The Best of You Must Be Trippin' - Part 1

iStock_000001855377XSmall.jpgYou Must Be Trippin' will celebrate its third year of blogging this summer. It's been a lot of fun featuring up great travel ideas and tips; but the best part of this travelogue journey has come from reading all the wonderful comments from readers.

We have written about summer vacations, business trip tips, traveling with the kids, best music for your driving travel, Harley Davidson road trips and the list goes on. There have been some great contests too. We've asked our readers to send in their favorite fall photos, vote in the "Who's Gonna Win" NASCAR races, best romantic vacation, time travel machine and our latest, "Where's the Ultimate Travel Destination". If you missed any of these posts, take some time and go back and read through some of them. You'll find they're even better the second time you read them!

So, here is the first in a series of three blog posts where I will revisit some of these contests and post several comments that were particularly funny, touching and insightful. Please enjoy!

"I travel with my job, and I stay at Best Western almost 150 nights a year. The best part is that I can earn points and then take my wife to her favorite spot. Monterey CA. We were so excited that in Oct of this past year, we were able to share Monterey Beach Inn with my daughter and her husband and our 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Calli. She loved being right on the beach, we built sand castles and played in the water all afternoon...Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Hotel overlooking the ocean. She was so excited. The next day we spent all day at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, it was her first visit there and watching the joy and excitement in her eyes as she saw all the sea animals was worth everything...My daughter is the Police Academy and my son -in- law is a firefighter, so for them it was a wonderful, relaxing time. They rode their bikes from the hotel all the way to the wharf and loved it so much...It is a wonderful thrill that as a father and grandfather you can share a time like this with your family...Thank you Best Western...."

"I would LOVE to be at the Best Western in Galveston, Texas this summer. We stayed there last September with two of our grandsons and had a wonderful time. They both thought that we should move there and live at the Best Western. We will definitely always stay there when we make it to Galveston. Great folks, nice room and so close to the beach and good places to eat."
