Carefree summer fun to me is in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
All of the lovely beaches and the wonderful boardwalks make me want to stay and always come back for more.

New York City was amazing and it was hard to leave. So much to see and do there wasn't time to do it all and going back is always on my mind.
Time Square is AMAZING!

My husband and I did the Europe trip last summer. We went to London, Paris, Switzerland, Venice, Rome and the Vatican city, all in two weeks time! We stayed at Best Western Au Trocadero in Paris (which was right beside the Eiffel Tower) and Best Western Mondial in Rome. It was a pleasant stay and an amazing journey with so many attractions to see, variety of people to meet and cultures to learn. We took about 1000 plus pictures that have left us with sweet memories. The beauty of the Swiss country left me spellbound. We would again like to go back to Europe and also travel the other parts such as Germany, Spain and Amsterdam.

Sydney Australia such a wonderful city with something for everyone. Bridge clime for my usband Brian while I went round the Botanic Gardens and saw the bats. Then just a short drive away the Blue mountains and the Hunter Valley for some really great wine-perfection.

Bermuda! Sit on one of the pink sand beaches or snorkel around the islands' clear blue ocean and you'll know this place is special. I would love to go back again and again.

a great place where you should have been.... Amersfoort in the Netherlands, a real old citycenter with canals, real good festivals during the whole year and a brand new neighbourhood with spectacular buildings... visit Amersfoort!!

we stayed in charleston, sc a couple of years ago. I absolutely fell in love with that city! the day we were to leave, all flights were cancelled because of a storm up north. so we stayed at the best western that night. what a great hotel, and very economical! wish i had chosen that hotel in the beginning, will remember for next trip. yes, there has to be another trip! i left my heart there.

The best summer vacation I've ever had was a trip that took us from Florida all the way up the eastern seaboard. It was great to see the historical sites along with the new things such as amusement parks along the way.

Oh my best trip was to Panama City Beach, FL. Now I wonder if I ever can enjoy the beaches there and the sunsets. To hear the waves wash in and out was such a soothing and warming experience. I took my children and we so enjoyed the vacation. So much to do there and so little time. Did I mention the seafood? OMG! Now I wonder will it ever be safe again?

Hawaii definately! Last summer we went to Oahu & Kauai. Next time, Maui.

my favourite summer vacation spot is vancouver canada..the weather.stanley park and for the wet days the shopping.. best western has a wonderful restaurant and an inviting pool as well as across the road from a wonderful r&b nite club the Yale..yes for sure vancouver....

I had the most wonderful time at Yosemite! We stayed for a week with family and it was the most serene beautiful park I have been to, ever! I didn't expect to be so taken away by the scenery but it was just that nice. I'd LOVE to go back!

Our favorite vacation spot is still Disneyland after many years. We took our children when they were very young, and can't imagine a vacation spot that can top the fun of Disney. Of course BW Park Place Inn is the place to stay (closest hotel to the park entrances and great rates).

Heshey Pa is our favorite vacation spot. Amusement park, chocolate, and family fun, wwhat more could you want!

My favorite summer vacation spot is Port Aransas, TX. On an island on the gulf coast of Texas this little fishing village has everything for everybody, adults and kids alike. From fishing to fun in the sun to fine dining. You can walk everywhere, ride the ferry to get off the island and even eat locally made fudge. Not only is it a safe and fun place to visit it is one of the most friendly places we have ever been.

Without a doubt, the best summer destination for me is Montana! From road trippin' across the state, to floating the Madison, and watching the Brewery Follies in Virginia City... there is so much more to that state than even I could have ever imagined before I went there for the first time. Its the place that I want to tell EVERYONE about and no one at the same time because I want it to remain the pristine wonderland that it is to me. Every time I go, I discover a new thing that makes me wonder how you could not love this place! The last time it was the Bucking Horse Sale and when Main Street shuts down so the bands can play and everyone comes out to two-step...you feel like you're touching heaven under that big Montana sky.

Best trip was May/June 2006 to Italy for my wife's 50th Birthday. Spent 3 weeks traveling from Rome to the south, to the north, back to the center and then back to Rome. Unbelievable trip (except for the Autostrade's). But the highlight was the Amalfi coast. Spent 3 glorious days in Positano, and stayed at the Best Western there (yes there is one). Great scenery, great food, great weather, great country.

Charlotte, N.C.... The HEART of Nascar! We had a BLAST!!! Going to see all the race teams was so fun! Now they have the Nascar Hall of Fame. I would LOVE to go back to see it! AND the best part....We stayed at Best Western. With the FREE breakfast, (which included waffles, eggs and gravy), it really helped save us MONEY!!!! Since we went during the race week...they also ALWAYS had a table prepared with goodies ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY!!! THANKS Best Western!! :)

I went on a royal caribbean cruise which was a delight. on that cruise we disembarked in charlotte amalie, st thomas...and i simply fell in love with the island. i would love to return to stay at the marriott hotel and resort. i've been online checking out that hotel, and it looks like a great place to spend a vacation.

My family and I went to Florida. We stayed in Orlando, went to Universal Studio's Islands of Adventure and swam in the ocean at Daytona Beach. We drove down to Miami where I met an online friend in person for the first time! She took us into Miami at night and that was an awesome experience...sand castles with candles aflame..it was huge...music and dancing...we never wanted to come home.

The bestest (as my kids would say) place to go is Punta Cana. My kids (3&7) got to snorkel & feed the wild fish in the Ocean for the first time. My son as well got to swim with stingrays & sharks, a memory he surely will not forget! The place has the best beaches for building sandcastles or the warmest water to go swimming in. We especially loved having picnics on our towels beside the pool after raiding the buffets! But our fondest memory is of our friends getting married there, the flowers, the scenery and the nice people we met!

Cape Cod, Massachusetts. You have the sandy beaches of the National Seashore. You can bike the rail trail. Each town has a different feel. You can take the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and/or Nantucket. Take the kids to Wellfleet and go to the drive in.

My summer vacation spot without a doubt is Bristol, TN and NASCAR racing! Plus seeing Best Western on the hood of a racecar adds to the enjoyment!

we took a 15 day road trip from Langley BC to san diego. took the I-5 to san fran and then went down the coast from san fran to san diego. it was beautiful. Alcatraz, pismo beach, santa barbara, sea world, the zoo, legoland, universal studios! It was great. We stayed in best westerns all through out the trip too! on the way back spent 3 days in anaheim and went to disneyland! Can't wait to do it again!!

Best summer vacation spot ever was the week my family and I spent in Yosemite's Curry Village. it was camping without the hassle of pots and pans, tents and smores (not that any of that is a bad thing) but the village allowed you to rough it in soft sided cabins and still be in the middle of the majestic forest.

Its one of the few vacation spots I could go back to year after year and definitely one of the best road-trip to vacations!

My husband and I took a 2 week road trip along the southern shores of Lake Superior. I've never experienced so much beauty in all of my life. An abundance of wildlife and tranquility, along with a little of mother nature's thunder and lightning across that huge body of water was a wonderful sight to see. I'd take that trip again in a heartbeat!

If I had to choose one place in the world, it would be Kaitaia in the Northern part of New Zealand. The beach is amazing, and you can walk the headlands for privacy. The town is quaint and the people are so friendly. In the USA I would say I really enjoyed Traverse City (Michigan), particularly during the cherry festival. There is the lake, the shopping, the Dunes and so much more to do!

Hawaii. Totally! Maui or Waikiki!

Paso Robles Best Western is spectacular for a 3 day weekend. Make sure to drive along the vineyard covered rolling hill route to Hearst Castle. It is heaven on earth.

Sailing to Saly Spring Island , B.C. from Victoria , B.C. on my brother's 32 ' Ericson sailboat - 3 days of beautiful seas and skies and great company was unforgettable . The tranquility of sailing is unsurpassed and the scenery along the west coast of B.C. is difficult to match .

Waikiki is the best, the family loves it there. So much to do and see.

Panama City Beach on the Fourth Of July is our family's favorite spot.

Friday Harbor on San Juan Island is absolutely wonderful. Stayed at the Best Western Friday Harbor Inn which was really nice. Toured around the island and found some really beautiful spots to spend some time taking in the ocean views. Hiked around the light house and had a picnic lunch. Found a local bar with the best bloody Mary's ever. Dinner was incredible from the service to the food. The ferry ride to the island was so very relaxing with the changing views and the gentle lull of the water. The only thing that would have made the trip better was if we had caught a glipse of an Orca Whale. Now we have to go back!!!

I absolutely love spending time at Treasure Island,Fl.That is my personal escape from my family,headaches and problems.I always feel recharged when i come home.I never get to go there because i am a single mom that stays broke.

Best trip for summer was San Diego. We stayed in Coronado & the hotel had a great jazz buffet! We also biked went to the beach

I love going to San Diego and relaxing on the beach. The best hotel i have stayed at was the Blue sea lodge. Its right in the beach with great views if the ocean. it was nice to sleep at night listening to the ocean. The hotel was great clean and just a great location right by everything. Cant wait to go back.

I loved Hawaii and would love to go back

I think coastal Maine is a great summertime vacation spot. The oceanside beaches that CA and FL have without as many crowds. A northern locale that doesn't get too oppressively hot. Many great day trips in the vicinity, both educational and fun for the family.

Traverse City in MI will always be my favorite place to go in the summertime. The family went there a few years back ..golfing along the crystal blue Traverse Bay, eating cherries at the cherry festival and renting a cottage on the water..pure bliss.

Loved it !! :) DH and our three children went 2 years ago, AMAZING.... took it all in, San Fran...wax museums..Alcatraz... Wineries, Santa Cruz Pier drove down to Big Sur and went horse back riding...Saw Pebble Beach.. went to Jelly Belly factory. Just the best vacation. Not just where we were, but REALLY enjoyed a vacation with the kids, except son (9yrs) threw up in the car with the steep hills in San Fran hehe :)....Most memorable vacation EVER!

My husband & I retired and decided to take a trip in celebration! We left the night we retired and went to South Padre Island, Texas. It is so beautiful there, the beaches are great, the people friendly, and lots of delicious foods at great prices, especially if you love that gulf shrimp!!! This was a vacation that neither of us will ever forget. The feeling of freedom that we both felt from FINALLY retiring and the tropical sun and fun all mixed together made this trip totally unforgettable!!

My wife and I recently took a vacation to Moab to enjoy our anniversary by spending some time on the local trails. Half way though our trip our Jeep suffered an axle break and we were suddenly 250 miles away from home without a vehicle. We ended up renting bikes and touring around the town and then renting a car and visiting Mesa Verde in Colorado. What could have ended as a terrible trip still worked out to be very enjoyable and we can't wait to go back!

We have been fortunate to be able to travel quite a bit and have enjoyed many places in Mexico, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean, as well as right here in the good old USA.

Last summer, we took our first trip to Santa Fe and loved everything about it - the people, the scenery, the food.

It is the PERFECT vacation spot for us.

We felt like we had arrived home. I am sure we will take many more trips there in the future and even retire there some day.

Our family loves trips to Galveston, Texas. There are so many things to do besides the beach.

Most fun summer trip was to New York to ride a cruise ship with the Regis and Kelly Show down the East Coast to Florida. It was great to travel in style and see celebs at their finest.. lol

I love going to the bahamas . That place is beautiful

The most fun we ever had on summer vacation was at the Bay of Fundy in Canada. It was a scheduled stop on our return trip from Nova Scotia (which was also great fun), so we weren't expecting a lot from the destination. When we arrived, tide was in and that meant that we could kayak in the ocean. A few short hours later, when tide was out, we were walking on the bottom of the same ocean. This was no low tide like we had ever seen! We had to decend nearly a hundred stairs to reach land. The landscape was orange sand -carved away over time to resemble enormous plant pots. The ground was squishy and it ate my shoe! It took some acrobatics to remove it without having anything else sink into the ground. It was beautiful landscape both during high and low tides and we still laugh about the shoe that I almost left behind!

NEWPORT, RI

The most fun vacation I ever had was when I went to Orlando for a week with my husband. We went to Sea World which I loved! Sea world was beautiful. We visited Busch Gardens in Tampa that was incredible to me so much fun seeing all the animals. I could of stayed there two days. :) We also went to Universal Studios and I again had a blast riding the rides! One of the nights we just walked down this long main road everyone was out walking and seeing the palm trees and ppl watching was great. We stopped in a local like bar the people were very nice. Going to Florida with my husband was fabulous and would love to go and do it all over again someday.

My family and I took a trip when I was 16 that I will never forget. My Dad closed down his business and we took off from Oregon with a van and tent trailer and drove across the United States to the East Coast stopping at landmarks along the way and then on up into Canada. I was 16 so of course I did not want to go but now I'm so glad I did and it was one of the fondest memories I have with my family. My favorite place has to be the Grand Canyon. It is so beautiful and magestic - Amazing!

Not only was it the best summer vacation, but probably the best vacation i'll ever have. I wish I could do it all over again! Disney World was perfect and all the Premium Outlet shopping was amazing.

Buzios, Brazil

Barcelona. In the past 20 years Barcelona has gone from being a large industrial city to overtake Madrid as the vibrant heart of Spain. The architecture of Gaudi, the Gothic quarter, the cafes of the Ramblas, the museums and art galleries, not to mention the nearby beaches and mountains, make it the perfect city destination.

Punta Cana.... Majestic Resort... we were there for our sons wedding at wanted to stay longer.. First holiday for us in 16 years .. would love to go back and just be the two of us.

One summer, our family of 6 flew to Halifax, N.S. with 2 hockey bags filled with a tent, sleeping bags and our clothing. We rented a van and began our 3 week camping trip through Nova Scotia, Cape Breton, PEI and New Brunswick. We picked up a few needed items for camping from garage sales we happened upon. The people we met, the sights we saw, the events such as the jazz festival and firemen's dinner in Lunenberg and the challenges of taking down a tent as quickly as we could in hurricane force winds all made this the most incredibly fun and memorable family holiday.

Disneyland in Anaheim California. No matter how old you get, you are always brought back to childhood with the magic of that place!

We LOVE Texas!! Good friends in Dallas, Austin and Houston....so we can just travel from one city to another and always have a great time!

Finally after years of begging my husband , we went to Cancun area two years ago, I just loved it, and...so did he!!! We went back last year again, hoping to go again this year. "Other than that, I love driving thru the rockies every summer to visit my daughter in wonderful Calgary.

The beautiful red sand, lovely beaches and friendly people made Prince Edward Island my favourite summer holiday location.

Newport Beach is the best! It keeps calling me back - a year without being there is like a year without sunshine! The beach, the weather, the smell of BBQs, the ocean, the atmosphere, the scenery, the shopping - it's all so rejuvenating! I love it and I now have friends and family going there too!

Without a doubt our best vacation was our European tour. We spent 2 weeks traveling around with a bus load of crazy Canadians...what a blast

We love the carribean islands, in particular Cuba. The beaches are white and clean, the people friendly and honest and the weather is fabulous. There's just nothing like lying under a palm tree, sipping a chilled drink and watching the ocean.

Prague. The City is amazing as it was totally undamaged in the war! Just walking around in the summer weather is wonderful and eating out on patios with history all around you - and there is a castle!

Myrtle Beach summer time anytime. Sun, Ocean and fun. Good food lots to do.

Celebrating our 50th Anniversary on an 18 day Panama Canal cruise was a spectacular way to mark such an auspicious occasion, and then to arrive home to an unexpected visit from our whole family was too much to expect.

Rome, Italy. We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Canada and enjoyed their wonderful breakfast to start each memorable day.

August 2009, our family was travelling our 'last' family vacation, my daughter was heading off to college and we wanted to do some visiting with our U.S.A. neighbours. We settled on Plymouth, MA. We stayed in Plymouth for 8 wonderful days at the Best Western in Cold Spring, MA. It was a chalet style setting with a unique homestyle to it. We lounged at the pool, ate the fabulous all inclusive breakfast buffet each morning, went to the beach and for the first time in our lives watched the tide come in and go out. We toured the Ocean and went on our first ever whale watch on Cpt. John's boat tour. For our 'last' family vacation, we did a lot of 'firsts'...our children, 15 and 17, enjoyed every minute of our holiday. We ate lobster at the Lobster Hut, right on the ocean and paid only $11 US dollars for a complete meal. We are from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, we have visited many historical sites in the USA and this was one of the most pleasant, quiet, quaint and homey places we have ever seen. We cannot wait to return, just my husband and I...soon we will be empty nesters and will do alot more 'firsts' together. Thank you. Colleen Stone.

Montreal any time of the year except winter as it's really cold. A fabulous city to wander and the restaurants are the finest.

Las Vegas cause it has it all ,warm weather and entertainment

Although we live close to Shuswap Lake, for many years it was the best place ever to take our R.V. & just kick back. Swimming, boating, picnicing, & just total relaxation. Best of all was when family from Alberta would come out for a mini reunion. It was cousin time, & the grand-parents had a wonderful time spoiling us all.

The best summer vacation for me is one spent with my family camping, usually in the Rockies...high energy days and nights capped off with quiet contentment and a campfire.

5 years ago and every summer since.... Playland and the PNE in Vancouver.... Love the logride!!

The best summer vacation was a trip my wife and I took to NYC. So much to see and do that the time flew by in a flash. I also got to run the half marathon through Central Park and Times Square. What a great feeling. We can hardly wait for our return visit!

The best summer vacation destination for me and my wife was Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina in the same trip. Southern U.S. hospitality, charm and history was truly a gem to discover for us.

