My wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. She's still the love of my life! So from snowy Colorado I'm taking her to sunny Mazatlan this summer and Cabo this fall, with a potential return trip to our Honeymoon site in Maui on our actual anniversary!

By Ron Clarkson on February 10, 2011 3:12 PM

Most romantic spot?Definetly Hawaii where we spent our honeymoon 25 years ago and plan to return again this year!

By Marva Dunn on February 10, 2011 4:53 PM

Checking into a luxury motel that have fireplaces in the room, order dinner in and curl up by the fireplace wit a bottle of wine and that specils someone is my ideal a very romantic evening for Valentine's Day

By Dale Fish on February 17, 2011 4:25 PM

I would have to say Paris, France.

    By Diane52 on February 17, 2011 4:26 PM

The most romantic spot is Hawaii, it is so beautiful.

    By Crystal B on February 17, 2011 4:29 PM

Romantic is different for everyone for me it would be The edgewater inn honeymoon suite in shady cove oregon expecially if its snowing makes the hot tub great and the complimentary champange :)

    thats my most romantic place

By Danna Parker on February 17, 2011 4:33 PM

The most romantic getaway for us is niagra falls Ontario Canada. That is where the love of my life proposed to me 11 years ago :0)
Ever since that day it's been non stop love! (which is lucky for him since he stood me up on our first date! LOL)
We now have 2 gorgeous children and a happy home!

By Carol Buchman on February 17, 2011 4:35 PM

The most romantic destinations to travel to would have to be Hawaii or California. Anyplace with a warm sandy beach to stroll along at in the moon light or sit on the beach & look out over the ocean is romantic. Add a warm breeze, good food & soft music....maybe a hot tub. A clean, comfortable bed with lots of pillows to snuggle into and good coffee to wake up to...in an inviting environment which Best Western is known for...all add up to a most romantic destination in my view.

By Monica on February 17, 2011 4:37 PM

    I'm a sucker for San Francisco ...

    By jay w on February 17, 2011 4:38 PM

For us, the most romantic place we've been to is St. John island in the Caribbean. We got to take a catamaran boat out there from St. Thomas, and spend several hours just lounging on the beach & snorkeling. All in a gorgeous setting while it was pouring rain back home.

By Care on February 17, 2011 4:56 PM

the most romantic place I know and went is Poipu Beach, Kuaui Hawaii

By Debra Fish on February 17, 2011 5:06 PM

To be honest, I have never had the luxury of affording a romantic getaway. I would imagine that Hawaii, Paris or Ireland would be romantic places to visit with the one that I love. Due to the loss of my 30 year career, the death of my husband's construction business and the economy, we were unable to go out this year but my wonderful husband cooked a steak dinner for me at home.

    By Linda F on February 17, 2011 5:27 PM

I think that Hawaii is one of the most romantic destinations.

    By Diana H on February 17, 2011 5:29 PM

Though we haven't been there yet, I am going to say Hawaii!

By Donna Hay on February 17, 2011 6:20 PM

Anywhere is romantic if I am with my husband. This year for our anniversary we are going to be in Las Vegas-not your normal romantic spot-but we always make it magic! Roller Coaster rides, walks holding hands, long romantic dinners-it has it all.

By laura on February 17, 2011 6:53 PM

las vegas, the fountains at bellagio have to be one of the most romantic places in the world

By Adrienne on February 17, 2011 8:28 PM

    Quebec City, Montreal!

By Huguette English on February 18, 2011 3:40 AM

A cottage on the shores of Prince Edward Island.

By laurie on February 18, 2011 10:37 AM

Haven't really traveled for Valentine's but Venice is where I'd want to go!

By Angie on February 18, 2011 10:37 AM

Travelling under the Bridge of Sighs in a gondola in Venice.

By carol naes on February 18, 2011 10:40 AM

Most romantic, definitely Venice Italy we went when we were dating. We have been together 24 yrs and married 21. The rides in the gondolas with the music playing, the ambiance of the city, touring the glass factory..Memories I will never forget,,

would love to go back again someday..

By Lorraine Antonia Corso on February 18, 2011 10:40 AM

I have to say anywhere in Italy!

By Serena Debolt on February 18, 2011 10:41 AM

Most Romantic would be Vancouver Island - Tofino area. Watching the violent ocean crash upon the rocks, under a full moon and sandy beach. Its sinfully wicked!

By Rachel on February 18, 2011 10:41 AM

Definitely Fort Morgan, AL. Not really known for 'romantic' but when we went in October, we stayed in a house and there was not one person as far as the eye could see...it was like having a whole beach to ourselves!

