Ansel Adams is one of my favorites. Photographers, that is. I think perhaps he was the best at capturing some of America's most beautiful and breathtaking scenery, most notably his black and white photographs of the West. There are so many places here in the United States and Canada that will simply take your breath away if you are fortunate enough to be able to travel and see them in person. I really wanted to be able to take photographs like you see in Arizona Highways or National Geographic; unfortunately my pictures were always slightly off- kilter, slightly out of focus or my hand in the picture. Ah well, I did the next best thing and married a man who has an eye and knack for capturing the perfect photograph.

We have been lucky enough to travel and see many natural wonders as well as famous landmarks. The amazing thing about many of these places is that they do not need a label to identify them - they're as well known as the Eiffel Tower or Big Ben. I decided to take an online tour to revisit or visit for the first time a few scenic treasures. Read on and see where my photo tour took me. I'm guessing most of you could recognize these spots without being told where or what they are.

Niagara Falls: (New York)

Whether you're on your honeymoon, taking the kids in the mini-van or just looking for a reminder of the power of Mother Nature, this waterfall will remind you of just how insignificant we truly are.

Golden Gate Bridge: (San Francisco)

Not only can you leave your heart here, but you can walk across this massive bridge that really isn't golden - it's red. It doesn't matter; it's still one of the most photographed bridge in the world.

Grand Canyon: (Arizona)

This really is one natural wonder that makes your jaw drop. Words or pictures hardly do it justice - it's just one of those sights you have to see for yourself. The expansiveness of the canyon is humbling and the colors emanating from the canyon walls will put any artist's palette to shame.

Empire State Building: (New York)

Named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, it truly lives up to the title. It currently is the third tallest skyscraper in the United States. What sets it apart from other buildings in New York is the art deco design, typical of pre-World War II architecture. Oh, and there's the final scene from the hopelessly romantic film "Sleepless in Seattle" that helps to make the Empire State Building so recognizable.

Toronto: (Canada)

Towering over the entire skyline of Toronto is the CN Tower. According to a Cornell University study of the world's most popular sites to photograph, the CN Tower is at the top of the list. The tower also made the list as one of the modern Severn Wonders of the World.

Whistler: (Canada)

Picturesque, stunning mountain backdrop and site of the Olympic Games 2010, Whistler in the wintertime is like stepping back into a time of quaint shops, holiday shoppers greeting one another and hot chocolate. And the people are friendly too.