My husband and I do road trips every summer. Our best summer road trip was following Route 1 from New York to Maine. We went with no hotel reservations, and stopped for the night when we found we were tired. The scenery along the northeast coast was beautiful. We even had to detour into Canada one night to sleep, as we were pretty far north in Maine, with no lodging options.. We found a wonderful Best Western in Canada, and got the last room still available in that hotel.

My best Summer was someplace not far away or exotic but a very down to earth outdoorsy type setting located locally to us in Sisters, Oregon. We rented a nice little cabin in Sisters and took our Mountain Bikes where we rode into the Descutes National Forest biking next to the River. Coming back we were all sweaty and dirty from the dust, we took a break at a little cove and that is where he took out an engagement ring and proposed to me. After 5 years we still go back every Summer and Winter to Sisters, Oregon and count down to our annual trip each time we return.

Best one was our summer trip from our home of San Antonio, Texas to Salt Lake City, Utah, where we could be COLD . . . unheard of in cowboy country! We even saw snow in July. A very COOL trip in every sense of the word!

My best summer was the one I spent in Honolulu, HI. I loved the beaches and the mountains, not to mention all the gorgeous flowers!

We have not had much opportunity to travel much, but the best vacation we have had was Maui, Hawaii.. Beautiful island. We visted 2 other islands on that trip, but Maui was awesome. Would love to go back or Aruba.. someday...

Geelong Australia - its a city that is about 45 minutes from Melbourne if you want the big city - the city itself has a lovely waterfront, shopping, and if you take a shor drive outside of the city you got lovely beaches that you can walk miles and miles!

Everytime I head over to PEI in the summer period I never want to make my way back. You have to love the beautiful beaches and friendly environment.

When I read the other best holidays mine seems to be kind of tame but
we went to the Okagnon in British Columbia and had a really fun vacation with the family, spending time on the beach, picking fruit from the orchards, visiting wineries, playing mini golf and on and on. The weather
was sunny and hot and the lakes were beauiful. We are so lucky to live
in Canada

I remember when!!
Do I have memories...Wow, from when I was a little girl going to Ministic Lake in Levack, Onaping Ontario Canada. My Auntie and Uncle owned an Island in the Lake. No electricity - outhouse and the back deck was built around the trees. It was awesome, We even hand pumped the water from the lake to the cottage.
It was a treat of a life time.. I would love to take my girls there and have them experience the same. The cottage is updated a bit but you still have to stand on the kitchen table to light the propane lights to see at night. My Uncle has passed since but Auntie still owns the cottage.
Those were the good ole days!

I think I'd have to say Florida. Between Universal studios/Walt Disney World, Daytona Beach, St. Pete's Beach, St. Petersburg, etc. (You see where I'm going with this.) There is so much history and fun things to do in Florida. It was the best family vacation because there was something interesting & fun for all ages!

Our best summer trip was to Chicago last summer. We had an amazing time and would lov e to go back there any time!

At Lake Ozette, we took the 9 mile Cape Alava Loop trail--and it was like a different world! The mostly flat boardwalk path was an easy hike through the forest to the beach at Sandy Point, and the views of this part of the unusually calm coastline (kelp beds?) were beautiful. We had the beach to ourselves, except for the deer we nearly tripped over; we saw bright colored sponges and odd prehistoric looking beach critters we'd never heard of, and had to buy an audobon book to identify them when we got back to civilization. We found floats, rock fishing weights, Indian rock writings, and saw many eagles and racoons along the way. It was an adventure we all loved and will return to one day to relive the fun.

Estes Park, Colorado. Took my girlfriend to her hometown for her mother's 70th birthday. Great thing about it, it's Estes Park, Co! I had the time of my life fly fishing the river during the day, the kids got shuttled into Denver to the waterpark, and my girlfriend got to shop to her hearts content in Ft. Collins, Denver, etc etc, etc. We shared beautiful nights in Estes Park, close to friends and family, under the beautiful northern stars, amongst the sturdy Colorado pines. Great time, can't wait to do it again. Thanks Best Western!!

My favorite summer destination is New York City. We were able to spend 8 glorious days during August 2005 to celebrate our 35th anniversary and that was not enough time to see everything so we want to return some day to see and do those things we missed.

Kelowna British Columbia is where it's at. The beaches, the beautiful lakes, the camping, the golf, the wineries...you really can't beat this.

Huntington Beach, CA @ the Regency Inn. Best place in state to cruise the CA coast

The most memorable summer vacation for us was a trip to the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia. We discovered by cayaking the coves of Jervis Inlet, Howe Sound and Desolation Sound. The best part was the peninsula and island hopping by ferry, first to Gibson and Sechelt than to Powel River that rook us across the waters of the Strait of Geargia to Comox, on Vancouver Island. There are so many parks and beaches to explore and we really enjoyed the seafood and delishious fresh wild sockeye salmon we bought directly from fisherman. It would be nice to feel again an ocean breeze on our faces.

My best vacation was when my husband and I were going home from an assignment in the Philippines Island of 2 yrs where we missed the comforts of the good ole U.S.A and we decided to stop in Honolulu, Hawaii for 8 days. We basked in the comforts of Waikiki Beach going to luaus, tours, parks and seeing the Arizona Memorial. We ate at all the fast food restaurants and steak houses because for 2 yrs we didn't get to indulge. We felt like we were in Paradise and it was. Hawaii was so beautiful then.

Absolutely the best for us was the Florida Keys. We went to all of the islands, stayed overnight on three of them. Never wanted to leave! Our favorite was Islamorada. If anyone has never spent time down there...it's definitely the place to get away from it all!

New York City was my favorite I was volunteering on a dance trip with my daughter and I loved the sights, the arts, the architecture, the shopping, the food and the people. I only wish I had more time that was not scheduled with activities for the kids. It was an amazing experience i will never forget.

Most memorable vacation for us was going to Colorado for white water rafting. The scenery, wonderful weather and the fun of shooting the rapids. Doesn't get better than that.

Who could not have the most fun in Hawaii? Been there 3 times now.....baggage delayed twice...but who cares because you always have the sun, the shops, the sea, warmth, friendly service, great food, did I mention the shopping? It is a place that just keeps getting better. We would move there if we didn't live in the Okanagan. And I know now why the Best Western Waikiki Coconut is rated #1 by Trip Advisor.

One summer, when I was pregnant, my husband and I went to Salzburg, Austria. It was absolutely wonderful! We went up a steep funicular to Festung Hohensalzburg castle and saw all of Salzburg. What a view! Then we went to the town square (Mozartplatz) below and looked at some local art while we ate Apple Strudel. One of the artist who was selling his paintings came up to me and jokingly in broken English said that I was being too "dainty" while eating my strudel and that I needed to take bigger bites. My husband thought this was funny and got out the camera and took a picture of this artist pushing my hand (holding the strudel) into my mouth. I still have that picture and it makes me laugh every time I look at it. We enjoyed our trip so much that a year and a half later we went back to Salzburg and back to Mozartplatz to buy a strudel and we saw the same artist. Well, he actually remembered us! He came up to me and asked me how our baby was and told me how pretty I was when I was pregnant! We bought a beautiful painting of Salzburg from him and we have it hanging in our house to remember our lovely trips to Salzburg!

Family loves the east coast of Canada. We have walked on the ocean floor at Hopewell Rocks, enjoyed the beauty of Cape Breton, Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and Mahone Bay but our favourite destination is PEI. Enjoy walking through Charlottetown, beautiful driving thru the countryside, pottery shops and especially the beaches of the north shore where the kids can pick up different sea shells.

The best and most beautiful place I have ever been is Jamaica and we're going back in January 2011. This time to stay with new found friends instead of a fancy resort.

Pelican Bar built on a coral reef not far from Black River Jamaica is the most unique place I have ever been.

The first time I traveled to Tennessee I fell in love. I sold my home and moved here. I have never looked back. I visit Ca now to see family but their is nothing like the South. I have and do travel all the us, canada and have been to Mexico. Someday when I feel safe in Mexico I will go to Mexico City. For now the Smokie Mountains remains a favorite place for my entire family to go for a day/weekend/long term.

Cincinnati, Oh. for its laid back lifestyle and great family

Cheyenne, Wyoming for Cheyenne Frontier Days end of July first part of August. Had a wonderful time at the Rodeos, Parades, Chuck Wagon Races, night time arena Concerts and the amazing outdoor Pancake Breakfast that served thousands. Have been several times and always willing to go back again.

our best summer vacation is going up to Saratoga to play golf. It is great just to relax and be away from all the hassle, even though we are both retired.

My most memorable summer vacation is Kennebunkport Maine-we rented a summer cabin on the beach and spent the lazy days riding our bicycles along the coast eating fresh lobster and just "hangin". The sunsets are amazing and the beaches are beautiful. Toured Bar Harbor, went to President George Bush's home and toured the colorful gardens that adorn the million dollar homes facing the ocean.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the BW la Porte de France in Bouillon, Luxembourg. Here is a place of history and culture. And gorgeous scenery - we had a most enjoyable and relaxing afternoon canoeing, and we even saw a family of swans on the river.

While Disney World, Hershey Park and New York City trips were memorable----the MOST fun I have had was a trip to Bremerton, Washington to see my brother, who I had not seen in ten years.....we went to Mt. St. Helens, visited small towns in the area, went on the ferry, went to a Seattle Mariners Ball Game, and reconnected with each other (he is retired Navy so many, many years had passed between our connections throughout the years).

Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall, BW /FMB has it all !!! Just ask my Jack Russell Sally. It is a Pet Friendly Hotel and We all have the best time there. It is beautiful and the staff goes above and beyond. Right now with all that is going on in the Gulf, it is sad to see the animals suffer the most. FMB is one of the most beautiful beaches on the gulf coast of Florida and there is no oil effecting it right now and we pray it stays that way. If it happens we will still keep our reservations for Labor Day. There is plently of things to do and the pool is so refreshing !!! "Hey Coco, Sally says Hello ! "

Several years ago, my husband and I spent some time in Kenya, Africa, which was amazing. We spent a great deal of time in the game preserves, with our lodging at the base of mount kenya. One of my fondest memories was eating a most delicious meal at a trattoria in Nairobi while watching a world cup match on tv.

Key West!!.. This is the best place my family has been too. I visit this place most summers but can get enough of it.

We loved our fly/drive trip thru the west visiting Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Mesa Verde with lots of stops in between. The kids said we would have to go some to "top" that trip!

Dillsboro North Carolina in the smoky Mts.. White water, water falls, trout, scenery, easy living, rafting, swimming, hiking,canoeing, congenial residents and business owners. Lots to do or not..it is all up to you.

We took our grandkids & family, to New Hampshire. (santa,s village & storyland). We had a marvelous & exciting time. The view is exceptional.It was so nice to spend qaulity time ,with family. What great memories. We hope to be able to do it again.

Siesta Key Beach, Sarasota, Florida. Beautiful Beach, awesome weather, good times with good friends.

My husband and I went to Nashville TN for a few days last year. We had so much fun checking out the downtown area. We walked all day. We went into every place we could find. We ate, we shopped and then we went to see a Jason Mraz concert. It was wonderful weather the entire visit.

My best vacation....Our wedding at Hanelei Bay, Kauau, and then the next four days visiting the Kilauea lighthouse, seeing Waimea Canyon, kayaking on the Wailua River with a swim at the falls, and horseback riding. Then off to Maui for five days where we enjoyed whale watching, snorkeling, horseback riding at Mendes Ranch with our awesome guide Roy, driving the curvy road to Hana, a fun Luau, and a helicoptor tour of the island. We visited several beaches and had some very good food on both islands. This was a fabulous vacation with my wonderful husband.

I have taken many vacations "out west", so it's hard to choose, but one that I keep dreaming of going back to is Capital Reef National Park. The red, orange, purple, pink and yellow rocks (yes, all those colors and more) are so different from my home in the Northeast, and the fresh air, quiet and solitude made it the perfect place to "recharge my batteries." You can just feel the native American history in the atmosphere, and to see their pictographs on the rocks gave me chills. I would love to back!

My son says Hawaii. We were fortunate to island hop. It was fun to seek out green, and black sand beaches. We loved to walk along the beach, go snorkeling, and shop at the quaint villages. The fresh coffee, macadamia, and fruit was sensational and the people were friendly.

I say the Sacramento area was charming. Beautiful old Sac had so much character along the river, the railroad museum has to be world class, and many restaurants and shopping, and long trails along the river that just don't stop! getting out onto the old 49er route and panning for gold in Pine Grove for a week was probably the tops! The scenery, ranch and farm land, the vineyards knock your socks off in a rural atmosphere. Old mine sites and touring underground just gets you to appreciate the enduring times our generations before us dealt with. Lots of history, in a fun low stress atmosphere. Go, you gotta get out there!

OUR FAMILY'S # 1 SUMMER HOT SPOT IS PENSACOLA BEACH, FLORIDA. SINCE THE KIDS HAVE BEEN TEENS, WE ALWAYS LET THEM CHOOSE WHERE THEY WANTED TO GO ON VACATION AND THEY ALWAYS CHOSE PENSACOLA BEACH, FL. THE BEACHES ARE SOME OF THE MOST PRISTINE IN THE WORLD, I DO BELIEVE, AND THE WATERS ARE TURQUOISE BLUE!! IT IS A VERY LAID BACK ATMOSPHERE AND THE BEACHES ARE NEVER REALLY CROWDED. THERE IS LOTS OF FUN THINGS TO DO AROUND THE ISLAND AND MANY MEMORIES TO CHERISH. GOD WILLING, WE WILL BE BACK MANY YEARS TO COME.

Outer Banks was the best family vacation. So much to do, plus swim in various venues-- pool, ocean and sound.

My favorite holiday was when I went to Ireland. The secondary winding roads along the coast lead to beautiful scenery and surprise castles and ruins on every turn. The towns are live with interaction between the visitors and locals who are willing to share stories and lead you to your next adventure.
At night the pubs are rocking with traditional music and you find yourself wanting to be Irish. The food is to die for. Amazing Irish breakfasts and later in the day wild salmon and banofee pie (my favorite). Classy crafts, wool and marble, crystal and lace. When you leave you take a piece of Ireland with you and leave a piece of yourself behind.

My husband and I have lived and travelled to many , many interesting places on the globe, but most recently were able to spend 5 days in Newfoundland. I think that this is one of Canada's most unsung wonders. The people are so friendly, the pace is more relaxed and thehistory and scenery spectacular. This is definately a province worth much more exploration. I'd love to do a B&B tour all over this great land.

During the summer of 2001, my first sightseeing tour of Washington, DC was the most lifechanging trip of my life! Never really interested in history, much less government and politics, my friend with a history degree opened my eyes to the awe of our nation's capital. Every monument, every statue, every Smithsonian museum, Ford's Theatre, Arlington National Cemetery and many more sites made a permanent place in my heart. I am no scholar, but I am now an informed US citizen on many matters I was once embarrasingly ignorant. And I have been back to DC countless times since, multiple times a year, to learn more and to introduce friends who were much like myself. When a destination inspires a thrist for knowledge, an informed and deep feeling of patriotism, and a genuine love and understanding for your own country, how could you not LOVE it?!! Washington DC is full of fun and free things to do! I could NEVER be bored there and am absolutely positive I will continue to visit over and over and over!

Key West, Florida...laid back tropical paradise where normal rules do not apply, no passport needed and you can drive there.

My family and I had a few extra days to get back home, so we decided to stop off at Daytona Beach, Florida. Wouldn't you know bike week had just ended, and all the booths were packing up to leave, offering fantastic deals on shirts, hats, and just about everything else you can think of.
My wife and kids were in their glory! We decided to look for a nice place to stay, near the beach. What a great idea that was! We found the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn and were upgraded to a beach facing suite!! (It pays to be a Best Western Elite member!)
Needless to say, we had the time of our lives....Driving on the beach, shopping, sightseeing, and just basically relaxing and enjoying ourselves.
This is a memory that should last forever!

I love Montreal, Quebec in the summer. Walking through Old Montreal is so beautiful and fun. The sights, sounds and smells are so wonderful. Montreal is so full of life and bustling with things to do and see. Their are some terrific places to eat, which is also very important in our vacation plans. If you don't have the cash to travel to Paris, a trip to Montreal may be a terrific substitute

Coastal South Carolina is the best! It has wide stretches of sandy beaches, the historic sites of Charleston and Beaufort, beautiful plantations, and great food. There is something for every member of the family.

I can remember days when we would take a dip in the ocean and do a little shell collecting first thing in the morning. Then we'd have a delicious southern breakfast (ham, eggs, biscuits) and spend the day touring some of the historic Civil War sites and museums during the day. Our evenings were finished off with some Carolina low-country specialties, such as shrimp and grits, and peach cobbler for dessert. They were very memorable vacations and, of course, we always stayed at a Best Western.

Boracay, Philippines! Gorgeous, cheap (once you're there) and so relaxing. I've never seen a more beautiful beach.

Oh my gosh! The best vacation ever was this past May 2010 when we stayed at the Best Western Beach Resort in Fort Myers, Florida. It was everything we asked for and more. I read about it on Trip Advisor and other sites before flying to Florida from Minnesota to stay there. It was a perfect dream vacation. Very, very clean resort, wonderful pool, great staff, nice rooms, continental breakfast. We couldn's have asked for more. We want to go back as soon as we can and take our other family members. Can't say enough good stuff about it!! It was paradise!

Charleston, SC - great walking tours, mansions, beautiful beaches, good restaurants. Something for everyone. Such a beautiful city; we didn't want to leave and are looking forward to going back for another visit.

St. John, US, Virgin Islands

New York City of course! The hustle of all the people is so cool! Met alot of people along the way and had some good laughs. I would go there every weekend if I could!