By sue smith on February 18, 2011 10:44 AM

Disney in Orlando. I know it doesn't seem like a center of romance, but over 20 years ago that is where my husband and I spent our honeymoon and whenever we return, I feel like we are young again with the whole world ahead of us.

By Christina on February 18, 2011 10:48 AM

I think going to a luxury Bed and Breakfast is so romantic. It is intimate and you get a good breakfast - what can be better?

By Abby Smith on February 18, 2011 10:49 AM

I think Banff, Alberta is one of the most romantic places on the earth. The scenery is spectacular and the mountains look like a postcard when you see them in person.

By blessedta on February 18, 2011 10:50 AM

    Paris, France.

    By Marsha W. on February 18, 2011 10:52 AM

Key West has it all for romance... Tropical flowers, amazing sunsets, tropical concoctions, yummy restaurants, perfect for a romantic getaway. And there are two Best Western's on the island!

By Robin on February 18, 2011 10:52 AM

My favorite romantic getaway is the tiny coastal town of Cambria, California, just south of Big Sur. It's beautiful no matter what the weather's life, and the little town of Cambria is full of romantic bistros and cafes, art galleries and wine shops. And the Moonstone Beach Best Western in Cambria is TO DIE FOR (and I'm not just saying that for the contest--it's gorgeous). Truly an intimate getaway.

    By Dan B on February 18, 2011 10:54 AM

I believe that a cruise to and around Hawaii would be very romantic. If it is going traditional then no doubt Niagara Falls ON is the place to be. No matter where it is as long as it is with my sweetheart then I am happy.

By Stefanie on February 18, 2011 11:15 AM

Last Valentine's Day was a snowy one at Mt. Rainier & it was an endlessly beautiful & romantic setting.

By Chrysta Archer on February 18, 2011 11:19 AM

Never been but I think touring Wineries in the Napa Valley during the summer would be romantic. One day.......

By Heidi Pawluk on February 18, 2011 11:25 AM

Romantic vacations are the best when you "hang your heart" with the one you love. Be it looking down from the Eiffel Tower in Paris, skiing the Rockies, enjoying the waters at Hana Bay beach in Maui or swimming with the dolphins in Mexico, it is all wrapped up with your one special person.

This Valentine's Day we went to our favourite restaurant, shared a great meal, talked and enjoyed each other's company while visions of Key West danced in our heads from 30 years past...aww the memories!!!

    By Angela A on February 18, 2011 12:00 PM

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - Everyone needs a little romance in their life. In New Orleans, there's more than enough to go around. Take, for example, the following hotels voted "most romantic".

Take a cruise on the Steamboat Natchez. Stroll in Jackson Square and have your portrait done. Visit the historic New Orleans French Quarter sites on tour through the Cabildo. Go on a plantation tour or a haunted history tour. Ride the streetcars. Go antique shopping. Visit the art galleries. Tour the Garden District. Or just stay near your hotel and use your imagination. Having fun is not a problem.

The most romantic destination I've ever been to is Kailua, Kona. My husband and I had a beautiful room at Kona Surf hotel overlooking the ocean. Hawaii is incredibly beautiful with lush tropical landscaping and lovely white sand beaches and the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen. The fresh seafood such as Ahi and MahiMahi and fresh local fruit such as Guavas, bannanas and Papayasis are so delicious. There is a ton of great restaurants many of them ocean front. My husband and I were eating breakfast one morning at an ocean front restaurant and we saw dolphins playing in the waves My husband and I went on many fun and romantic activities while we were there such as swimming, surfing, snorkling, dancing, boat cruises, hula dancing, whale watching and strolling along the beach. We also went on a Helicopter ride over Kiluea as it was erupting which is one of the most incredible things I've ever expericend. The local people are so friendly and the weather is so warm that we wore shorts, slippers, t-shirts and bathing suits the whole time we were there. My husband and I can't wait to go back again to spend some quality romantic time with each other.

By cam james on February 18, 2011 12:08 PM

hawaii where its warm and sunny and you can relax

By Carol on February 18, 2011 12:45 PM

The most romantic spot - Poconos - Pennsylvania.

By Brad on February 18, 2011 12:57 PM

The most romantic spot is Kennebunkport Maine. My wife and I got married there and we chose that place even though we don't live there because we go to visit every summer and always will. Every visit reminds of our wedding. It is such a great seaside New England town with all the charm you'd expect, beaches, great ocean views, nice people, boats, shops. It is like no other place.

By tina on February 18, 2011 12:59 PM

the most romantic spot in the world is in front of the eiffel tower in Paris. So beautiful and romantic especially at night time when the tower is lit up

By Robert Parr on February 18, 2011 1:09 PM

The most romantic places would have to be historic places where you can be so in tuned with what is going on around you, but at the same time completely oblivious to what is going on with your job or personal life. Places liek Rome and Paris.

