A Few "Travel Resolutions" From Our Bloggers!
January 3 2013 by BW Innsider
Check out some of our featured blogger's "travel resolutions" for 2013 below. They all share the love of travel and strive to get out and explore as much as they can in the new year. What travel resolutions have you made for 2013?
From Michael Waltrip:
I'm looking forward to a road trip across America. Stopping to watch the NASCAR races along the way. Heck I might even race one myself!
From Amy Graff:
It has been so long since my family has seen a hot tropical destination that we're all turning the color of Elmer's Glue. My New Year's resolution this year is to get my family to a beach where the kids can swim in warm waters and play around in the waves.
From Bryson Forbes:
My travel resolution for 2013 is to get my entire immediate family signed up for the Nexus program. For those unaware of Nexus it is a program that is designed to expedite the border clearance process for low-risk, pre-approved travellers into Canada and the United States. The program will cost us $100 CDN ($50 for Ruth and I) our kids are under 18 and therefore free, but they do need to apply and will be interviewed. Once we get enrolled we will save lots of time avoiding custom lines either at the airport or when driving. Can't wait!
From Sam Lowe:
In 2013, I will see more of the United States. I have never been to Chicago. A lot of people find this amazing and most of them say it's a gotta-go-to place that cannot be missed. Also on my list are visits to the Little Big Horn Battlefield in Montana, the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee, and Stone Mountain in Georgia, plus watching Notre Dame play football at South Bend, seeing a production in Carnegie Hall, and eating a chicken-fried steak somewhere in Iowa just because I like the way it sounds.
From Jason Fogelson:
I resolve to look ahead more, and to plan more trips in advance. There are a few big annual events that I've meant to get to, and they seem to crop up so quickly that I never seem to have time to attend them. This year, I'll block out the time, make travel arrangements and reserve rooms at Best Western Hotels well in advance.
I resolve to travel lighter in 2013. I will take smaller, lighter gear, and I will take a hard look at my "just in case" packing strategy to see what can be left at home.