St. Thomas Virgin Islands. This was the first time I'd ever seen clear water before, and it was amazing. "Postcard beaches," w/ sand like flour and waters that were crystal clear. Great snorkeling and good food too!! Extremely relaxing.

The most fun vacation has always been Disney World and we keep returning there every few years to see what's new. For relaxing, the Great Smoky Mountains area is a beautiful place to visit. But "Fun" is a very personal concept, and obviously we don't need a beach to have fun.

Me and my boyfriend went down to Fort Lauderdale, FL this past summer and it was a trip of a lifetime. We stayed at the BW Oceanside Inn. It was right on the beach and was so relaxing. Their pool and free breakfast was great. Also, I liked the fact that they had a phone right by the front door to call a cab and it was there in minutes. I liked the location of this hotel because you could walk right down to the main blvd. in Fort Lauderdale and just sightsee, eat at restaurants right on the beach or shop in the little stores. It was a wonderful trip and Best Western made it even better. Thanks!

Hawaii is really "paradise". We went for the first time in the mid 90's to celebrate my wife's "cancer free" report! We stayed on Oahu and the Big Island. The kids begged to go back. Since then we have taken a total of 5 trips to Hawaii!! The last trip was for our daughter to have her "dream wedding" in Hawaii. She got married at Turtle Point on the Big Island. The funny part about this trip was my wife and daughter each broke a toe on their right foot before the wedding.

Every time we go, we find something we have not seen before. Also, on the last trip, we discovered on the Big Island, the "Hawaiian Style Cafe" for locals. Yum!!! Such HUGE servings,too.

Hawaii is definitely a place we could go back to. We never get tired of it.

Vegas Baby.

Myrtle Beach, SC...myself and other travel partners made Myrtle Beach our early summer one week vacation for several years. Each year we would fly to Charleston, rent a car and settle in at Myrtle Beach the entire week before Memorial Day weekend. We relaxed, visited many small beach communities , Charleston and enjoyed the peaceful beach (much wider then) as well as the activities on Myrtle's board walk. We would arrive the weekend that the yearly bikers were leaving town. The people who live in Myrtle Beach were very hospitable and friendly.

Cancun Mexico. My girlfried and I traveled to Cancun this past May. We have a great time. Everything about the place, the resort, ocean, palm trees, white beaches, weather, etc... was just awesome. To make it even better on the 3rd day of our vacation we got engaged. Can't wait to visit again!

I've been many places but when I vacationed in Nashville, Tenn. I fell in love with the laid back lifestyle and the music at every turn. And, not just country music-there was some of all of it--great fun and definitely worth doing again!

Last summer we flew into Vegas, then drove to the Grand Canyon then to
Los Angeles and up the coast to San Francisco. One stop was in a small town called Pacifica and we stayed in the Best Western right on the beach. It was beautiful to sit on the beach and watch the waves. There were small cliffs we climbed on both side of the beach. We were sorry we only stayed one night. The staff was so friendly and remembered our names. Kids loved that they had fresh made chocolate chips cookies set out every afternoon. I love the fact that Best Western puts on a lovely full breakfast which we took full advantage of.

My husband and I love Mystic Connecticut. We love the harbor area and the great shopping. My husband is a golfer and loves the great courses there. I love to gamble so we always hit Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun nearby. Great seafood abounds in this area. I'm also a lighthouse lover and there are so many great ones to see in the entire New England area.

Walt Disney World followed by a Disney Cruise!

My visit to the Netherlands was the most memorable. I was able to see the birthplace of my mother who was born there in 1895 and the home of my father's family. Gathering information on my ancestry was just one of the joys of this visit. The other being experieincing the beauty of this little country. "You have to have been there to believe it".

We love Toronto and the area. We are going back this summer and taking the kids to Marineland. Everyone is just thrilled and can't wait to leave! "How many days left, mom?"

I loved going to Deadwood in South Dakota. There was so much stuff to do there that I think that we could visit many more times and not find all that there is to do. Mount Rushmore is something that everyone should see!

I love going to Las Vegas. It is a beautiful city. I love it at night time where you can see the beautiful lights on the building. So much you can do there. I love the place.

My favourite destination has to be the small town on Nurburg, Germany. It's not great because of the town itself, but because of the world famous racetrack - the Nurburgring - runs right beside the town. I don't think many North Americans know that any licensed driver can drive the storied Nordeschleife, but they can. Last summer I rented a BMW M3 to race the track and it was absolutely unforgettable. The track is also very close to the Rhine River where there are dozens of castles dotting the river valley, many of which can be toured. If that's not enough, the food and beer should convince you to visit the area!

Oregon coast. I have great memories of times spent there growing up. We went for New Years for years. I had my 16th birthday there. Spent my honeymoon there. miss it!

Any place I can go with my husband and children! We have so much fun together! Biking, camping, hiking, the beach or a nice little town that we decide to stay in...where ever the car leads us. Happy traveling!

My daughters and I made a trip to Duluth/Superior and really enjoyed it. Relaxing time at the water's edge, the bridges, museums and visit to a light house were all fun for us midwesterners to see, and gave us an almost oceanside experience without traveling as far as the east or west coast. The drive there was scenic as well with tree lined highways. We hope to go back again someday!

For me, the most fun place to visit is the Happiest Place on Earth - Disneyland!

Marco Island, Florida. Relaxing on soft sands. Playing in the warm gulf waters. Our first time going out on jet skis and spotting a manatee. Fabulous.

We love Rockport, TX. The beach is kid friendly and there are many other things to do with the little ones. We like to make a couple of mini vacations throughout the year. We make new memories each trip!!!

Our families favourite summer trip of all time was a trip to the Maritimes. My family and I always have thought that this was our best family trip.

Time spent on the west coast in Olympic National Park with our grandson and friend was absolutely the best. Being from the cornfields of the midwest, we were enchanted by Ruby Beach and the "sea stacks" on the Pacific Coast.

My favorite summer vacation of all has been to Florida. We enjoyed 10 days of the most fantastic sites and activities from the top to the bottom of the state. We started out in Orlando spending several days doing all the theme parks in the area. Then over to the Gulf coast to Tarpon Springs to explore the sponge docks, was like being in Greece. We went to a Kumquat festival inland and then drove to the highest spot in Florida and saw a Carillon, a musical instrument that rings bells, it's housed in Bok Tower, in Lake Wales, FL. We drove down to many towns with gardens and museums, went to the Corkscrew Swamp and various wildlife parks, visited the Everglades National Park and others, and swam with and saw Manatees.

One of the best trips my husband and I took was when we went to Tuscany for one month. We started out in Rome for 3 days and then we rented a car. We looked at the map and said, "where shall we go tomorrow?" Once we decided we drove through the beautiful countryside until we found a place we liked near our destination and either stayed at a "farmhouse B&B" or went to the local tourist office and got a referral. Then we stayed for a while or left whenever we decided it was time.
One place was a converted convent up a curvey dirt road to the top of a mountain with several rooms decorated and named for a flower. Beautiful. There was a large greatroom for all to use and the views were great.
Another place was owned by an artist and we were the only guests. The home was decorated with her artwork of all mediums and we purchased a small vase to remember our stay there. She cooked bacon and eggs for our breakfast. She washed our clothes when we were out. We spoke no Italian and she spoke no English, but my husband and she managed to have some conversations in French. We stayed there several days.
We met many wonderful people who either owned B&Bs or restaurants.
We visited many churches. We went to the big cities: Padua, Venice, Florence, etc. We stayed in rural areas, like the Rieti Valley. We saw the marble mountains/quarries of Carrera and the marble mining museum. We drove past the bike teams training for the Giro near Lago de Garda. We will never forget that vacation.
Carol in Florida

Fort Bragg, California was the neatest little town I have ever stayed in. My husband and I watched the sun set over the Pacific Ocean every evening from the deck of our room. It was a beautiful sight. The weather in June was so cool that we had to purchase light jackets to wear in the evenings. I wish we had more time to spend there and definitely plan on returning.

Sonoma Valley

Put-In-Bay, Ohio... It is our own little "Key West" in Lake Erie. An island, a night life, a wonderfully historical place to explore in the day...I love PIB. Makes for a great get-a-way!

My husband and I take a few vacations every year and are always delighted to find a Best Western along the way.

This year's destination is Osoyoos BC and through our travels we have found three BW's along the way.

Our roadtrips through the Canadian Rockies and BC Okanagan area are always our best and most relaxing vacations.

Over the years I have traveled in the U.S. and Europe, but my big favorite is San Carlos, Sonora Mexico. A 6 hour drive from our home in Tucson, AZ, San Carlos is a water person's paradise. Sailing, snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking - you can do them all in San Carlos, where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez.. Many places to stay - most fairly reasonable - good food, and a small town which lends itself to easy navigation. Unless you are there during the week of Easter, it is never crowded. Mexico has gotten a bad rap in the U.S. media, but don't let that put you off; we have traveled to San Carlos countless times since 2004 without incidence. Just got back and can't wait to return!

There is no better vacation location then Hawaii. Fun, warm, safe, same money and no problems, diseases or kidnapping.

Key West- This is one of the great vacation areas in the country. We went snorkeling, kayaking, pub crawling, watching the fabulous sunsets, etc.
We enjoyed the Ernest Hemingway house and have watched several of the movies based on his books after we returned home from the vacation.

The best I can remember is when I was a kid and my parents would take us all to Pigeon Forge Tenn. We would meet up with all the family and go to Silver Dollar City ( Dollywood Now) it was a great time then on over to the Smokies.

My wife and I had the greatest Summer in London & Paris. The sun was shining all the time (yes, even in London) and we had picnics along the Seine and next to the Eiffel Tower. Very romantic :-)

San Diego, CA - Surfing, Sun Seals and Seaworld. Kids love it and weather is always great.

Kauai, Hawaii. The best vacation paradise EVER!

Trip to Giant Sequoia National Monument in California. The trees were unbelieveable huge. Plus a side trip to Yosemite National Park, It's a trip I will never forget.

My family's favorite vacation spot is the north shore of Lake Superior, anyplace from Duluth to Grand Portage. We have stayed in many different resorts and cabins, and the lake is always welcoming, whether it is a beautiful sunny day or a thunderstorm with watching lightning over the lake. Great wildlife, great hiking, just a great all-inclusive trip. Also,we used our fold-up bikes for the first time this summer going on the fantastic trails. Great place for families or just for a romantic weekend getaway.

Summer vacation fun is, dining in Las Vegas Nevada. Along with the best cusine add the 24 hour action and the cool dry desert mornings and I have a great vacation.

Rome! I stayed at the BW President with my sister and it was good location to walk to some of the sites.

The best trip Ive ever had was my 9 day trip to Maui for my honeymoon.
Everything was perfect. The weather was sunny every single day,
we watched the most beautiful sunsets over the beach and ocean.
Scuba diving only 30 feet from our patio, we swam with 8 GIANT sea turtles and hundreds of fish 5 out of the 9 days.
Food was delicious everywhere, and we slept like king and queen on the most comfortable bed ever!
It was litterally a dream come true!
I tried to convince my new husband that we could just sell our return tickets and stay forever!
Im already planning our next trip out there now!

Maui, Hawaii

my husband and I have not been anywhere before or since that has given us the same longing to go back. The breeze was filled with warm and tropical scents. The colors were splashed with vibrancy and life that made everyday like a little slice of heaven. The waters were pure and sands clean! The locals are some of the nicest, most laid back people around. This is a vacation!

My family and friends love Busch Gardens/Water Country in Williamsburg, VA. It is only a few hours drive and we love the roller coasters and shows at Busch Gardens, then we get to cool off at Water Country. There are also many great restaurants nearby and of course shopping in Williamsburg. What more could you ask for?

Then if you get the urge to go to the beach just jump in the car and you are there in about an hour. It just keeps getting better. The last time we stayed at a BW right on the water. It was great and caught another few hours at the park on the way home. We all had such a great time, can't wait to go again this summer.

The best place that my husband and I have gone would be Savannah, GA. We walked just about everywhere we went and there was a lot of places that we couldn't get to because we did not have enough time. I really enjoyed the walk on the riverfront. We did stay at the Best Western. We also enjoyed our stay in Virginia at the Best Western. That is when my nephew got married. There is a lot of pretty places around Virginia to see.

USA!! No place like it! So much to see in every state!! Can't wait to take another cross country trip!

Western Pennsylvania, the great outdoors including fishing,hiking, campfires and family. It is a great get away from the 100 degree weather and city life that we live in. My family always ends the vacation begging for Just one more day.

Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Beautiful scenery, both beaches and mountains and wonderful, friendly people.

Not sure what to pick as a great summer vacation.. but cooler climes certainly come to mind. St. Moritz in Switzerland, the Austrian Alps, Bavaria in Germany, Colorado.. Wyoming... no place too hectic.

My best place for summer vacation is Ashland, Oregon. Small friendly
college town, with ongoing Shakespeare festivals. In the mountains,
with wonderful weather, but only about an hour from the Pacific ocean.
Bicycle friendly, with Lithia Park, a supurb 5 mile long wooded park
with a clear mountain streem running throughout. Prices for
everything are reasonable. A lovely place.

Santa Barbara, Ca. is the best place to shop relax and have fun, everything is within walking distance. And people are so nice. We went there when i was pregnant and we have been back almost every 2 months...love it.

Monterey California and the area around it has my vote. The ocean, the town is charming, Big Sur, Pebble Beach, and all the vineyards so close. Love Monterey!!!

Lake Michigan - the beaches are so crisp and clean. I'm fortunate to live so near to the majestic waters and the gorgeous beaches. The sand is amazing, the water is clear and you don't have to worry about sea creatures. Welcome to Michigan!

The favorite place for a vacation is definately Boulder, Colorado. The scenery is fantastic, the air is clear, and there is always something to do in that area, summer or winter.

Orlando, Florida

We love Ocean City, Maryland. We go almost every year and have been for the last 10 years. There is so much there. The water is perefect and the beaches and boardwalk are nice too! Aseteague Island is nearby. The drive is not long from where we are. It's great.

We love spending holidays at Radium, AB. especially going to hot pools.
We are fortunate to live 3 hours away, and we go as many times as we can in the summer.

San Diego

Love the beaches, lots of thing to do, baseball, night life easy trip by plane does not take long! San Diego is the wsay to go!

We don't generally get to take summer vacations as that's the time of year we work - we're commercial fishermen. So for the best summer vacation I'd say right here at home, Sitka, Alaska, and Southeast Alaska in general.

Beautiful Bermuda -- The sun and sand, the sky and water, the Bermudians and their friendliness. Top this off with the fact that you can leave from pretty much anywhere from Maine to South Carolina and be
on the beach in 3 hours. Can't be beat.

San Diego, CA keeps us coming back. The kids are busy at Seaworld, we all love the beach, and the many museums and other activities keep us stimulated.

I assume you mean summer in the northern hemisphere, so my answer would be Venice during the Biennale. Venice is special at any time, but three weeks when the art show with the outlying venues is there makes it even more special. A city card and monthly pass for transportation also means an easy day trip to Burano or Torcello or elsewhere in the lagoon.

Waikoloa, Hi (the Big Island). Our family had a fabulous vacation there recently. This island has great beaches, great food, pleasant weather. On the west side in Waikoloa, diverse landscape from high mountains, lush fields (north), volcanoes (south), rain forest (east), whale watching and snorkeling (west). It has it all!

I live in San Francisco and our summers are cool.
So I always love to spend time in Calistoga, Ca, just 70 miles north of SF, where it is much warmer.
It is a beautiful drive through the Napa wine Country, with the opportunity to go wine tasting.
Calistoga is a historical resort town, with hot springs and many spas, where I enjoy to luxuriate in spa treatments. The pools are filled with mineral water and I swim as often as I can, afterwards enjoying wine and fine dining and I even like to take a glider to soar with the eagles.
It is in easy driving distance 386cakof SF, but still feels like a vacation with a totally different ambiance and climate.

Through the years there have been several incredible vacations, but the one that my family would love to return to is a visit to San Diego. We went to the San Diego Zoo, the beach, the Yard House restaurant with over 100 beers on tap, and the Best Western was a great hotel for our stay. Our plan is to repeat this trip next year--this year we are headed to Oregon to visit family.

Rural Nova Scotia was a glorious summer memory, driving back roads and coastal roads: beautiful scenery, friendly people, lovely and quaint small towns, rural atmosphere, wonderful seafood crisp nights and temperate days.

I best moment is when i went to Monument Valley in Arizona. The scenery and the view was great and something never expected!. The area was so clean and well maintain. The road condition was perfect and the people were just awsome.
I recommend Arizona to everyone who enjoy scenery and road trip.

We love to visit the National Parks when the kids are out of school. Even though they're all been memorable, our Grand Canyon trips are the mose awe-inspiring. Grand Canyon in the winter is also a special treat, by the way.

Best trip my wife and I ever took was to Cabo San Lucas. It was the best trip ever. Sun, Sand, Corona and Margaritas,,,,, Who could ask for more !!! Can't wait to go back !!! Not to mention, CABO WABO !!!!!!!! If you have been there, you know what I am talking about !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our most favorite place is Kauai. We love the Hawaiian Islands but just fell in love with Kauai. Beautiful and relaxing. Can't wait to get back.

Las Vegas, NV

We went to Las Vegas to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday (her idea) and had the time of our lives. It was a great family vacation including wonderful dinners, shows, gambling and a Monet exhibit at the Bellagio Museum of Fine Art. The week was topped off by the birthday girl winning a diamond ring in a drawing at the Sahara. All in all it was probably the most memorable trip we have ever taken.