By Beverly on February 18, 2011 2:17 PM

The most romantic place has to be Hawaii. Nothing compares to the sunsets there.

By Melissa on February 18, 2011 5:54 PM

I think any place can be romantic if you're in the right frame of mind. Whether it is the solitude of Alaska, the beaches of Hawaii, or the mountains of Tennessee, romance is sure to follow if you get a chance to escape the usual stresses of day to day life!

By Sarah on February 20, 2011 11:41 AM

I think Paris would be the most romantic getaway!

By Corrine on February 20, 2011 1:26 PM

    Savannah, GA

By evic on February 20, 2011 1:27 PM

Rome is the place for me and my wife to getaway for a romantic trip. Whether it be walking the streets and stopping by the numerous fountains or enjoying a nice romantic dinner under the stars Rome is special!

    By Patricia H on February 20, 2011 1:28 PM

I would love to go to Rome Italy for Valentines Day and dine under the stars at a little cafe with candlelight.

The most romantic place my husband ever took me for Valentines day is to the exact spot we had our first kiss :)

By Linda on February 20, 2011 1:30 PM

After living in Hawaii for nine years, I found our most romantic spot to be Cancun, Mexico, just beautiful!

By Dale Fish on February 20, 2011 1:30 PM

I would say Paris would be the most romantic!
I have never traveled for Valentines day, matbe someday. We stayed home, and I cooked for my bride! :)P

By Pam Keener on February 20, 2011 1:41 PM

I think the most romantic spot would be anywhere warm with a beach for romping and relaxing.
    Love & Hugs,
    Pam

    By Sean Y on February 20, 2011 1:43 PM

You Must Be Trippin! I love that!!

Best place to spend valentines day or romance someone is to be with someone you love and you can make anything special! I would love to go to Bora Bora and watch the sunset from a private villa.. but ive had better if not more romantic moments in local hotels here in los angeles by setting the mood right with all the little things she loves (its the little things that mean the most sometimes). I have stayed at motels and 5 star hotels and both have been amazing because of that special someone. I love to be the one to spoil her and always sweep her off her feet - regardless of where we are or what we do.

By Diane on February 20, 2011 1:52 PM

I would say Las Vegas. We got married there and have a love for the city. Our second pick would be Hawaii. My husband and I have only been married for 2 1/2 years but both of these places can be great romantic places to visit!

By bina edwards on February 20, 2011 1:57 PM

if I had a hottub I would make my back yard my romantic destination with my hubby

I would have to say Gernada is one of the most romantic place actually anywhere in the carribean is

By Trin on February 20, 2011 2:10 PM

There's a little island in Florida called Anna Maria. From the north end of it's soft shelly beach you can see the dolphins and forget there is anyone else on earth.

    By Cindy H. on February 20, 2011 2:15 PM

Most romantic is Hawaii! The windward side of Oahu, Kailua and Lanikai...empty white sand beaches, gorgeous turquoise waters..best place on earth.

By Julie Sharwtz on February 20, 2011 2:17 PM

I would have to say the most romantic destination for me is where ever the love of my life takes me as long as I am with him IN his arms its magical and romantic I follow u on twitter @Waterbluffy

    By Jill H on February 20, 2011 2:44 PM

I've never traveled anywhere for Valentine's Day specifically. But I have been to Hawaii and I would definitely say it is one of the most romantic places to travel to and would pick it for a Valentine's romantic trip. Especially to the island of Maui on the beach during sunset!! I have some beautiful pictures of the Maui sunset and would love to travel there on Valentine's Day with my special someone!

By Linda Davison on February 20, 2011 2:48 PM

The most romantic place is staying at the Best Western in Habor, Oregon right on the beach! They have hot tubs in some of the rooms too with an awesome view of the ocean. You can walk along the pier with shops, food and on weekends a market. @Dutchbrosluv

    By Mary C. on February 20, 2011 2:57 PM

St. Lucia in the Eastern Caribbean. A wonderful romantic hotspot with beautiful beaches and lush green mountains.

    By Jules L on February 20, 2011 3:32 PM

I have never traveled on Valentines Day but i would love to one day explore the Amalfi Coast of italy and Venice as well of course.. it seems like such a romantic place to be...maybe one day..

By Cindy champion on February 20, 2011 3:46 PM

    Dunns river, Jamaica.

