It always makes for an interesting, rousing discussion at parties about the differences between college and pro football and which one is more exciting. Personally, I'll watch all of it and enjoy each and every game. But for the purpose of this blog post, I'm going to focus on the College Bowl games. It may not be too late to get your tickets, hop in your car and head out to the nearest bowl game for a real thrill of watching these collegiate athletes leave it all on the field, some for the last time of their college career.
The only dispute I have with Bowl Games is the sheer number of "bowl games" that are being held. There are 35 Bowl games being held and I much preferred it when there were fewer, more elite games being played. What follows is my pick for the games I'll be watching. Of course, everyone has their favorite team and I would be interested in reading your picks. Here is a rundown of the remaining 2011-2012 College Bowl Football games that I will pencil in on my calendar:
Rose Bowl, Monday, January 2 @Pasadena (Oregon vs. Wisconsin)
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Monday, January 2 @ Glendale (Oklahoma State vs. Stanford)
BCS Title Game, Monday, January 9 @New Orleans (LSU vs. Alabama)
Senior Bowl, January 28, 2012 @Mobile (Features the country's top senior collegiate players and NFL draft prospects)
All across the country, college bowl games continue to be one of the most popular sporting events year to year. Even if you're not a die-hard fan, it's hard not to get excited watching the enthusiasm and energy from these outstanding collegiate athletes. So, get your game face on and hit the road to catch a bowl game. There's always a Best Western nearby to meet all of your traveling needs. Who are you rooting for?