Best vacation was a trip to Whitehorse Yukon Canada. Beautiful country, friendly people. Just so fun. Great fishing.

My wife and I have been together for 18 years with a honeymoon to disneyland as the only one-on-one vacation we had ever done together. This past April we decided to stay at the Beachfront Inn in Harbor, a small town in Southern Oregon. We went all out getting the Jacuzzi suite, and bringing all the romantic extras. It was the best time my Wife and I have had since that first date back in seventh grade. The Beach was beautiful, the restaurant across the street, Sabastian's, had the best food we had ever experienced, and the weather was perfect with the perfect sunset, which Wife got a picture of and is submitting it in our local Fair this year. I would just like to thank Best Western for a great room and a no hassle experience while we were able to enjoy what we now consider to be our second honeymoon.

The state of Florida. Have been there many, many times, to Disneyworld and all of the other attractions Florida has to offer. We are now snowbirds and winter in Florida. Although it is 87 degrees today in the north where we live, we are looking forward to returning to Florida next January.

A trip on the Alaska Maritime Ferry, up the inland passage, was a trip I would like to repeat. Dolphins and Orcas swam near the boat, and daylight lasted til 11PM! We stopped in Juneau, and I went on a hike and saw bears. Probably the glaciers are receded from where they were10 years ago... Alaska is beautiful.

My most memorable vacation was when my husband and I went to Jackson, WY. We spent time in the Tetons, rode the tram up the mountain, went white water rafting, took an early morning horseback ride into the mountains, walked around the town taking in all the sights, eating the great food, and shopping. It was so great to be in the outdoors enjoying all that nature has to offer.

Our trip to and thru the Rocky Mountains was superb. Started it just outside Glacier Park Montana, and continued into Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. The scenery was great and wildlife plentiful. So many photo opportunities!

The jewel of Oregon--Crater Lake is a place we keep going back to every few years--the crystal clear lake, hiking trails, wild life, a wonderful lodge---whats not to love and want to keep going back to---to relax on the porch, with a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the crater--a little bit of heaven in our own backyard

The best summer vacation I ever had was two weeks exploring Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding area. There is so much diversity, one never gets bored. From spectacular canyons to the famous geysers to stagecoach cookouts.

my best summer vavaction destination was in pondry idaho, we stayed 2 nights in that town and silverwodd themepark was very close that destination, my kids realy enjoyed visiting that area and enjoy silverwood theme park, we are planning to stay 4 days in that area this year.

My favorite summer trip was Seattle and the surrounding area in June of last year with my dad. We took the Amtrak train from MN to Seattle, and then I rented a car and we went all over the western third of Washington.
We went to Olympic National Park - to Hurricane Ridge which was absolutely breathtaking, and we drove the Olympic highway over to Lake Crescent and the lodge there - I kinda wished we would have booked a night there because it was so picturesque! We stayed in Port Angeles, which is a FABULOUS little city where I definitely could have stayed longer than one night.
From there, we went up to Neah Bay and hiked up to the northwesternmost tip of the US. We stayed in Forks for a couple of days and explored a couple of beaches along the Pacific coast (I could have spent a WEEK out here exploring just the beaches - I love the wide variety of beautiful scenery along the coast - the huge trees washed up on shore, the seastacks, the wildlife, etc). We also spent a day hiking in the Hoh rainforest - VERY COOL!
From there, we roadtripped to Mount Saint Helens and explored that area for an entire day - the only word to describe that experience is AWEsome.
We spent 1/2 day at the Boeing Museum of Flight (which is very interesting), and the second half of the day we drove up Mt. Rainier to Paradise. It was cloudy all day, and we couldn't see the peak, but wouldn't you know, as we were driving up, the clouds lifted and we could see the glaciers on the peak - AMAZING!
Then we spent a few days exploring Seattle and the surrounding area. We did a boat tour on Lake Washington, which was very informative and had beautiful scenery of the floating homes and other residential areas. Then we were intrigued by what we saw of the Arboretum from the boat (floating walkways), so after the boat cruise, we went over there to explore and hiked around and sat on the lake shore and enjoyed the boat traffic. Of course we went to the market downtown, and walked along the piers. We also roadtripped north one day to Deception Pass and Anacortes (would have liked more time to explore that town and Whidbey Island too!).
My dad's also a big train buff, so one day we went east to Snoqualmie and the Northwest Railway Museum, which we both thought was really interesting. We also visited Snoqualmie Falls while we were in the area.
I LOVED Seattle and the surrounding area, and will definitely be making a trip back when time and money allow.

My childrens best vacation ever was Disneyworld in Orlando, FL. Walt Disney was a great man with a great vision to help families have a great time together. When we went, my 4 boys were 14, 12 and twins that were 9. We stayed for 10 days and loved everty minute of our trip. We stayed at Pop Century which was an adventure in itself. We went to all 4 Disney parks. Our favorite was Magic Kingdom, but they were all really good. EVERY family should go to Disneyworld at least once with the kids.

Best place ever is Rockport, Texas. Sleepy light seaside town in the middle of the coast. Laid-back, great shops, fantastic fishing, always a breeze. We go year after year for long weekend get-aways!

The best vacation my wife and I have taken is to Cancun, Mexico. We did the all inclusive which is nice because you do not have to hassel with money much. The food and drinks are amazing. We went on 3 different excursions included in our package. The Talum ruins are neat to see. We got to snorkel and scuba dive for the first time ever. The resort itself was spectacular. It had 5 restaurants to choose from. The swimming pools were awesome with swim up bars.
We would love to go again someday. Definitely a memorable trip.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is the most awesome place to be at any time of year. The clean mountain air is refreshing, the challenge of white water rafting on the Snake River is fun, hiking in the mountains and coming upon various wildlife like elk, deer, and even bear is thrilling. The Bar J Wranglers Ranch Show is terrific, and eating trout outdoors at the chuckwagon at Dornan's at the base of the Grand Teton Mountain is amazing. The actual town is upbeat but quaint and has lots to see and do including great restaurants and live music. Add to that various events like the annual Elk Antler Auction and Frontier Days and you have a destination to visit again and again.

I and 2 of my friends stayed at the Best Western with a pool-side room in Orlando, this June.
With the pool side room we were able to spend a few days relaxing at the pool and whilrpools which were just a few steps away!
Then we chose to visit Seaworld- not being in Seaworld before I thought it would have been just a typical aquarium with 2-3 rides. However, Seaworld was the highlight of my trip and made the whole stay even more worthwhile!
We spent just one day at Seaworld and managed to do and see everything.
The Manta ride was definitely the most awesome! (I happened to go on myself because my friends were to scared (sour sports).)
I have gained a major love for Dolphins, even Killer Whales!
The Believe show was out of this world - and brought the message they were trying to portray straight out to the crowd. It even caused me to want to cry at some times.
When I do go back to Orlando- I will be upgrading my park choice to Discovery Cove- where I actually get to swim and touch the Dolphin! Can not wait!
(and I will revisit the best park in the World- Seaworld!)

I took my family to Kauai, Hawaii. We stayed at the Plantation Best Western. It was a great hotel. There was a kitchen in our suite so we saved money on making a lot of our own meals. The hotel had a lovely pool and hot tub that we used every night.
As a splurge I took the family on a volcanic tour. The tour its self was poorly run but we laughed so much about things that occurred that day that we will have memories forever. We went to the Lava Tubes and although they were open all the way to the end, our tour guide didn't provide us with enough time or flashlights to go through the unchartered part. My wife and I stayed back and let our adult children go through using the light from their cell phone and, eventually hooking up with someone that had a flashlight. The kids came out laughing and said it was awesome.
Our guide took us to the active volcano in the day time. We had to leave for our bus at 6:30 pm. I had promised the kids that this was going to be a "mind blowing experience". It was still a good trip but since it was not dark we didn't get to see any of the red lava pouring into the ocean. We saw a lot of smoke. It was pretty cool none the less but it wasn't "mind blowing". The kids still tease my wife and I about the "mind blowing experience".
It was such a great trip and one that my family will never forget.

Italy (specially Venice) is the most memorable summer vacation for me. I left part of my heart there and I really like to go back and have another vacation there. Lots of fun, delicious foods, memorable cappuccinos, yummy ice creams, beautiful monuments and more.

Monterey, CA We visited Monterey Bay and went whale watching, the weather was fantastic and the Bay was like glass. A "friendly" humpback decided to watch the people on the boat. She would spray us with her spout and we all smelled like fish breath! Can you imagine what it is like to look in the eye of a 40 foot humpback whale? It was a once in a lifetime experience and I have the photos to keep the great memories of that day.

My best travel place in the Summer time is Dulce,NM on the Jicarilla Apace Reservation. I put on Youth Basketball, Fitness, and Prevention Camps for Boys & Girls in June and July every Summer. It's Great staying on the Reservation at the BestWestern Hotel for a Week at a time. (Dir) Coach Kelvin Scarborough NewMexico AllStars.

I will be going first to Las Vegas with my family and then to Utah to visit Zion National Park. I also hope to visit San Simeon and see Hearst Castle and stay at the Best Western Cavalier Oceanfront Resort there.

The day after my husband and I got married 2 years ago, we left on a road trip from Saskatchewan to California (about 2600 miles). There were some long days of driving but we saw such amazing country on our trip...to go from prairies to mountains to desert to beach was incredible. Our days were jam packed with things to do in LA, and we even made a day trip to Vegas to catch a UFC event. We took a different route to get back home and stayed in Denver, CO for a night (which set us up for a road trip we took at a later date - a week in Denver this last May - also a beautiful area and an amazing trip). Those 2 weeks with my new husband were so much fun and so memorable...and if our marriage can survive that many hours alone in a car together, it can survive anything! :)

our favorite stay was at gatlinburg,Tennessee because of the Silver Dollar city amusement park in civil war theme and all the town funshops and local amusement rides,the great smoky mountains park,cherokee indian reservation had indian dances,black bears in the park,and fall creek falls state park had four waterfalls,suspension bridge,horses,also lookout mountain overlook 4 states.we cannot wait to go back with Best Western!

The best summer vacation we took was as a family to Southern California. We went to Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Zoo, and Seaworld. Packed a lot of fun into the week and of course Best Western made it all very convenient.

Ok so I take my summer vacation in April....but my very favorite "summer vacation" is to Mesa for spring training. We watch the Cubs, Giants, well pretty much whoever is playing. This spring we took in an ASU game. Love, love, love it! We hit the flea market in Mesa, old town Scottsdale and Tempe, plus it is warm and just what you need after a long Montana winter.

In June of 1990 my family all went on vacation to Orlando. We all agreed that it was the best vacation ever. This June I took my own children on the same vacation. Between Disney, Coco Beach, deep sea fishing and NASA we had to agree that this was the best vacation desitination! Three teenagers didn't even complain about the 3,733 miles we drove!

My favorite place would have to be Honolulu. Not for the usual tourist reasons. Although it IS beautiful and so relaxing, Honolulu is where I set eyes on my only son, his handsome face, for the first time in 15 months when he returned from Iraq. THAT made Hawaii special. he was home, he was safe and he was in my arms!!!

my hometown. vancouver BC. even though i live in a suburb now, it's a favourite summer destination. a 45 minute drive and we're at the beaches of English Bay or Kitsilano. or Granville Island. 20 minutes more and we're in the North Shore Mountains. see, i barely need to leave my backyard. and believe it or not, we book rooms at the Best Western Chateau Granville (so we can spend a long weekend in the city, without commuting) in the heart of the entertainment district and are in walking distance to culture, shopping, beaches and amazing people watching.

The Grand Canyon is the spot to be. I have been there many times already and will be back some more for sure. I have hiked to Phantom Ranch, rafted through the canyon, just road through on my way to other places, and got married on a balcony at El Tovar over looking the canyon. The ceremony followed a thunder storm and we had a beautiful rainbow.
I think I will start planning my next trip right now.

Spent about a week in Lincoln, Oregon with our entire family. Kids loved the beach, creating sand castles, making glass floats, cooking together and just being together. This was our last trip as a complete family as my daughter-in-law passed away the following January from colon cancer. My oldest granddaught jus told me today that we needed to go back again . . we all loved it and have great and lasting memories

We had the best time in Florida.
Hopped on a cruise to the Caribbean, hung out at South Beach in Miami.
Drove to Orlando to Walt-Disney world and Universal Studios and checked out
the Kennedy Space center, and all without kids.

When I was 8 years old my parents decided to take us to floriday to disney world. Your probably thinking alright disney world but with 4 brothers and 3 sisters in one small motor home it made for a great trip! We started our journey from ontario canada and that is about 24 hours away from florida so it was quite an eventful trip!! My parents always tried hard to save there money to take all around Canada and the U.S. and with that many kids it was really hard. I don't know how they did but I am so grateful that they did because I have such great memeories with my family on all the vacations that we went on. Till this day if I could pick out any vacation I would for sure pick disney world again it holds on to so many dear memories!!

When I was young my parents and a whole bunch of our friends would get together and go to Trinity Lake in Northern California. It was a great time boating and jet skiing. We had so much fun playing with friends and relaxing in the beautiful scenery.

My favorite summer spot is San Luis Obispo, on the central coast of California. It's a great time of year there with warm weather and beautiful beaches. We'd spend the day at Pismo Beach and have dinner at Mclintock's in Shell Beach.

Wisconsin Dells! There is something for everyone in this place and there is always something to do. Kids (and adults) of all ages will definitely have fun.

Destin, FL! Beautiful white sand beaches, shopping, amusement parks, water parks, outlets, too much to do and see in one trip. Great for a family vacation or for a little romance. You could stay for a month and not see all there is to do is this beautiful area of Florida.

Mine is Mrtyle Beach,Sc. I love the beach, Barfoot landing, the sencery. I just love everything about it!

Cocoa Beach, Florida is a fun vacation destination/spot. You have the beach, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Kennedy Space Center (not to far away) all in one place. Who could ask for more?

Melbourne, Australia! Such a beautiful city and the people are so friendly!. Highlights were feeding kanagaroos,seeing koalas and the Penguin Parade (penguins swimming out of the Ocean and walking up the beach!) Best trip ever!

Lake Tahoe. Nothing better than jumping into the lake and having the wind knocked out of you. (If you have never been there you can't imaging how cold the lake is.)

Whistler, BC! Several lakes for swimming, canoe rentals, fun cycling trails (paved and unpaved), plus rugged downhill bike trails if you like that sort of thing, excellent restaurants, a great car-free promenade for strolling past stores, restaurants and pubs with your ice cream cone in hand, lots of great places to stay.

Atlantic Beach, which is right beside Myrtle Beach, SC is one of my favorites of all time. We first went when I was about 10 and boy was it an adventure! When we got finally got there it was the usual sun and fun on the beach, but the best part was driving there. It was us (mom, stepdad, me) and my aunt and cousins, and a friend of my aunt. So we went with three cars and my aunt's friend had the junkiest car! Everytime we had to stop at a light or stop sign, that car would cut off. Everybody had to pull over and the men would work on it and then we'd be off again lol! A trip that normally takes a couple hours (we live in NC), took an entire day and we didn't get to the beach till morning. We were so tired and thankful to finally be at the beach, but that stopping in backroads and dark out of the way places along the way was scary at the time, but us kids thought it was a fun adventure :) During the time at the beach, the car was fixed at a mechanics garage so the return trip was not as exciting!

We spent a most enjoyable 3 weeks on Prince Edward Island, Canada several years ago -- one week each cycling, an Elderhostel and touring -- and look forward to spending more time there with its scenery and charming people.

My number 1, top of the chart, best summer destination is Valdez, Alaska. Valdez is known as Little Switzerland for a reason. The mountains that reach down to the sea are spectacular. Bridal Veil Falls is the most beautiful, but the numerous waterfalls that fall hundreds of feet into Keystone Canyon are breathtaking. Then there is Prince William Sound just outside the front door with marine mammals, glaciers, and sealife galore. When you go fishing you may come back with a freezer full of halibut, salmon, rockfish, cod.... The fishing will wear you out! Valdez is the place that I want to tell everyone to visit at least once in their life. If you are as lucky as me you get to go back time and time again. I never get tired of the varied activities that Valdez has to offer. It is a pristine wonderland with a touch of creature comfort.

My # 1 is to visit the Alamo, in San Antonio, Texas. This is where 200 Americans stood up to the Mexican Army knowing they would not see the next day. They gave their all, and we will always remember the Alamo.

I love the Outer Banks of NC. Rustic and so pretty. Nice people too.

We are not able to travel far so have to stay local and PEI has to be one of our favorite spots. My favorite visit is when we drove over the bridge to get there and then took the ferry to Nova Scotia home it was an awesome trip

The best trip I ever had was a nice romantic weekend in Canmore, Alberta. Who can pass up the mountains and the fresh air with someone you love.

Ahhhhh . . . . driving through the french countryside . . . and stopping briefly at Monte Carlo to wine and dine!!!! Beautiful!

I would love to travel to Australia and New Zealand

Week and a half in Charlotte, NC for the All Star Race and Coke 600. It is beautiful there and there is so much to do if you are a big Nascar fan like my husband and I are. We have been 4 years in a row and can't wait til the next trip. We can't wait to go see the new Nascar Hall of Fame there. Check out Michael Waltrip Racing for the best race shop ever. Go there every chance we get. Not far from Victory Junction Gang Camp, either. Beautiful place. Lake Norman is gorgeous, too. That is my all time favorite vacation destination.