    By Barb H on February 20, 2011 4:01 PM

Of course this ideal place to be would be the Caribbean (thats where my sister went this year for Valentines) Myself I spent a few years ago Valentines on Orcas Island in a cabin on the beach with a bon fire and sipping wine, it was so romantic. But its really not where you are at it is who you are with.

    By Barb H on February 20, 2011 4:04 PM

Orcas island part of the San Juan Islands in Washington State. Its not where you are at though its really who you are with.

By Julie Baylor on February 20, 2011 4:44 PM

Monterey, CA has it all! It is small enough to keep your getaway intimate, and yet offers so much to do. Wine tasting tours, hiking, walks on the beach, kayaking, great restaurants. Absolutely beautiful scenery and mild weather year round.

    By Steve S on February 20, 2011 5:21 PM

The Best Valentines Day travel place? anywhere there is a Best Western!! I met my girlfriend at the Best Western in Bar Harbor, Maine!!!

    By Terri K (@tkharmonic) on February 20, 2011 7:44 PM

I'd have to choose Hawaii. The Hawaiian Islands have some of the most spectacular sunsets in the world, which is very romantic to me. It's foreign and exotic enough to be exciting, yet still has all the benefits I am used to as a US citizen.

    By J Bonios on February 20, 2011 11:01 PM

The most romantic destination is of course a personal preference. For me and my wife, Ambergris Caye in Belize would of course be number one. We got married there on the white sand beach. Amazing romatic!

By Tricia on February 21, 2011 10:59 AM

Hands down, Quebec City, Canada. Doesn't matter what time of year it is, it's always magical and romantic!

    By Amy C on February 21, 2011 6:10 PM

I'd have to say San Pedro island... The beaches are amazing.

    By Arn V on February 22, 2011 7:38 AM

Barcelona, Spain is definitely the city to be....

    By Mike D. on February 22, 2011 7:39 AM

I think the most romantic destination is anywhere you can go with someone you love. My favorite place I have ever gone with my wife is to Evergreen, Colorado. What a great, cozy town.

    By Anita G on February 22, 2011 7:43 AM

I have never been on a trip for Valentine's. I've always had to work..BOO! But, if i was gonna go some where I would probably go to a resort in Hawaii- Beautiful beaches and sunsets. But as long as I'm with my honey wherever we are can be romantic!

By Cee Cee DeHart on February 22, 2011 7:49 AM

The most romantic place my husband and I have ever been was Cozumel. We sailed there for our 25th Wedding Anniversary two years ago. It was like a dream and something I will never forget...defiinitely worth the 25 year wait. We never really had much of a honeymoon....didn't go to any extravagant place, because we were both struggling college students putting ourselves through school, when we got married. We haven't been able to take any nice vacations since because I recently lost my job and we find ourselves once again struggling with finances.

By hminnesota on February 22, 2011 7:54 AM

Taj Mahal , Agra India- where the king made a gorgeous tomb for his beloved wife.

By Marcella Cook on February 22, 2011 8:42 AM

I would have to say the most romantic place is a little bed and breakfast in San Antonio called the Brackenridge House. It's near the Riverwalk and absolutely FANTASTIC!!!

    @TheMarciFactor

By Charline Williams on February 22, 2011 8:52 AM

I think the most romantic place is Paris. It's scenery and amenities are the best compared to other places.

By Kirsten on February 22, 2011 11:08 AM

Tahiti. My great-grandmother was a Tahitian princess who married a missionary and moved to the U.S. She had several children, including my grandma Oma (Tahitian name Miriama). I grew up hearing about the beauty of Tahiti . I dream of strolls along the water, the clear blue water...the sunset, pure romance.

By Kelsey on February 22, 2011 12:05 PM

I love spending time in Monterey, CA. We fell in love there and it's always been where we feel the most relaxed. And there are a million Best Westerns nearby

By Patricia MacLeod on February 22, 2011 12:08 PM

I think the most romantic place is Lunenburg, Nova Scotia Canada. It is a small town on the water, with many folk artists and lots of fishing vessels.

    By Eva D on February 22, 2011 12:09 PM

Danali, Alaska. Not your typical "romantic" place. but the beauty of the mountains wild animals and snow is breath taking. My husband and I had a WONDERFUL week there a few years ago and I hope that one day we can return

    By Jennie N on February 22, 2011 12:17 PM

The most romantic place I've ever been to was Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada. The sunsets each night over the Atlantic Ocean were the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's such a peaceful, friendly, romantic place. Everyone is so laid back and the scenery is just breathtaking. I can't wait to go again :)

    By Shannon M. on February 22, 2011 12:19 PM

I think the most romantic place to visit is any bed and breakfast in the mountains! Quite, beautiful and romantic!

    By Dave P. on February 22, 2011 12:22 PM

Any type of a getaway with my wife can be romantic. We spent the night at the BW Mariemont in Cincinnati over Valentine weekend and was a great time. Dinner was top of the line and we strolled through the village window shopping. Truely a great weekend.

By Barbara Shurtz Snyder on February 22, 2011 12:24 PM

I got engaged and honeymooned in St Lucia. Very Romantic!!!

By Raquel on February 22, 2011 12:28 PM

I think the most romantic place would be Hawaii, there are many places to go within one place. I would love to take my boyfriend away to Hawaii, but had to settle for within my area. So I decided to take him to a Best Western in NJ for his birthday. Went there once for my birthday and fell in love with it. Good Luck everyone.

By Kathleen Marler on February 22, 2011 12:37 PM

The most romantic spot can be anywhere as long as you are with the one you love! We have been to the beach and found romance in the morning sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean. We have been in the middle of Washington, DC and found love while looking at the Monument. We have been to Virginia and found love walking in a park.

Now it does help if you are away from home that the rooms are clean, and the staff are friendly (which we found to be the case whenever we've stayed at Best Western).

By Deborah Harper on February 22, 2011 12:37 PM

I went to Best Western Aku Tikki Inn,at Daytona Shores,Florida, for Christmas this year and it is a very nice clean and friendly place to stay! Everyone was eager to please and the head of house keeping was visibly on top of her job! The only thing I would change next time is a bigger room with a kitchen! Wonderful romantic place to stay for anyone! I will go back as often as I can! Loved it!

    By imalazymom.com on February 22, 2011 12:38 PM

In my opinion the most romantic place to get away to is wherever you can! Whether its a trip away or a night alone in your own home. Romance is wherever you can make it!

That being said, a great romantic destination is Sea Side FL. A quaint tiny little town. Its so small youl blink and miss it (or at least it was 11 years ago when we went for a picnic there one day). I'd love to go back!

I say Vegas because you can travel the world with your loved one without leaving the city. Loved seeing Paris durning the day and being snuggled while watching the fountain shows at night

By Erica Best on February 22, 2011 12:42 PM

    i would say Paris, France

By Kate on February 22, 2011 12:49 PM

Las Vegas, it was our honeymoon!

By Rebecca on February 22, 2011 1:06 PM

I think anyplace can be romantic when it is with the one you love. However, If I had to be specific I would say that a candelight dinner with my husband is wonderful--specifically at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland right on the water's edge. Then a hotel with a spa and pool would be nice too!

    By Lori L. on February 22, 2011 1:07 PM

Being from the midwest, I think Kansas City is a great romantic getaway. And there are two hotels (Hyatt Regency Crown Center and Westin Crown Center) that are both GREAT hotels in the heart of downtown and connected to a mall with plenty of great food choices. I love this because you never have to go outside and worry about driving anywhere, especially in bad weather. Just settle into your hotel room and when you want dinner, it's a short climate-controlled walk to several nice places. :)

    By Reka M on February 22, 2011 1:10 PM

Most romantic was Miami, Yes we were tourist but I felt like the only woman in the world there and the beautiful ocean, sand and food!

By Tamika Wilks on February 22, 2011 1:15 PM

    By Kelly M. on February 22, 2011 1:37 PM

My husband and I took a trip to Rome, Italy and it was so awesome. It was romantic, and full of rich history and culture. We had a great time and I'd love to go back someday. The food and the people were amazing. It was definitely full of romance and a great Valentine's place to go.

By Ann on February 22, 2011 1:39 PM

San Diego - my boyfriend and I love the restaurant Nobu - a chic, hip, romantic spot that can't be found in many other cities.

By Christy Long on February 22, 2011 2:16 PM

I believe anywhere in Italy would be dreamy. I loved traveling through the Pacific Northwest in the states. So beautiful!

By Jeff Keck on February 22, 2011 2:32 PM

    Any place in Italy.

By Rose on February 22, 2011 3:14 PM

Niagra falls Ontario Canada is the honeymoon spot and most romantic, so I have heard. Having lived in Ontario all my life I yet to travel to Niagra falls. If I win this giveaway you can bet where I'll be going.

Funny, our wedding night we stayed in a Best Western. We married young and could not afford to go away. Even though we stayed local, best western made our honey moon perfect.

We ordered a reg room and they gave us the best suite at no additional charge. That was 21 years ago and I still recommend Best Western.

I didnt get to travel this year, but i always have thought HAWAII would be very romantic. Walks on the beach, lots of sun and seeing the volcanoes would be GREAT ! ahh MAYBE NEXT YEAR

A cruise to almost any Caribbean island. Great beaches, sand, warm breeze.