We had over 125 foster children and took them all over the U.S. and Mexico but one of the most wonderful vacations I have ever had was when my husband and I brought a foster son's daughter from Washington to California. She just wanted to see palm trees and orange trees. We took her to Disneyland, Universal Studios, San Diego Sea World, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Magic Mountain, and a water park. At the end of her month long stay my daughter and I created a 60 page scrapbook of her California memories. She had never been on a vacation before and her California trip and scrapbook were priceless.

There just no place on earth like fabulous Las Vegas! Any kind of traveller can find more than enough to keep their days there full and fun. I really wish I could go more often and stay just ONE more day every time. No matter which type of fellow relaxer or time of year, I've always had the best time. It's the only place I vacation anymore. And that's true even if I don't drop a single nickel gambling. The beauty and variety is just wonderful.

Seeing all the historical sights of USA, and seeing each States beauty (my husband and I have been through 34 as of today). Hopefully Yellowstone, MT Rushmore, and Southern Wy are our next vacation. What we really enjoy is knowing Bestwestern is there and clean!

The place I would love to go back to is PEI. It's so laid back, beautiful and the friendliest place I've ever been.

Someone just reported on Watkins Glen NY. I'd have to say the whole Finger Lakes region of NY State was our best experience.

Lots of different things to do, great weather, fine people. Hiked up and down the Glen. Took in the NY State Fair in Syracuse two years ago as well. Liked Ithica NY however. The Best Western we stayed at there was clean, friendly, and central to everything. Gonna go back someday.

The best place I have visited is Hawaii - swimming in that ocean was just awesome! I loved every minute of my week there. We had a great flight and a great hotel.

The Most Fun Summer Destination I Have EVER, EVER, EVER Been to is ... the place I've JUST been to, where ever that was. I've been throughout all 50 U.S. States and well over 50 countries, and all have at least one feature/location/experience with the locals that was better than the last. Which one would I go back to? All of them, none of them. Too many places I HAVEN'T seen yet, and the next one promises to be the most fun ever!

Barbados!!! The beaches were glorious! The water was the perfect temp! The fun, the food, the fabulous folks of the island were incredible! We ate the flying fish and now we must return!!!

Hands Down, South Lake Tahoe, CA. The BW Station House has free breakfast, pool, and hot tub.(The breakfast is a full breakfast served to your table and it is to die for!) Even better than that, there is access to the best Beach ever which lines Lake Tahoe. We affectionately call it Lady Bug Beach since in Feb/March before the snow has melted in the mountains and it's almost just right for a dip in the lake, Lady bugs can litter the beach. When it's warm, as it gets during the Summer, we dip in the lake, then hit the video game arcades at the casinos, do a little shopping and walk around town, and then head back to our comfortable room and use the free Internet or watch a movie. Don't forget there are 2 golf courses near by and mini-golf for those who don't like to keep score. There is tons of close by places to eat and depending on the winter you might be able to ski well into the Spring. We've been to this particular BW at least 8 times and they have been great every single time!

My favorite vacation spot was Clearwater, FL. It has great memories for my wife and me.

Hatteras, North Carolina. We enjoyed a wide variety of fishing (clamming, crabbing, shark fishing, surf fishing, and deep sea fishing). The beaches were also nice.

The place my husband and I like to go to, to get away is the Best Western Cavalier Resort in San Simeon, CA. It has a wonderful restaurant on site and a Diva Day Spa that gives the best massages. The fire pits at night are a great touch and the views are spectacular! I hate to even mention it because I feel like its my best kept secret.

Our family had the best time last year staying next to the Beach for a week. We attended our son's baseball tourney, BMX finals & just plain enjoyed the beach. The weather was fantastic, we are returning again this summer! :D

The Best Vacation I have ever been on was a Surf Trip with me and my friends to Southern California. The Beaches in Santa Barbra is the most Beautiful thing I have ever seen except for my Daughter and Wife.

Mine would have to be the summer i went to Las Vegas for the first time, i didnt want to leave i love the lights, action and just the atmosphere itself. man if i could just get the money and move close i would. i cant wait for the next trip back i hope i can find a way to stay...... :)

I think the place I enjoy the most is the Oregon coast. Lots to see and do and the scenery is just breathtaking!!!

A trip Hawaii was my favorite trip. I love all the flowers and Palm trees. We stayed at the Hole Koa Hotel for Military personel and retirees. Great things to see pertaining to World War II.

Belize - It was so beautiful and economical. The people are very friendly. The water is crystal clear and snorkeling was great. At night the gentle breezes are soft and the whole atmosphere is very romantic. I've been there once and want to go back!

I haven't done very much travelling outside of Canada but have always dreamed of visiting Paris, France. Single and a complete romantic, I've always wanted to visit this city of love, art, food, language, architecture, culture and amazing surrounding villages. Instead of only reading and seeing photos, my dream is to go and actually be immersed in it all, take my own photos and create my very own special memories.

My best vacation ever was many, many years ago, when I was 12 and our family ended up being "stuck" in England for 3 months because the US embassy in the 3rd world country we were traveling to refused to allow women and children to enter the country. We got to live in the English countryside and visit great sites like Stratford upon Avon, the crown Jewels, Westminster Abbey and so much more like English tea rooms, a trip on the Thames River and the changing of the guards. It was awesome!

We just returned from The World Cup in S Africa. It was the most amazing trip I have ever taken. We fell in love with the beautiful country and the warm and friendly people. We saw S Africa v Mexico and Argentina v Nigeria. The energy in the stadium was awesome! We can't wait to return.

My favorite summer vaction was to the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, Africa. The beauty of the people and the country constantly call for my return. It is a world so removed from my daily life that I could not stop and think of the wonders of our earth and how fortunate I was to be able to experience such an adventure. The reserve is located on the Rifiji river and thus allowed us to be constantly sourrounded by the beauty of the country and a vast array of wild animals. It was almost surreal. At times I felt as though I were watching the Discovery Channel and then I would realize, I was there! It cannot be described, you just have to be there!

Had an awsome time at Kiawah Island, South Carolina. What a great beach!

One of the most wonderful vacations I was on was the trip to the Canary Islands off the coast of Africa. It is a Spanish Island and the vacation place of citizens of many European Countries so we had an opportunity to learn about many cultures. The weather was absolutely beautiful. The Island itself is diverse- from arid to green. The beach was great. The tours showed so much. Music, food and activities were wonderful. I am sorry I didn't take the offer of a side trip to Morocco...if I ever am able to get back there again that will be one thing that I won't miss!

I would love to visit Hawaii again. My husband and I vacationed there 31 yrs. ago and have wonderful memories of a truly beautiful place.

One of the most memorable trips I had was to Turkey. The stunning architecture of Istanbul, the magical landscape of Cappadocia, the awesome ruins of Perge and Ephesus, the wonderful blue of the Mediterranean Sea and the sites along the coast make me wish that I could have stayed a lot longer than I did.

We love traveling west on I-80 to California. Muir Woods, Mt. Diablo, and Lake Tahoe are favorite stops. There's also a lot to see all along the journey from Des Moines to my sister's home in Brentwood, California.

I'm traveling with my parents this July out west to finally see the Grand Canyon. I'm looking forward to seeing what others have tried to describe. I can't wait!! We will also visit Bryce Canyon, Zion Park, and Yellowstone before reaching our destination of Polson MT which in and of itself holds much beauty located at the base of Flathead Lake surrounded by Mission Mountains. It always reminds me of the National Anthem's line..."purple mountains majesty".

My husband and teenage daughter are huge Walt Disney World fans. We booked a room at the Best Western's Lake Buena Vista Hotels. We had the luxury of staying at such a beautiful hotel that was close to all the theme parks and water parks. The rooms were furnished nicely and the rooms were cleverly designed with bright themed colors. We ate at the Trader's Island Grill Restaurant one evening and it was equisite. The food was remarkable and the setting was elegant. Our family enjoyed so many activities while we ventured out during the day to the parks and we would come back to such a relaxing evening at the hotel. One our down days from the theme parks we splashed around in the pool. It was one of the best vacations!

One of the most beautiul places I have been in Canada is Whister, BC. To stand at the top of Blackcomb mountain on a sunny day where you can see the view for miles is breathtaking and then to ski down the mountain to the village is the best reward.

My alltime favorite place to travel is Brugge, Belgium. There is so much history there, so much art to see, famous sculptures, fountains, old beautiful buildings and towers. The canal walk is wonderful, the food is terrific and the shopping is spectacular. The people could not be any friendlier and the town square offers so much to do. This town was not ruined durign the war so it's in it's original medieval style. GO THERE!

My most favorite vacation destination would be San Diego, CA. I found the people there were friendly, and made me feel like I was at home (in Oklahoma).

My best summer vacation is Spain, Barcelona!! I was there when I was 13 and since then always wanted to come back! The people seemed so friendly and open hearted, their welcoming smiles I will never forget! I would like to reexperience the same feelings now 18 years later!:) Nataly.

Favorite destination by far is Lugano in Switzerland! It's a gorgeous cultural mix of italian and swiss.

San Diego, CA has been our best family vacation. Beaches, amusement parks, baseball games, Old Town SD, great food, and great weather. There's not much more you could ask for in a fabulous summer trip.

The Andes Mountains in Peru. We go there to backpack. Beautiful, beautiful location, cold night and warm locals. Cordierra Blanca area 1 year and the Sacred Valley Area the 2nd. This year back to the Cordierra Blanca.

My absolute best vacation spot was Maui! Absolutely amazing and quintessentially Hawaiian. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the hazy evenings walking down the main strip in Lahaina, snorkelling with green sea turtles or watching the whales off the coast. If you haven't been, make the trip, its a must!

Jekyll Island, GA. Secluded beaches and very relaxed atmosphere.

My favorite holiday was St. Andrews N.B. It's beautiful small village with all the old charm. We went whale watching, walked through the gardens and the town stores. the German food at our favorite restaurant was the best we have had since living in Germany. This is a must see destination for anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

All of Upstate NY is a bargain for some reason.

So many places, so little time! One standout is the Laguna Beach Best Western right across the street from the beaches. It's a great little hotel with a beautiful courtyard and you have access to some of the nicest beaches and walking areas in that area. Plus, Laguna has great restaurants and art galleries. It's a great summer stop because we live in Henderson, Nevada, and it only takes us 4 1/2 hours to get to a cooler and refreshing place on the Pacific ocean!

My family and I went on a five day vacation to Key West, FL and we had a blast. The laid back atmosphere is awesome, everyone is very friendly and relaxed. We visited a few restaurants and shop and had an amazing time. It was hard to leave the area it felt like a totally different country and we were still in the U.S. Love Key West can't wait to go back!!

Venice Florida - beach is amazing and the ocean is so wonderful! WE love the Best WEstern Abassador Suites- from the minute I call for the managers special to when we arrive - all perfect! My name on the signage - the goody bag - the warm cookies - all part of a great experience!
Could I stay right on the beach? Yes and that is nice but honestly I would rather drive to the beach and have a great comfortable SAFE night sleep than be on the ocean! That speaks volumes for Best Western Abassador Suites - Venice Florida! Sunsets each night are amazing!

My whole family, (28 of us) went to Disney World, Sea World and University Studios. I would love to go back. The weather was great and the parks were alot of fun. I would like to go back to Univerisity Studios because we only got 1 day there and didnt get to do everthing.

My favorite destination spot is Siesta Key Beach Florida. The beaches of Siesta Key Beach, Florida are beautiful-white sand and the clearest blue water. There is so much to do on Siesta Key. You can rent jet skis, boats or even go parasailing. Siesta Key Beach, Florida is pure paradise. I LOVE IT!

My husband and I took a driving trip along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We started at the Virginia state line and drove all the way to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina stopping a many of the small coastal towns along the Outer Banks. We rode several ferries to get to the various islands. We are also lighthouse seekers so we were in hog heaven with all the lighthouses to see and tour! We can't wait to go back!

I would have to say Disneyland in California. As a child growing up, my Dad always made sure to take us on fun family trips. California was one of my favorites. It has many memories for me. Being there can take me back to my childhood quicker than anything. Now that my dad is no longer around, and I have my own children. I long for that feeling again. I long for the joy of taking them to Disneyland and creating memories. However, in todays economy, that just really isn't possible. We are saving and hope to make it soon though. For now, I hear a song, or see a Disney movie, and I go back in my mind. Disneyland, that is definantly our family dream.

Summer road trips....the fun would be in the going than the final destination. One of these times would have been when my sister and I took our Mother(age 80) on a road trip stopping off here and there with Vegas as our final destination. We had to stop for pie here and lost a shoe there and deals were to be had way over there. Lots of laughs and giggles as we traverse the freeways and that continued into Vegas with its lights, sounds and gambling all nighters.

The road trip was so much fun that we are going to do it again this summer !

My family loved the 3 trips to Wrightsville Beach, NC, because of the white sand beach and the ocean. We had the awesome seafood in Calabash and went crabbing on the beach. My kids want to go back.

We enjoy going to Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Florida. You can tour the entire complex and see the shuttle on the launch pad. You can watch a rocket or shuttle launch which is awesome. Nearby is Disney World.
Can't beat the area for fun!

mackinaw island in upper michigan is the best place to go. Fudge, horse rides, bikes, and forts! Who could ask for more?

We loved our road trip to DisneyWorld. We zigged and zagged across Florida while we were there. I love road trips!

The most fun trip I had is when i went to jamaica for the summer. I had a amazing time. They had clear beaches and you could get under water and swim with the dolphins. They had lots of entertainment on the beach and they had lots of really awesome shops for sourverniers. The best time on the trip was walking up a moving waterfall and looking at all the clear water and beautiful scenary. I loved this trip and I would love to go back.

Our nation has so many amazing destinations to vacation, however, the most memorable is our stay at the Best Western "Canyonlands" in Moab, Utah. Being a river guide in Colorado, I was taken by the energy this adventurous, small town provided. You would need a lifetime to experience the wonders of this country, and all within an hour of Downtown Moab. The Hotel was most inviting after many days of exploring the National Monuments that blanket this wonderous landscape. Being able to walk to all fine and casual dining and all the fun shopping from the hotel was so relaxing. It will be forever captured in our minds.

We had the most fun visiting Tahiti! The weather, the water, the islands, the people - the best! Great snorkling, bike riding and sightseeing adventures a-plenty. While Moorea was our favorite island, the island of Tahiti was beautiful too. We would love to go back one day and see more of the Tahitian islands, such as Bora Bora!

One of the best vacations we ever had was in Colorado. We stayed for 7 days and we were never bored. We drove to various cities throughout our trip such as Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and others. The people were friendly everywhere we went. The scenery was simply majestic no matter where in the state we were! One of the highlights of the trip that our children still talk about was whitewater rafting. We took a route that took us through both the gorge area and the bighorn area of the river. A great section of river for families while still having some excitement with a couple class IV areas. The Denver aquarium was also very nice and the kids loved it. As for the food....if you go where the locals eat you should never go wrong. We did not have one bad meal our entire vacation.

Akumal, Mexico is a place that gets in your blood. The people of this small pueblo about 60 miles south of Cancun are some of the friendliest, genuine people we have met.
The gorgeous bay, filled with beautiful fish, coral and sea turtles is just a few steps from any number of small restaurants and hotels.
Definitely a place to relax, enjoy each others company and just realize that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed!

Quebec City, Quebec - the History, resturants, people, hotels atmosphere ....all just fantastic.

We recently enjoyed a vacation to Williamsburg, VA. What a wonderful place to go to enjoy the history of this country. Also, there are so many other activities to enjoy in the area.

Key Largo. It's not too far into the keys, but has the same islandy atmosphere with killer beaches and plenty of snorkleing/state parks to explore. Just make sure you go there before the current pulls the oil spill through the keys:(

Our favorite vacation starts with a long weekend in San Francisco, followed by a leisurely drive south along the Pacific Coast Highway stopping at Carmel, Big Sur, Pacific Grove and San Simion. The best scenery in the world is here, not to mention great restaurants. Best Western, Fishermen's Wharf, is our first destination and Best Western on the beach at San Simion, our last. We highly recommend both.

My best summer vacation is Saratoga Springs, New York. I love horses and horse racing and you can see the best of it at Saratoga race track. Near Lake George which makes it all the better. Just beautiful country in up state New York.

PENTICTON, BC**** Have been alot of places and had alot of fun but Penticton BC was the best family vacation ever. Stayed at the Best Western near Skaha Lake and they had everything we needed to make us want to come back and do it every year! So now it is a family tradition! The perfect day? Cardamom bread and strong black coffee for breakfast, a walk through the shops on the Esplanade, a market-place sandwich for lunch, a contemplative stop at the famous Templiaukkio rock church, then walk, walk, walk the lovely streets until it's time for a fresh fish dinner. In the evening enjoy a folk dance performance at the Seurasaari island outdoor cultural museum, head home for a steamy sauna, then pull the curtains for a deep and restful sleep.

The most fun summer destination ever is without a doubt Maine. In fact we have become so hooked on it - we go every year now! Beaches, fishing, whale watches, boats, sun, gifts shops, quaint towns, nice people, lobsters...even our favorite water tower as we cross the border over New Hampshire into Maine has a lobster on it. Good times!

Niagara Falls and all it has to offer. The falls, the parks, the Maid of The Mist, Hurricane Deck, Niagara Power Plant, the walkways along the Niagara River. On the Canadian side - nightlife and tourist shops.

Hands down DisneyWorld at the end of the summer when the heat has subsided a little and Christmas is beckoning just enticingly enough to offer you a peek at all that will be part of Disney's latest festive season.

From It's a Small World in Magic Kingdom, we make our way through the jungles of Africa and Asia in The Animal Kingdom. As intrepid adventurers, we ride the Twilight Tower of Terror and watch Fantasmic at Hollywood studios and then indulge each night in cuisines from around the world at EPCOT where soaring takes you through orange groves, Mexico shares its pyramids, England feeds you fish and chips and you watch the laser light display. If you are lucky enough to book a segway tour you develop what is known as the segway grin, regressing to a kid on its first bike ride.

Finally after the music ends we make our way back to our hotel with the rest of the happy crowds before reluctantly collapsing for the night, only to do it all over again the following day, scrambling to try and get in as much of the adventure as possible before returning home and plotting our next good reason for visiting DisneyWorld as soon as possible!

The Dalmatian Coast in CROATIA! I lived in Europe for seven years (three with the military) and absolutely loved it. The entire country has much to offer. The water is warm, crystal blue and inviting for swimming, sunbathing, fishing, boating and scuba diving. You can learn a lot about the culture as the people are friendly and helpful. With a variety of delicious food you may try many before finding your favorite, but definitely try the Dalmatian Peka. The Makarska Riviera is a great place to relax as it is beautiful and peaceful. There are 1185 islands in this small country of just over 4 million people. Zagreb, the capital, while beautiful and full of history, has so much to offer including the wonderful four-star Best Western Premier Hotel Astoria. Being centrally located on the Adriatic, Croatia is in close proximity to many countries such as Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Bosnia-Hercegovina (Medjugorje is a religious site), Macedonia, Greece, Serbia, Hungary and others. Italians and many other Europeans vacation in Croatia as it is beautiful yet less expensive than many destinations. And unlike Italy and some other countries, television shows are broadcast in their native languages with Croatian subtitles. My second favorite would of course be Germany. I absolutely love Germany, the German hospitality, food, weather...

Last year on our Annual Motorcycle Adventure we rode up thru British Columbia & Alberta traveling as far north as Jasper National Park and then back down the Icefield Parkway. The colors of the Rivers and Lakes are incredible. WOW!!! This year we are going to do the same trip in the opposite direction visiting Glacier Park and hopefully The" Going to the Sun Road" will be open. From there we will be visiting and spending the night in Waterton Lake/Park for the first time. Can't wait.

There's no place like Nova Scotia!

We enjoy relaxing on the beach in a family-friendly environment, so our favorite retreat is Ocean Isle Beach, NC. What a nice getaway! And it's only 30 minutes away from North Myrtle Beach, SC, where you can dive into tourism!

We love any type of road trips, especially down to LA and Disneyland! We do it every summer and it always sticks in the back of our minds! We've love to take a road trip across country one of these days!

Definitely San Antonio, TX! There is so much to do there. We love Sea World and Six Flags, but I also love the cultural spots like the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and the Mexican Market. You just can't beat it as a vacation destination with something for everyone!

The most interesting and fun, with lost of history and things to do and see, is St. Augustine, Florida. My first pick to visit right now is St. Augustine, Florida. I was able to go there briefly this spring, but the weather was cold and also we had only a day and a half to spend there. Not nearly enough. One could probably spend a month and still miss much! I actually cried when we left because there was so much I still wanted to see and experience.

We love Best Western! Last Summer my hubby and I and 7 friends took a trip from San Antonio, TX to the Grand Canyon on our Harleys. We stayed at BW's on the way up and back and they were awesome! This trip was my best vacation ever - good friends, a different adventure every day, a different stop every night, cuminating with the breathtakingly beautiful Grand Canyon and ultimately a safe trip back! Thanks Best Western!

Costa Rica!!! Pura Vida. Went during college and missed it every year since until this year! Went back with the wife for her first time and with a group of friends. If you want to go somewhere laid back where there is always somewhere to surf and the beer is cold, look no further than Costa Rica! I can't wait to go back soon!

A tour of the Emerald Isle. We still speak of it 12 years later. Once again we were home in Inishfree.

It would be a toss up between Ashland, Oregon (Shakespeare country) or San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico (beautiful blue skies, warm sea water and unlimited shrimp!!)

The city of San Diego is a wonderful place to visit. We visit our college son and there is truly something for everyone there: beaches, bays, the ocean, great food, shopping, history, fabulous parks and museums.

In the 1950's, my dad and mom had saved for an entire year to allow us to vacation in Florida (from central Alabama). Our plan was to drive around the entire state of Florida and to see as much as we could see in one week. We saw 10 baseball spring training camps, along with all the usual sites (Ross Allen's reptile farm, Silver Springs, Cypress Gardens, and a number of great towns (then) which are small cities now. We drove all the way to the Keys but turned around at Key Largo because we weren't too sure about our car's condition.

I guess this is not much to the kids of today, but I thought it was wonderful and still remember the different motels we visited (especially in Clearwater and St. Augustine.

One of the most fun recent trips was to the Redwoods of California a few years back. We were amazed by the size and the quiet calm wandering around among the giants. Then we relaxed in the pool at the hotel after a long day hiking and watched Michael Phelps tear up the pool at the Olympics on the TVs all around the pool at the Best Western in Eureka. What a great combination.

My most fun, relaxing summer vacation was in Paris. New York ranks second.

Hands down - South Padre Island Texas. Pristine beaches, tropical trade-winds, fresh fresh fresh seafood, great fishing, boating, horseback riding, jetskiing - or just beach-combing up the Padre Island National Seashore. I really should't even be talking about it :-)
On second thought....forget I said anything about this idyllic place!!

My favorite summer trip was traveling up the West Coast, starting in So. Cal and finishing in Vancouver, Canada. We went as a family (my sister and I were in our teens) and camped several places, and then mixed in stays in little motels along the way. As an adult, I would like to take my mom and dad back to British Columbia, and stay at the Empress Hotel on Vancouver Island!

My favorite vacation was running about jolly old England for one month when fresh out of college. I would love to do it again.

My best vacation was my second chanch at love. We went to Hawaii on our first anniversary and stayed at Hawaii Hilton Resort and they put us in the Alii Tower, which is reserved for " upper class people". My wife and I had the time of our life.

Maui is always my most favorite summer vacation spot. Its so beautiful and warm. Cant get enough of it!

My family's favorite is Cedarville, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. Our trip includes stopovers in Frankenmuth, Mackinac City, and Charlevoix. We've traveled widely in Europe (love Piran, Slovenia, and Marburg, Germany) and Asia (married in Kathmandu, first daughter born in Philippines), but for relaxing and cool refreshment, Cedarville wins! Good fishing, canoeing, sailing, and so, so quiet!

I enjoy going to Branson MO with my family (wife and daughter). We love to swim and really enjoy the DUCKS!

We went toBest Froiends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah to volunteer with the rescue animals. What an incredible place - well run and organized and very well kept. You can rent cottages on site or stay in Kanab. It's 1.5 hours from Bryce Canyon (where we stayed at the Best Western Grand), Zion canyon, and the North Rim of the Grqand Canyon. Great trip!

Our best vacation as a family was a week on a houseboat on Shuswap Lake in British Columbia. When you felt like swimming you just jumped off the boat into the beautiful, clear lake. In the evenings we would dock on the beach and have a camp fire with other boaters. On some evenings you could even see the Northern Lights. Awesome!

The most WONDERFUL!!! trip I ever had was a 7-day exotic southern carribean cruise. I had wanted to take this trip for years, and I finally was able to go in June 2006. I went alone on this cruise, and the ports included San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, island of Dominica, island of Barbados and island of Aruba (2-days). Best trip ever through Carnival Cruise Lines...just awesome, beautiful and breathtaking!

Myrtle Beach. I went there with my best friends last year and it was great. We had so much fun! great restaurants attractions and hot guys!

New Orleans for sure!!... had a great time :) hopefully the gulf will come back from another round of setbacks for the region and we will all have a good time once again...

Sitges Spain (Outside Barcelona) is the best summer vacations ever...hundreds of years of history, great food, and nightlife...and you can leave the car in the USA you don't ned one here!!!

Our favorite summer escape is 'The Hote'l in Las Vegas! We have 2 daughters and have gone to 'The Hotel' every summer for the past 6 years. The pool is not your typical hotel pool-they have a wave pool that we can't get our girls out of, a lazy river to relax, many different pools for families and adults only, sandy beach, cabanas to get out of the heat. We have spent from morning til night in the pools and have even enjoyed concerts at the 'beachside.' The rooms are elegant mini-suites with lots of room for the whole family. Great family vacation and quite a retreat!

The most memorable vacation I have had was not where, but who with. The last two summers we have stayed in Best Western Hotels for our vacations and have enjoyed every minute. Especially the hot tub! And would recommend it for sure! I would love to win this gift card for another chance to be with my family and enjoy a safe holiday together. The kids absolutely LOVE staying in the hotel, especially to go swimming!

My family loves Hampton Beach NH. The water is always cold but thats how we like it! The boardwalk is fun with the arcade and candy stores and of course fried dough! We go every summer and sometimes even in the winter when we can have the beach to ourselves lol. We always hate to leave.

Haida Gwaii Queen Charlotte Islands. Rustic camping, pebble beaches, forests carpeted with moss 2 feet thick, & the most laid-back atmosphere imaginable. One traffic light! A week is not enough.

My most favorite vacation spot is and always has been Disney-anything! In the past few years I've had the luxury of taking 2 Disney cruises.- SUPERB! I've been on other cruise lines before, but Disney still outshines them all. So if I win, I'm headed to Disney!!

My most wonderful and restful vacation was at Marco Island, FL. The beaches are fantastic and the sunsets heavenly. You have to close your drapes or turn off your beachside lights in the evening after sunset because of the turtles when nesting. Everyone should see this part of Florida.

The Alaska cruise. We go every year, and the scenery is supurb. The glaciers with the summer sun shining on them are absolutely amazing, nothing else can compare. It is relaxing, and the port of calls are also relaxing, unlike many other cruise ports.

Best place was the Fairplay California Wine Appelation southeast of Placerville. Nice little country wineries with friendly people that make nice wine. Their festival was fun with food, wine and entertainment galore.

Last fall we had a wonderful trip from Vancouver, WA to Homer, AK. We were on the road for a total of 23 days. Two of the hi-lights were staying at the Whitehorse, YK Best Western and the Homer, AK Best Western. We would love to go again, especially for the halibut fishing in Homer, AK.

What can be more glorious that riding motorcycles in the Alps? From Bavaria, through Switzerland, Italy and Austria the roads twist and turn, the mountains challenge and thrill, the views never let up, and by the end of the trip you know you should never leave!

I've been recently to Hong Kong. I didn't rent a car, which was nice for a change and would have been difficult there anyway, given their propensity for driving on the 'wrong' side of the road ;-). No problem in communicating with the natives as English is the lingua franca. The city was mostly clean and very beautiful. A bit expensive, but lots of free stuff, like parks and harbor views. Hong Kong is definitely worth a visit for those wanting a taste of Chinese culture without the language barrier or the scariness of the mainland.

Machu Piccu, Peru. This is the most spectacular place I've ever visited, high up in the Andes mountains. Beautiful scenery, spectular Inca ruins, fauna and flora.

Lake Bled in Slovenia is a must see and do and the Best Western Hotels are the most perfectly located at the lake! The walking and hiking up to the castle, the boat ride to the island to ring the church bell, the quaint shopping, the wine tasting, the lovely restaurants with delicious food, makes this location heaven on earth. Truly, this is a country you can travel in and get excited about every view, the people and the experiences. There is even a superb Best Western Hotel in the center of the capitol of Lublijana. Try it. You'll love it!

What else can I say: Je t'aime Paris.

Destin, Florida. The heaven on earth. Beautiful white sand beaches, clear water, and as desolate or as busy as you want it to be. You find your own spot to hang out. If you like lots of people around, they are there. If you want fewer people, just go down the road to another beach and you have time and space to be in your own little world.

Our most amazing vacation had to be a road trip that I took with my son and daughter two summers ago. We arrived in Monterrey, California not knowing that there was a car show happening in neary-by Carmel. My son drooled over all the Lambourghinis that he saw just sitting on the road of this delightful town. Later my daughter loved watching and listening to the sealions along the shore while pelicans flew by. It is truly a vacation to remember.

We had more fun driving from Pennsylvania to Alaska and across Canada that we have had on any vacation in 40+ years of marriage. What a phenomenal place to visit!!! road trip to Alberta Canada

Beaver Creek, Colorado. Known primarily as a winter resort, I took my family there last summer and it was the best trip we ever had! The entire town is walkable. There were trails and playgrounds, restaurants and quaint shops, even summer ice skating! We went over to Vail for a gondola trip to the summit (FREE in the summertime!) and a stroll around Vail Village. We spent the days swimming in the un-crowded resort pools and relaxing on our balcony with an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. It was wonderful. I swore we'd return this summer, but we moved out of state, making the trip a little pricier than is manageable for us right now. But I promised my daughter we'd return, and I mean it. I can't wait!

St. Louis was great I want to go back

Brooklyn, New York! Stay at the Best Western on 84th Street and 4th Avenue...take the R Train to 36th Street and then crossover and take the D Train to Coney Island! Enjoy a ride on the EL to Coney Island - a great New York and Brooklyn tradition! Enjoy the fantastic and thrilling Cyclone Roller Coaster and the one and only Wonder Wheel (don't ride in the stationary cars - ride on the swinging cars!). Go get a Natans Frankfuter and crinkle cut fries. Walk the board walk and releive what a great place Brooklyn really is! I love Brooklyn and New York. Love the Gregory Hotel - a Best Western special right in the Bay Ridge neighborhood!

Iceland was the best vacation I ever had. Blue Lagoon was awesome as were all the geysers. The people I met were very friendly. I even met a wonderful lady and married her!

The best vacation would have to be Dinseyland in Anaheim, California. We stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn & Mini Suites and it is right across the stree from the entrance. The breakfast bar is great and the rooms are spacious. The kids had a blast and we (my husband & myself) thought we were kids again too!!! Good times!! Thanks Best Western!!

My favorite summer vacation spot is St. Augustine, Florida. I first visited when I was seven and was thrilled by the old city. I still have a post card booklet from the 1960s! In St. Augustine, there is so much to do. You can visit the historic old city, go to the nearby beaches, or enjoy the many great restaurants. It is also a very family-friendly area. I have taken my own family more than once, and hope to visit again.

I love yosemite.

Caribana in Toronto, Canada at the end of July is a must. We have a family reunion there every few years. It's awesome. We slip in Canada Wonderland for the kids while the grown folks enjoy the Caribbean festivities :-) Luv It!!

My whole family loved Maho Bay Camps on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. There was snorkeling right off the beach at the bottom of a series of boardwalks and stairs. Forget about sleeping in as the wild donkeys woke you at first light with their braying right under your tent cabin!

My favourite Place I visited was the Falkland Island. I would love to go back there. All the birds and sea life we experienced left us speechless. The people were so friendly and helpfull and we had great evenings out. The whole atmosphere was laid back and peaceful and a great place for a holiday. Amazing place with Amazing sights of Sea lions, Whales, Penguins and all the bird life. Just can't explain it all, one has to see it to believe it.

Charlotte & Mt. Airy NC. I love Speed Week at Charlotte in May. The activities downtown are great, the Nascar Hall of Fame is awesome, and the races at Charlotte Motor Speedway are thrilling. Mt. Airy has a quaint downtown area with a real soda shoppe and many sights dedicated to Andy Griffith and Mayberry. You can even take a ride around town in one of the actual police cars used by Sheriff Taylor and Barney Fife.

One summer we flew to CA and we took a cruise around the prison, I got to drive the boat. We walked the piers and spent a lovely time, it felt like the honeymoon we didn't have when we got married.

Seattle, Washington, is so much fun!! So much to do and such nice weather. We left 99 degrees back home to temps in the 60s here. Pike's Market--all that fresh seafood!! So many things to see on the waterfront, and if the weather cooperates, you get to see the snow capped mountains in the distance. And everyone is so friendly. This has been so much fun. You must see the EMP--Experience Music Project-- and make your own music video. We had many laughs after making our own music video!!!

Oh My--Key West--Just another day in Paradise!!!!

Destin, Florida! My family was able to find what each of us wanted! Snorkeling, sunbathing, shopping, golf, parasailing, dolphin esperiences, jet skis. etc! The restaurants were great or we could eat in or picnic at the park by the bay side all affordably. The beaches were beautiful (and I hope will survive this oil mess). family friendly. Mostly, as soon as we drove over the East Pass Bridge, all of us felt the stress melt away! Many a tear have been shed (although none of us wanted the other to know)when we had to take those last looks out the window at the ocean, hoping for one more dolphin or pelican sighting..............

when we visited Alaska in fall 2009, we love it so much..all 9 days were wonderful.

Puerto Vallarta.. it was wonderful.... even when we can't afford the trip, we went to West Edmonton Mall, Edmonton, Alberta. The kids had so much fun! As long as the family is together for this things, we make things rock & roll !

The most fun summer vacation location ever for me is the island of Cephalonia (or Kefalonia), Greece. It is the largest of the Ionian Islands off the west coast of Greece. It has something for every taste...historic & religious sites, unique geological phenomena, beaches with crystal-blue (and clean!) waters, mountains and valleys with distinctive villages, cosmopolitan cities (like Argostoli, Lixouri & Skala to name a few), and an amazing nightlife!! Definitely worth a visit, but make sure to stay for at least a week--preferably more--to be able to soak up everything.

Yellowstone National Park was my favorite place in the U.S. to visit. The strange and completely different aspects to the park (geysers, bubbling mud pots, hot springs, Yellowstone Lake, wildlife, and magnificent Old Faithful Inn) were fascinating.