I would think that getting lost in the side streets of Venice, Italy with my wife would be the great romantic destination and I would love to get lost there again.

By Jan Roberts on February 22, 2011 9:07 PM

We love mini-getaways, sometimes we even stay at a hotel right here in town! Just getting away TOGETHER is the main thing. It takes us back to when we were dating

By Linda on February 22, 2011 11:06 PM

Paris of course! Always wanted to go there

By Violet Smith on February 23, 2011 1:07 PM

I think the most romantic place is whereever you are able to spend time with your spouse, it could be your living room, or a romantic destination abroad, but where ever you are together, that is the most romantic place. This year we opted to have a romantic dinner at home, that we each helped prepare and shared this meal with our two daughters. The Filet melted in your mouth, the baked potatoes were perfect and the salad crisp.

By BJ Russell on February 23, 2011 4:07 PM

The most romantic place I would like to go with my husband is Italy. Our course with 6 children that is something we can't do right now. We'll do that trip when they've all grown and left home. We had a nice romantic Valentines Day at home snuggled under our comforter in our room watching tv.

By Patricia Smith on February 23, 2011 5:23 PM

I would pick Hawaii but my husband would probably choose vegas

By Maria on February 23, 2011 9:52 PM

My fiance and I have actually booked the Best Western Coconut Waikiki Hotel for our wedding night! We loved the quirky modern decor - but a gift card to help us with the cost (or a future stay) would be AWESOME!

By Simon on February 24, 2011 6:59 AM

Nothing is more romantic than the beaches and the beautiful sunsets in Maui, Hawaii!

    By Debbie W on February 24, 2011 7:00 AM

Hubby and I took a tour through the Rockies. Lake Louise was beautiful, quiet, vibrant, and so romantic.

By Sara Broers on February 24, 2011 7:00 AM

Hawaii...Would love to go there! Valentine's Day is usually very quiet for us~ A little help to get to Hawaii would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the opportunity.

    By Haritina D. on February 24, 2011 7:01 AM

Hawaii... omg, I was there for 10 days with my boyfriend a few years ago and I am dying to go back! So romantic

    By ginette4 on February 24, 2011 7:03 AM

Most romantic would have to be Paris France

By Amy on February 24, 2011 7:04 AM

    Paris, France!

Hawaii is the most romantic place to be

    By LeeAnn P on February 24, 2011 7:14 AM

Hawaii is the most romantic place I've been. I dream of taking my husband and showing him how private and un-touristy it can be! But for now, we spent Valentine's day with the kids having our favorite sushi!

By freeshopper on February 24, 2011 7:15 AM

    Hawaii definitely!

    By Shirley Martin-Tutolo on February 24, 2011 7:24 AM

I think for me the most romantic place was Venica. Going on a gondola ride and being serenaded as you glide along the romantic hidden canals. It was the perfect moment of my life.

By Valerie on February 24, 2011 9:43 AM

I'm going to be corny and say that the most romantic destination is in my love's arms.

It certainly helps to be somewhere tropical though, like the Caribbean. :)

By Shawn Painchaud on February 24, 2011 9:50 AM

I would have to go with Qualicum Beach! Beautiful walk along the beach and very scenic place. Also that is where I meet my wife of 20 years coming up soon!! But since we live just around the corner from there i think Victoria would be another romantic place for us. Especially if we stayed at the Best Western Plus Inner Harbour!

By nancy reid on February 24, 2011 5:40 PM

Gliding over the rails and riding across the Napa Valley wine region in the Wine Train was by far our most romantic trip. The meticulously restored vintage rail cars of the train are stunning and sophisticated not to mention the the gourmet cuisine prepared before your eyes in the chef's car and served on linen with silver and crystal. Shopping in the quaint colorful shoppes and imbuing in wine tasting at numerous boutique wineries made us a little giddy.
Napa Valley is truly a lovely location to reignite the romance in your relationship. It certainly did for us. And if you are as lucky as us you will get to stay at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Inn at the Vines. It leaves nothing lacking

Most places have the potential to be romantic! if you go into a vacation expecting a place to be particularly romantic you may be disappointed by the reality - keep an open mind and you'll find beauty and romance in unlikely places!

By Sabrina on February 25, 2011 11:56 AM

One of our most romantic moments was a picnic with baguettes and tartlette aux fraises in front of the Eiffel Tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France on my birthday. Oh, and coming back that evening to see the Eiffel Tower all lit up from the Trocadero. Beautiful!

We live in NYC so there are plenty of places to go for Valentine's Day! We used to just pick a nice restaurant and go. Now we try to get out of town. One year we went to Lancaster, PA for Valentine's Day. We loved it. Very pretty and peaceful. Romantic because there were no distractions.

By Tammera Widell on February 26, 2011 12:29 PM

Walking hand in hand on a beautiful sandy beach!

    By jenanine m on February 26, 2011 12:51 PM

I think Fuji or Hawaii are. The scenecry is beautiful

By Julie Cowart on February 26, 2011 12:57 PM

The most romantic was not some faraway nor exotic place. It was in our hometown along the shores of the Columbia River in the Gorge. We were walking along the river just at sunset. It was an icy cold wintery evening and the colors were pretty against the mountain and suddenly it started snowing. The colors of the sunset could be seen on the edges of the flakes so they were an orangey-pink.
The river was calm and ducks and geese were floating by. I grabbed my hubbys hand and he looked at me and smiled then pulled me close.

The forgotten coast of Florida is one of the more romantic and amazing places I've ever been to.

Most romantic destination is Hawaii. Serene location and great weather most of the year would get my vote!!!

We went to Antigua for our honeymoon, and would love to go back one day! It was beautiful, romantic and very peaceful.

By Ken Barth on February 27, 2011 5:10 PM

For us, it was Aruba. Gorgeous days and nights, sparkling blue waters and a feeling there was no hurry to anything. It was our honeymoon, of course, and it will be a long time before we can afford that again, but oh, how wonderful it was.

By Candace Kuykendall on February 28, 2011 8:01 AM

Our romantic place is simply Gatlinburg, TN. Mainly because that is where we went for our honeymoon and it is close enough to get away for a short trip without the kids when we need some alone time!

    By Ian Y on February 28, 2011 8:03 AM

We could not travel during Valentines day this year, but from personal experience, the most romantic destination to travel to would be in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It is absolutely beautiful! And this was the destination we went to last year. And its all the way up there in the top 5 for sure!

    By Debbie S on February 28, 2011 8:26 AM

I think the most romantic place to travel to would be italy.Youring vineyards eating and drinking wine.travelling in a gondela..so different from lfe here!

Best Western Shinjuku Astina Hotel Tokyo. I'm in love with Tokyo.

We have never done a Valentine's trip. We did go to NYC for our 15th wedding anniversary and found it to be romantic. There is so much to do and see, that it can be an 'anything' you want kind of trip. We stayed right on Central Park with a view that was amazing!!

By Janet Sebern on February 28, 2011 11:13 AM

The most romantic place to travel is Charlotte, North Carolina. Beautiful State. The best and most romantic place is the Charlotte Motor Speedway...Walking in with your heart pounding out of your chest, holding hands with your sweetheart and ready to share with him the Great American Pasttime....Racing!!!

By katie mackenzie on February 28, 2011 11:28 AM

    By Lisa K. on February 28, 2011 2:12 PM

A year ago, we traveled to Costa Rica over Valentine's Day. It was the most romantic place we had ever visited! We had an elegant meal overlooking an active volcano. It was oddly dangerous and invigorating. It made us realize that life is for living, and to never take any moment for granted!

    By Sandra S on February 28, 2011 2:13 PM

Most romantic getaway? Venice is pretty nice, I had the chance to arrive in Venice on a ship at sunrise with my hubby, and it was pretty nice, but it does get a bit too busy during the day, so my other choice would be Hawaii, just because it is so beautiful and has an awesome climate and great beaches with warm water! :)

By Matt from MN on February 28, 2011 2:15 PM

Our most romantic destination has to be The North Shore, MN. My wife and I spent a Valentine's weekend there before we had children. We stayed right on the lake. It was quite and serene.

By Odreanne LeBlond on February 28, 2011 2:19 PM

Quebec City is absolutely romantic, especially the Old City and Old Port in summer.
A must would be a pick nick on the Plains of Abraham facing St-Laurent River, a horse drawn carriage ride inside the walls of the old city and a romantic dinner on a terrace in the Petit Champlain.
To end the night, a hand in hand walk in the old port.

By Kat Petrick on February 28, 2011 2:24 PM

The most romantic destination is at the San Simeon Best Western Cavalier Ocean front Resort...It is the most beautiful sunset ever. You can dine in your room and open your slider to the ocean waves...At night they burn the fire pits....This is my favorite place to hide away with my hubby ♥

By Jenny Marin on February 28, 2011 2:34 PM

Victoria, BC! My husband and I just went there for our honeymoon in October, where we spent hours walking hand in hand through the fall leaves and along the waterfront. We'll be going back as often as we can!

By Wendy Crimmins on February 28, 2011 2:39 PM

I absolutely love to go to Cambria, CA. Moonstone Beach and the lovely small town people are fantastic. Very romantic.