My husband and two daughters and I just got back from a fabulous road trip! 3612.5 miles, seven states (NV, UT, WY, CO, NM AZ and CA) in two weeks! We stayed with family, friends, and of course Best Western along the way. We saw some of our beautiful country, the Salt Flats, Fort Bridger, Grand Canyon, Petroglyph National Monument, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West and more. Ended with Disneyland. A trip of a lifetime. Spending time with my family. Showing my young daughters our beautiful country and teaching them about our history. We loved it all!

The absolute best for us happened 10 years ago when we lived in Zambia, in southern Africa, where I was teaching at a college. After spending about 4 months in this dry, landlocked country and another 10 days in hot and muggy Mozambique where I was teaching a short-term course, we were definitely ready for a break! And we wanted the beach! So that December (summer in the southern hemisphere!) we found this fantastic guest house in Richards Bay, South Africa. It was a spectacular place with our room and the pool overlooking the sparkling Indian Ocean sunsets. There were excellent South African breakfasts on the front deck where we were entertained by the monkeys who came to visit our place. And maybe the best part was a trip to the local crocodile farm. While video taping some of them feeding, my wife took our daughters onto one of the islands in the park to look at the crocs close up. A short while later I heard a blood-curdling scream that sounded distinctly like our oldest daughter. I rushed onto the island, fearing she had fallen into the water ... only to discover that she had simply been stung by a few wasps! Relief! But memorable ... as was this entire fantastic trip!

The most fun I have ever, ever, ever had is traveling most anywhere on planet earth. I would have much difficulty choosing any of the many places I have been above any other.

I am in love with the uniqueness of each country, the beauty of countrysides, the architecture and charm of cities and towns, and the joy of sharing various cultures with people wherever I go.

Europe from Eastern to Western is like one great big fairy tale kingdom. Castles and Cathedrals are like spectacular jewels. Mexico and Panama are rich with indigenous color. The grasslands dotted with white flowers in Sweden and Ukraine bring much joy, and folk arts, music and dancing bring me to life wherever I go.

The United States of America offers a taste of all the world's cultures and peoples, plus a sampling of ecosystems both unique and like those found worldwide. And no matter where I go, my heart does return to San Francisco, a place that never ceases to intrigue and amaze.

I have yet to go to Asia, Africa, Down Under, the Middle East or South America, but I hope to know the joy of adding more and more of the world to my world. My favorite place...Planet Earth!

Lake Powell, near Page, Arizona has some beautiful country in a great combination: Red Rocks and Blue Water. My girl and I took the boat trip to Rainbow Bridge. That should be considered a Wonder of the Natural World! Amazing. I would love to see it again as it was a once in a lifetime trip for me. I think I would rent a houseboat and cruise/live on the water next time for a week or so and take time to experience the lake at a slow pace...

Last year, around August, I discovered a harvest festival in Eastern Washington. It is called "Catch the Crush". This is where all the different Wineries host wine tasting at their individual locations. You buy a glass from whichever Winery you start at, and get a map from. You follow the map and enjoy the various foods and wine each one has. One thing to remember, though, is to bring a designated driver.

My husband and I had the best time at the Best Friends Animal Shelter in St. George, Utah. The shelter is amazing and the scenery is breath-taking. I only wish we could have stayed longer than 4 days to take in more of the area.

Great Wolf lodge for a family vacation. It's great for the kids and plays them out.

Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg, PA is the best park ever! No fee to get in, so you're not wasting money if you don't do a lot of rides. Wrist bands available for those who want to ride all day; tickets (no ride was more than $2.50) can be used by those who only do a few rides (or none at all!). We sometimes pack a picnic lunch--just leave the cooler on a picnic table in the shelter (no one bothers things there) and come back when we're hungry. When we don't pack, the food in the park is really good--lot of healthier options in addition to standard fair food (rated best in the country by amusement park rating companies) and reasonably priced. Little kids and big kids both enjoy the rides available to them. Plenty of shade and benches to rest on. And, maybe best of all, no matter when you go, the lines aren't super long! Longest wait we've ever had was 15 minutes for a ride.

Orlando, Florida

I had just come home from a year long deployment to Iraq and surprised my wife with a trip to Hawaii. With not being able to see one another for such a long time, it was the perfect place to reconnect. We stayed at a private home away from all the crowds. We had our own private beach and lived like the "locals" do. Each day was a new adventure and the sights, sounds and colors of the islands were amazing. We both had a difficult time getting back on the plane, but I think that is just one of the reasons for wanting to come back again.

The best summer vacation we ever had was is in Hollywood, California We stayed at the best western there on Susnset Strip..The staff was very courtious and helpful they arranged our tours for us.The pool there was clean and the grounds were well maintained. We did alot of site seeing (movie stars homes and Universal Studios, Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills )and shopping.There was so much to do we would love to go back and spend time at the Disney Resort there and check out some more movie stars homes.

Best Western Ocean View Resort, Seaside, OR -- great out of the way place with wonderful hospitality and convenient for seeing this majestic coastline.

My favorite vacation spot is Blowing Rock, NC. Hiking trails, berry picking, tourist traps, restaurants, and shopping are some of the many things to do. Getting away from the gnats, love bugs, and south Alabama heat are some of the reasons to head north to Blowing Rock!

This June, my wife and I along with another couple spent ten days in Newfoundland. Seven nights at St. John's and three at B & Bs in small fishing villages. The local folks were so much fun. They make you feel like family and the pace of life is much slower that what most of us are used to. The province is beautiful with all the rugged coast line and interior ponds (not called lakes). We saw moose and caribou while travelling in the rural areas. Ice bergs,whales and puffins are all there for the viewing. We can hardly wait to get back.

We went to the Finger Lakes in New York two summers ago and stayed in Best Western hotels throughout the area. We travelled all around the lakes. So beautiful!

Believe it or not, Albany, Ga. is where we had a lot of fun. There are things to see and do, and the farm lands are great to see. The kids loved me blowing the horn at every cow we saw.

Two trips to Nova Scotia and Cape Breton left us wanting more. Eating on the waters edge almost everywhere we went. A slower more relaxed feeling. Beautiful scenery, history, wonderful restaurants, festivals in every town, east coast music, and many many more things left to explore.

The incomparable Lake Tahoe: clean, fresh mountain air and crystal clear water. Warm, (dry), summer days and cool nights. Amazing views of wildlife, mountains, lakes and streams. Even beaches and wonderful villages. Hiking, skiing, fine dining, casinos, shows and clubs!

We love visiting Austin, Texas. There are a million things to do there and some of our family is there too. We can't wait to go back.

New York City, hands down. No matter how long you're there, there's so much you're not able to see. We could spend a month there, and still go home feeling like we missed a lot.

Our best summer vacation ever was to the eastern end of Prince Edward Isalnd, Canada. Fresh seafood, Tuna fishing trip, beautiful beaches, and the friendliest people!

We really enjoyed our trip to Zion National Park and Arches National Park. Lots of trails to hike. Very unusual rock formations and lots of spring flowers blooming.

Washington, D.C., my kids were old enough to appreciate the history and culture. Everyone got along and were totally exhausted!

Our family trip to San Francisco was a trip through California's past. My son's first ride on a trolley car on the steep streets, a meal at the oldest pub in the city, the Buena Vista, dreaming of the decades of conversations that inspired men to entrepreneuship. We visited the past with a walk through China town, viewing a diverse meshing of people and their city, a journey to a new land, within the walls of a vibrant, modern metropolis. Finally, we stepped into the world of Randolph Hearst, a story of his father, the gold miner, that purchased land with his hard labor, and the publishing company and success that bloomed from an early California labor. We went home dreaming our own possibilities and a future that was bright because we had renewed our senses, played together as a family, and enjoyed a vision in the past.

San Diego, California! We have been there many times. The miles of beaches, Sea World, Sea Port Village, Scripp's Aquarium, Balboa Park. We stay on Shelter Island to enjoy seeing the sailboats, and having great food! It never disappoints!

After a long, horrendous drive from New England- on our way to Washington, DC- my husband and I stayed at a lovely motel on the beach at Cape May, NJ. It gave us a chance to relax and unwind. A quiet town with lovely Victorian houses. We would love to go back again.

My most memorable trip is going to P.E. I . with our 3 children where they ran & played in the parks ,slid on waterslides ,& visited the zoo at Santa's Village.
The fun was simply being together ,this is what travel is all about !

My most fun summer vacation just took place--West Yellowstone, MT. We used this location for four wondrous days of exploring Yellowstone National Park. It could not have been more convenient with the park entrance within walking distance of our Best Western motel.

Our trip to the Northwest was one we will long remember. The highlight of the trip was the drive up the coast to Northern California. It was there that we saw the California Redwoods, a sight that was like the icing on a fabulous cake. We just could not believe the size of these magnificent giants. It was one of the most spectacular sights we had ever seen.

We try every year to take a family vacation to South Padre Island Texas.
The beach is extremely clean and never too crowed. Whether you enjoy laying on the beach, fishing or shopping, everything you need is located within walking distance.

Spend your travel dollars where they count this year...In your own neighborhood. Mine is the Puget Sound Area of Washington State. From the Olympic National Park to Mt. Rainier, from Point Roberts to Long Beach, there is more to see and do to fill every weekend of the year.

Papua New Guinea--We went there on a humanitarian effort to help build a hospital. We also enjoyed the tropical climate and some sight-seeing around the island.

For us... we've been to Disneyland/Disneyworld, it was fun - but relaxing? The place where we all had fun, were all able to relax and have a good time - where we all wanted to stay an extra day (or two) was good ol' PARKSVILLE, BC!! It was great, the views were great, the weather was great, the accommodations were great!

My most amazing trip was to Junction,Tx because I met the most amazing woman on planet earth, I wish I could put her name down but I'm not allow to but she is funny,sweet,nice and beautiful everything a man wants on a woman. She is the best.

Prince Edward Island, Canada is my number one vacation spot. The ocean, the amazing sand, the boardwalks, the slower pace of live, the friendly people, and the seafood all make me want to go back and stay longer. It is both relaxing and invigorating.

We stayed at the Best Western Smithfield in Smithfield, NC for our August anniversary last year. What a friendly staff and such a clean hotel! We enjoyed the quaint town of Smithfield and had a lovely, quiet dinner at a cute little Mexican restaurant. We stay at Best Westerns all over the country when we travel but Best Western Smithfield has become our very favorite!

We stayed at the Best Western Royal St. Jean In Bordeaux, France last September. It was a lovely hotel and they gave us directions to some wonderful restaurants! I would love to return!

The best ever Fun summer vacation a trip to Vancouver Island British Columbia, Canada. Visit the Capitol City of Victoria and stay at the Inner Harbour lots to do there; Museums, Imax, Marine Life, Parliament buildings and more. Take a day out at the lovely 130 acre Butchart Gardens. Spend some time in Sidney on the water with lots of shops and good food. Travel on to Chemainus and see the little town that turned hard times into something amazing with its Murals. Look for waffles, ice cream or doughnuts. Stop in Duncan at the Dog House Restaurant big menu for a home cooked meal and have a large piece of your favorite pie. Journey on to Naniamo to shop or relax take in a movie. Then travel on up to Parksville and Qualicum to spend time on the beaches. While on your way to the Pacific Rim west coast take time out to visit MacMillan Provincial Park and the famous Cathedral Grove. On your way to the coast you will have to travel through Port Alberni so take a Steam Train ride to McLeans Heritage Saw Mill. Also see the Martin Mars Water Bomber on Sprout Lake. Take the winding mountainous journey out to the West Coast and Visit Tofino and Ucluelet and Long Beach where you can take a fishing trip or whale watching tour. There is so much to do and enjoy on the Island and it will give you a true feeling of Beautiful British Columbia.

Best summer trip ever is Koh Samu, Thailand! My husband and I stayed at the Best Bestern Samui Bayview Resort and were treated like royalty. The rooms are awesome, the view is spectacular, and the hot buffet breakfast can't be beat! We spent over two weeks traveling all throughout Thailand and Koh Samui was our favorite for the following reasons: 1) least crowded island, 2) best priced hotels 3) wonderful beaches without people bugging you, and 4) small island and easy to get around. We rented scooters for a day and zipped around the entire island, stopping whenever we wanted to hike to a waterfall, visit a buddhist temple, dip in the beach, etc. I would go back to Koh Samui, Thailand in a heartbeat and I would definitely stay at the Best Western Bayview resort. Not a single thing I would change about this trip!

My favorite is cruising to the Bahamas! Most beautiful beaches......and the food is fabulous!

The best vacations i have to say ive ever been on is to puerto rico. Since i was a little girl my dad took me almost every year. We would always stay at beautiful hotels near the beach or stay with my amazing huge family. We also would go sight seeing around the whole island, to the rainforests, or the glowing water at night or to san juan to el morro. The culture is amazing the food is the best and not only that but seeing family is always priceless. I havnt gone back since my dad died in 09 so im dying to go back to keep up the tradition with my new family of my own.!!!

I want to go back so badly! I really love the colonial time period, and the history come to life was simply amazing. My sister and I rented costumes and it was like we had traveled back in time...

I loved my trip to Eastern Europe: Prague, City of castles, ghosts and bridges; Budapest with its Buda Castle; Krakov in Poland; and Vienna in Austria, with all the cultural places to visit and music to enjoy. We travel by train in Europe and the whole experience was amazing.

My most memorable trip happened in the summer of 2008. One of my goals in life is to visit every major league baseball stadium in the United States, so off I went to the beautiful state of Georgia to visit my son and his girlfriend. He surprised me with awesome seats at Turner Field for a Braves game. But I also had a surprise for him. Tickets to see the New York Yankees play their FINAL SEASON in the old Yankee Stadium. Off we flew to New York. You could almost hear the voices of Babe and Lou echoing through the history filled stadium. It was magical for a baseball lover like me; it brought tears to my eyes to be able to see and touch such a grand old stadium and to witness first hand the unconditional love of the New York fans! After buying up every souvenir we could find, it was time to say goodbye to my son, but my fun kept going. I was able to spend another two days in the phenominal state of New York with my sister, whom I hadn't seen in three years as we live on opposite sides of the United States. We shared the sites, sounds and aromas of New York together, and we also shared tears at the site of Ground 0. I will never forget this trip as I was able to see a total of five of our country's 50 states, was part of baseball history, could pay my respects to those lost during 9/11, and best of all, got to share it with those I love the best ~ my family.

Hawaii was the best trip ever. It's so beautiful - more than I could have imagined.

Vernon BC is my favorite city in the province. With a lake on either end of town there are more than enough water based activities for all.

Travel is one of the pleasures of life. To me, destinations are all about the people, food, and music. Buenos Aires is one of the greatest destinations on this earth, one of my all time favorites. I just noticed the BW Internet Only Rate, like Arnold says, "I'll be back"!

Coronado Island, CA near San Diego is the best place for a summer vacation. The beach is beautiful (the sand glitters with gold) and it the best place to watch sunset over the Pacific. It is family friendly and still romantic, nice town to stroll for shopping and dining. The weather is always beautiful.

I absolutly LOVE maine in the summer time! It could truly be the most beautiful place on earth... (or maybe a tie with New Zealand). The people are so real, the scenery majestic. It has it all, Mountains, Seaside, Oceans, Lakes, Forests.. you name it. A true natures paradise. I do not think i could ever tire of it.

Our best vacation was out west in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming. Going over Lehmi pass and finding the start of the Missouri River in the mountains, the river that Lewis and Clark traked to find its beginnings. We stratteled the river and could say we were in both states at one time crossing the Missouri River. Out west has so many great adventures to discover

Our best vacation was to the "Heart of England", specifically the Cotswolds. It was very beautiful, the people were very friendly and the food in the quaint pubs was delicious! The whole country was very welcoming and relaxing. It was a once in a lifetime trip, but we hope to make the journey again in the future!

Favorite vacation spot is Brazil, my husband and I spend 4 weeks there and absolutely loved every minute. We spend time in Rio then went up to Salvador and then back thru the mountains to Belo Horizante on way Sao Paulo. Would love to go back again

Hilton Head Island is a great destination. It has beaches, golf, and great restaurants.

Aberdeen, Scotland.

The silver city at the sea, as Aberdeen is also called, is just great.
A wonderful coastline (although not for swimming - too cold for me), a lively town made out of granite stone, lots of restaurants with good food and shopping, the whole of Scotland at your hands, a hearty welcome by its people, ...

I just love it and will go there again soon.

We played at the National Buskers Festival and during Nadal "Days and in the huge Nadal Days Parade. Wheat a blast. Hundreds of bars, and entertainment, good seafood; lobster Yum!!! We also spent anight in Digby and a great Scallops BBQ hosted by a members uncle. In Halifax we were hosted by the Mayor, Attorney General and Premiere at a luncheor

For total relaxation Key West is the perfect summer location.

One of our favorite vacations was a 7000 mile trip from Kentucky to Mount Rushmore, in South Dakota. We had a great time at Custer State Park! The animals were fantastic ... the scenery was unbelievable ... and the fun we had as a family is something that I wish cherish for the rest of my days. If I could encourage young families, I would say, "Your vacations don't have to be expensive ... but you do need to take them!"

The best summer vacation spot is Oak Island, NC. It is a beautiful, quite NC beach. The beaches are amazing, it's a quaint area, and lots of breeze and boating.