    By Nick O. on February 28, 2011 2:42 PM

I would have to say Las Vegas. The top of the tower in Paris. The fountains and Le Cirque of the Bellagio, just to name a few spots. My wife and I were married ther, and loved it.

By Skip Stone on February 28, 2011 2:49 PM

All I can reference is places that are local to me. I've been to a couple different countries, but they say there's no place like home. The most romantic destination is only one state away from me, just under 200 miles from the Cliff House on Whidbey Island. It would be just the two of you in extreme lushness. Outside my price range, but never outside my wanting to go there.

By kathy davies on February 28, 2011 2:49 PM

the most romantic destination is in the true english countryside. Everlasting emerald landscapes, quaint villiages, breathtaking views and typically grey english weather. No need for top dollar and glamour when you have another world in the heart of the yorkshire dales, curled up by a log fire with that special someone.

    By Maria P. on February 28, 2011 3:34 PM

I think it would be the Grand Canyon. You can see how insignificant your little differences are when you view this amazing site.

By Jill Goddard on February 28, 2011 3:53 PM

It's a tie between Monterey, Califorinia and Tofino, British Columbia. We spent part of our honeymoon 36 years ago in Monterey and return at least four times a year. As years go by we watched the changes to Cannery Row, becoming charter members of the Aquarium and dining on shrimp and squid cocktails on the Wharf. We found our favorite local hotel Best Western Victorian Inn (great view, fireplaces, afternoon wine and cheese, breakfast, terrific staff) is the perfect place to park the car and unwind.

The brochure rack on the Washington State Ferry to Victoria during our 30th wedding anniversary vacation celebration led us to the Tin Wis in Tofino (and we have been returning every year). The beautiful four story hotel and spectacular ocean view make it the perfect place for storm (and sun) watching. It is well worth the scenic drive along Highway 4 and through the Pacific Rim National Park to reach this very romantic and rather remote location. Wine on the balcony and fresh BC seafood cooked in our kitchenette gives is one great ending to a day of hiking and exploring--then again there is the hotel's Calm Waters restaurant. Romantic--how do you decide between the two?

By Sharon Whitaker on February 28, 2011 4:27 PM

I think the most romantic destination is Ruidoso, New Mexico. This rustic town, located next to Ski Apache resort, has a quaint downtown full of wonderful restaurants with awesome mountain views. The smell of pinion wood burning in little chimena fireplaces all over town gives the whole town a warm, homey feeling. Love it!

By Kim Payne on February 28, 2011 4:33 PM

the most romantic destination? i think is not a particular place at all. romance is in the heart and where you and your loved one end up going, it's up to you to make it romantic. romance is so many different things to so many different people. me? i'd love nothing better to be somewhere where there were outdoor activites nearby and a nice warm hotel room to come 'home' to later, with my loved one. maybe dinner out? maybe dinner in...
a change of scenery away from home is always nice and adds the romance of being in a 'foreign' destination. so whether it's Banff, Tofino, San Francisco, or Arizona somewhere, being away from home is always a treat and a soul lifter. that in itself can trigger the romance!

By Debbie Terry on February 28, 2011 5:23 PM

I tried to resist loving Paris. Everyone said it was the most romantic city on earth and I didn't want to have the same favorite city. I failed miserably. Who can resist Paris? It really is the most romantic city in the world!

By Audra Skiba on February 28, 2011 6:29 PM

The most romantic Valentine's trip I've ever had was with my husband to a ski lodge in Lewiston, Michigan. We tried cross country skiing and visited with snow-mobilers at the local pub. We sat by a fire and enjoyed playing board games with the other guests at the lodge. It was the most romantic (and relaxing!) valentine getaway we've ever had...

By Barb Edwards on February 28, 2011 7:15 PM

The most romantic place in the world that I would like to be on Valentines Day
is Italy. Walking the ground where Romeo and Juliet had once walked would send me in to a romantic whirlwind of fantasy. After the weekend even Shakespeare would have to rewrite the ending of his novel to happily ever after.

By Ken on February 28, 2011 7:31 PM

    San Diego! Enough said...

    By Erika P on February 28, 2011 7:41 PM

Anywhere the sun is shining, a cool breeze is passing by, the ocean is all I can see, and a glass of iced tea is in hand!! I have done a little traveling and I can't wait to share my love with my boyfriend who has not ..yet... been as fortunate. The most romantic place to be is anywhere relaxing with your love.

By Karen Turner on February 28, 2011 7:54 PM

You can't beat Margaret River for a slice of romance with it's beautiful scenery, fabulous cuisine and wineries.