My family all LOVE Myrtle Beach, SC!! My parents retired down there long ago and it has been a family favorite ever since! My hubby and I got married there 20 years ago and we go back every year. There is tons to do! Lots of great shopping, eating is cheap, healthy and delicious! The fun never stops! There is an outside boutique kind of idea, called Broadway at the Beach where you can stoll around a lovely area with benches and a man made lake with a fountain. It costs you nothing to go there and you can visit any boutiques you like or go in none. There is mini golf and great eaterys, too! Something for everyone, no matter what age or interests.
The beach at MB is always clean and tidy and the water is wonderful. The people are all hospitable and helpful and the sun is to die for!! I would recommend Myrtle Beach, SC to ANYONE who wants a wonderful holiday!!

Two years ago, our family took a road trip to the Maritimes and had the time of our life! Whale watching, relaxing on the beach, and hiking on Cape Breton Island, were just a few of the highlights of our trip, Although it only lasted 3 weeks, the memories will last a lifetime for all of us.

Pensacola Beach, Florida is the best. The clean uncluttered white sand beaches to just relax on under an umblella, and clear blue water that calls you to get in. And if you catch it right the surfing can be amazing too.

We love Oregon. Portland is a wonderful place to find great food, museums and shopping. Close by is great camping, water sports of all kinds, and plenty of hiking trails. Try the Oregon Fruit Loop. Kind of like a wine trail, but its fruit! Pick your own or just go tasting! Speaking of wine, there are plenty of vineyards in the region too! Enjoy!

My favorite spot is Sedona, AZ. It is unequaled for its spectacular red-rock scenery. My wife is a photographer and can't get enough of Sedona. Mexican food and local shopping is not bad either!

My fondest summer memories are going to the Okanagan in B.C. every summer. The weather is gorgeous, the lakes are beautiful and the summer fruit is amazing!

Charlotte, NC. We went whitewater rafting, and it was a BLAST! The downtown was clean, and nice, and the people are very friendly.

Puerto Rico in the summer is wonderful -- if you get out of San Juan. We stayed at a former coffee plantation, the Grapinas, a paradore, in the middle of the island in the mountains. Incredible pool with a waterfall, romantic setting, pina coladas on the veranda, few tourists.

Definitely a tour of Europe... London, Amsterdam, Paris, Venice ... and various cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

My most memorable summer vacation was two weeks spent in Montrose, Scotland. The weather was gorgeous (not a normal Scottish summer!) We played golf, sat on the beach and swam in the North Sea.

My favorite vacation is in Estes Park, Colorado. The mountains are spectacular! Rocky Mountain National Park is a treasure for hiking and camping, and the elk are everywhere to see! The town of Estes Park is lovely, and the people are extremely friendly! But best of all, the weather is awesome in the summer!

Chicago Baby! Loved it and would go back again and again. So many different things to do each time. I've been 3 times in 3 different seasons and it's beautiful!

I travel for a living and have been fortunate enough to have seen many beautiful places all over North America and Europe. Out of all of these gorgeous places, the place the family always wants to visit is Tennessee, here in the good ol' USA. My family has gone every year since I was in 6th grade. It is such a relaxing vacation and there are so many things for everyone to do. The boys love their golf and the girls enjoy the pool and shopping. The whole family enjoys evenings on the lake and dinner on the grill. I feel very blessed to spend these summers enjoying the company of my family. With all of our busy lives, I truly take pleasure in these small moments of time where I can simply enjoy the company of those I love.

Cape Hatteras, NC!!

My favorite vacation was traveling back from Florida. We stopped in The Smokey Mountains to just take the whole day to explore but we still didn't have enough time to see everything. It was my kids first time being out of state and seeing mountains. Just to see their faces enjoying the sites was the best part of the vacation.

The kids always say they want to go back there to see the mountains once again. My husband got laid off from his job so this year we had to skip a vacation. My kids where disappointed but very understanding. Can't wait to take them a next vacation.

Victoria, B.C. is a beautiful city that i never tire of.
even though i live on vancouver island, when i want a getaway that refreshes and delights me every time, i phone my best friend and we're off for a weekend of thrift store shopping and sightseeing.
there is always so much to do there and many things that cost very little which is great since we are both on a perpetual budget.
a quick tip: stay at the best western inner harbour, you are right in the thick
of things there and can easily walk to everything you need, so you don't have to pay for parking the car everywhere.
if you do want to ride, the transit system is great in the city too, frequent buses and you can buy an all day bus pass cheaply.
you get a free breakfast daily and have a pool on the premises which is
really refreshing when you get back after all day out in the city.
nothing like a swim to make you sleep well.
each room comes with fridge and microwave which we really make use of
by having our meals in, another money saver.
even though we have to do it on a shoestring, it is still great fun just to get
outta town and have fun snapping up bargains with a good friend.
I'm grateful that we do have that best western to stay at, if we didn't have
reasonably priced accommodation, we wouldn't even get to do that.
we spend so much of the rest of our lives taking care of others at work and at home, those" taking care of me weekends" are essential to my health and well being...

The best summer vacation I've ever had was in Victoria, B.C. The Butchart Gardens, the beautiful city all dresses up in the most colorful hanging flower baskets and the friendly people all make for a wonderful destination. There are endless activities such as kayaking, air tours, horseback riding, carraige rides, high teas, haunted tours and the best pubs this side of the British Isles.

I've been fortunate to have been able to travel a significant amount: a year in Greece attending college and trekking about the region, including ten days hiking and spear fishing for our room and board around Mt. Athos' monasteries, truly a throwback to Medievil times; diving with southern humpback whales in Tonga; drift diving with turtles in Cozumel; diving with dozens of sharks in Roatan Island, Honduras; climbing the Sydney Harbor Bridge; abalone diving and kayaking through caves in Mendocino, Ca.; backpacking through the Sierras 40 years ago, when it was still safe to drink from a flowing stream.... But the funnest summer trip was twenty-five years ago in Lake Tahoe. We traveled there with my young son and my wife's brother and his wife and four young kids. Sand Harbor, with its boulder-lined, azure-blue secluded coves, set against a backdrop of majestic peaks encircling one of the world's purest and most pristine lakes, is still one of my favorite places on the planet. We snorkled, catching a bucket of crawdads,then cooked, peeled and ate them. We hiked to Vikingholm on serenely picturesque Emerald Bay. We rode horseback untethered & without a guide through the woods. My son and I parasailed tandem five hundred feet over the lake. The next morning very early, he and I took a charter out onto the lake and netted him a Mackinaw trout!
Then to cap off the entire experience, we sat front row and center for the BEST 4th. of July fireworks we have EVER seen! They lasted for over 90 minutes, were launched over the water, with a flotilla of boats and several distant displays going off in the background combining to complete our perfect show.
But our vacation wasn't over yet, so we drove down to Yosemite and absorbed all of the Valley's majesty, while we fished and frolicked with the kids in the Merced River, took in the view from Glacier Point and then hiked five miles back down to the Valley floor.
Since we had to show off even more of California's natural beauty, we took my visiting in-laws to San Francisco to experience the magic of the city by the Bay. We rode the trolleys, ate at Fisherman's Wharf, and then walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and back.
No California trek would be complete without a spin through Carmel's Seventeen Mile Drive, then down Highway 1 through Big Sur, and down the coast to Hearst Castle,The Enchanted Hill ( La Cuesta Encantada)...Priceless

The best vacation I've ever been on was a trip to Grand Cayman Island in the British West Indies. We swam with stingrays, shopped in Georgetown, and spent most evenings just watching the sunsets from our beach chairs. The locals were extremely friendly and made our trip more enjoyable by recommending which restaurants to try.

The best vacation spot ever is by far the Canary Islands. An unbelieveable paradise. So exotic.

My best holidays were held in Catalonia. A few days in Barcelona and then the unforgettable trip to small towns. In which I wanted to stay forever.

San Antonio, Texas is the best!! The Riverwalk is amazing! The best mexican food in the country and the ALAMO!!

Walt Disney World - where else can I be a kid with my kid! We go every year and dont get tired of it!

One of my favorite trips was to New York. I had a ball. It was hot but there were so many fun things to do. Lots to see & experience. Loved every second of my trip & wished I could stay longer!

It's got to be Vegas. I was proposed to there, went back to get married there and every trip since then has been a blast. Each time we go back, the town is different and better. We love it!

YO HO, YO HO San Francisco's where I want to go! Theater, concerts, ethnic diversity, dining opportunities SO MUCH TO SEE & DO & BE there!
Day trips, too: Muir Woods to smell the redwoods, sailing, coffee...And one of my favorite things to do: ride the first trolley down to the wharf and back; watch the city wake up. I can feel that ocean breeze right now!

Year after year we go back to the Eden Resort Inn in Lancaster PA. The villa's there are like a home away from home. While it isn't a glamorous vacation it is a very special and relaxing one that we look forward to time and time again. It's a time to relax and reconnect with each other while enjoying the beautiful Penn countryside. Just 2 more weeks till we return "home".

Our most memorable vacation is when my husband and i went to the Greek Islands, the Meditteranean island of Cyprus, and Egypt, for our honeymoon. Unforgettable.

I have a couple of memorable summer vacations. 2 to the Greek Island of Rhodes while stationed in Izmir, Turkey and last summer in Minot, ND for a family reunion that brought 135 family members together including 9 from Norway.

HANDS down, it's Hilton Head Island S.C.

My husband and I rented a house in Salulita, Mexico and had a wonderful time in a small village for a week. We climbed 110 steps to get to our house about 2 times each day, swam in our own pool "el naturale" as we looked over the ocean since no one lived above us and played broomball with the beetles in the morning who would fly into our open air Casa. We cooked wonderful meals, went on a "jungle walk" that turned out to be a dry creek bed but we didn't get lost, swam at the "Beach of the Dead" and ate the most wonderful seafood Mexican meals. We handed out toys and pencils to the village children and became quick regulars to Choc Banana for the frozen treat of bananas dipped in chocolate and rolled in a variety of toppings. We talk about that week often. My husband remembers the snake and odd animals on our walks and I remember the incredible romance of this wonderful town on the Pacific ocean, plus I managed to hold my own in our tournament of cribbage every night. Can't remember who won though-that wasn't so important.

The Last 12 years have been to Black Rock City...... wOw.......

Puerta Vallarta or Maui Hawaii are our two favorite places.

My wife and I have had great moments while in Destin, Fl. On a recent stay, we were in an upper level room with a balcony. The view of the ocean at the beach front BW hotel made the stay one to remember. This stay ended a wonderful trip for us and is considered amongst the best trips we have ever taken.

Orlando, FL was a great stay for us. We spent time here on a wedding trip. Although we are adults, we were able to let our hair down and have fun like kids

My favorite vacation spot may not be fancy, or even exotic. However, my family spent every summer in an old, tiny beach house shack on the island of Port Aransas, TX. The reason I share with you today is it's been a dream of mine for the last 10 years to take my husband to my childhood dreamland. Wonderful people, beautiful beaches, salt in the air, the seafood, searching for seashells at night....The list could go on and on....
That beach holds a lifetime of memories for our family; I just look forward to the day it becomes a part of my husband's heart too.
If anyone is looking for a great vacation spot-I would recommend it to all for some fun, fun, fun!!

Definately the Oregon Coast... where water and summer hold hands... what I like about the Oregon coast is it's not all sandy beaches, the rocky shoreline can be amazing with stormy days and wave sprays. For hot summer days, the cooler temps along the coast are perfect, the people friendly, the daydreams immeasureable!!

It has to be Disneyland. I get to be a big kid again, let loose and really have some fun! I'm a ride nut so that helps! As much as I love the calm of the oceans or lakes, this place just lets me become me, smiles and all!

I have several places, but the South Island of New Zealand has to be the best. We stayed at a BW in Christchurch that was great and that city is wonderful. The South Island has so much to do especially for the outdoor enthusiast.

A trip to Cancun, Mexico twenty years ago, was so much fun, we ran out of cash, and had to borrow the $15.00 return tax fee from a great fellow passenger, for our return trip home. Otherwise, we would still be in Cancun. Maybe not such a bad idea.

Several years ago our family went to Las Vegas, not only as a GET AWAY vacation, but a celebration four fold. My husband I just celebrated 30 years of being married, our oldest daughter had just graduated college and our youngest daughter was getting married (and was pregnant with our first grandchild). Not only did we have a great time, the family got to spend some time together.

The Oregon coast holds special memories for us. From fishing, to whale watching, to lighthouse exploring, to the daily walks on the beach collecting treasures. We've enjoyed the BW Lincoln Sands for many visits. It has spectacular ocean views and Pacific sunsets.

Kauai is the best place to be, hands down. The people are friendly, and the air is soft and warm. In addition the beaches are amazing, everywhere you look is beautiful, and there is hiking, kayaking, whale watching, swimming with sea turtles, snorkeling, diving, boogie boarding, surfing, and just plain lazing about on the beach or lanai. The aloha spirit is alive and well there; Kauai oka noi (Kauai is the best).

The ancient city of Petra in Jordan is a place that I could spend a lot more time exploring. Just entering the place by walking for 1/2 mile through a narrow high-walled canyon was an experience. The structures carved into the rock are magnificent as well as the colorful pattern of the rocks themselves. Definitely a place to return to.

Last year my wife and I took the Old Rt.66 route. We started at Conway, Texas and stop at alot of places. It was just amazing to be able to take that route on our motorcycles. On the way to Chicago, we seen some amazing sites and met some other bikers and had a great visit and a great time. It was the most interesting trip that we had ever took by ourselves. This year we are going to finish up the Rt. 66 route by going to California. We have heard that some of the route is impassable due to the roads were not taken care of. We are going to do the best we can to find the roads. We are taking two weeks and hoping that we will have a blast doing it. These two trips will be trips of a life time. I decided last year to do this and we are going to complete the trip this summer.

My Most Fun summer destination was Barbados. I Jet Skiied, Para-Sailed and rode the Banana Boat for the first time there. I has so, so much fun and Want to Go Back very Soon!!

Upstate New York is a great region to visit in the summer time. My father's from there and he has shown us all over from Schenectady to The Shores of Lake Erie. The Empire State is where you want to be in the summer time.

We are foster parents to a 2 year old and a 14 year old, the 14 year old just moved in with us and has to attend summer school. Soooo.... we are planning a trip to 6 flags and then going to the beach, she has never been to a 6 flags or a beach. we are staying at a best western ofcource, the leiger in, They are selling us VERY cheap 6 flags tickets. We are very exctied about this.

Cruising up the coast of Norway on a Hertigrutin ship and crossing the Artic circle for days and days of 24 hours of daylight. We stayed at the Best Western Bondenhiem in Oslo for 3-4 nights with a fabulous Norwiegien breakfasts and took the train to Bergen, then sailed to the nightnight sun. We were really away from it all , yet had it all.

Favorite summer vacation spot is San Diego, CA with all of the great things to see and do and the wonderful, moderate climate.

my favorite place is Naguabo, Puerto Rico. I had never been to that town and let me tell you I was amazed at the beauty of this place, the beaches, food and mostly the spectacular mountain views. It was like being in heaven. This place is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Costa Blanca in Spain, I mainly stayed in Alicante with other friends. Would love to go back and am planning in the near future.

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The water taxi ride is really neat.

One of our favorite spots is Cabo, Mexico. We loved touring around and enjoyed all the water sports. There is so much to see and do and no matter where we ate, the food was so-o-o delicious. It is a colorful and lively place!

I love to take an Annual Road Trip on my Harley from California to visit my Family in Tennessee. The visit with the family is good, but the trip to and from Tennessee is the best part.
I can take I-10 to El Paso Texas. Then take I-20 to Dallas/Ft. Worth. Then take I-30 to Little Rock, AR. then hit I-40 into Memphis. Or take I-15 up to I-40 and I-40 all of the way to Memphis. The advantage if the I-40 trip is I can take side trips on Old Route 66. The old Motels are OK, but to stay at the New Best Western at locations along the way make the trip better.
If the trip is during the first part of August, I can take I-15 up and make the trip stop at the Sturgis Bike Week, before going on to Memphis.
Any time you can make the trip the fun part of the vacation, and not the destination, it is a Great vacation.

Our most memorable summer vacations have always been the Oregon Coast, but last year, even more memorable was Seaside and Astoria, espeically with the anniversary of the making of the movie, Goonies! It is always so peaceful and the beautiful sunsets with the waves crashing on the beach are more than surreal.

The Gulf Coast has some of the nicest beaches. I hope this will remain so after the oil leak situations is finally brought under control.

Best trip for Summer fun...rent a Mustang convertible and spend a couple days visiting the beaches, and shops along the California Coast line from Santa Monica to Laguna. What a great trip!! A nice break to add to a Disneyland vacation for sure. Kids love it too!

The best summer vacation my wife and I had was driving through the Canadian Rockies, staying in Banff, Jasper, and visiting all the beautiful scenery. It is so peaceful and quiet, truly a beautiful trip.

1987, Huntington Beach OP Pro surfing contest. My friend and I were 15 and it was such a funtime. We also went to Disneyland and they had a teen area where there was a DJ and dancing and that was such a blast! I remember what I wore even, banana clips in my hair!!

Daytona Beach was a great vacation spot for my son and I. We stayed near Main Street and the Boardwalk; would never have had to get back in the car if we didn't leave town. I love the shops, the inlaid bricks with info on the beach auto racing that started NASCAR, the pier, water parks, and especially the beach and ocean. Daytona Beach is close enough to make a day trip to Orlando to visit Gator Land and the Orlando Hard Rock Cafe, which are both worth the hour drive. We were also lucky enough to be there for the July 4, 2006 Space Shuttle launch and drove down to Titusville to watch. That was the most awesome event I have ever seen. Daytona Beach has something for everyone, young, old, and every age between.

Ireland. I went years ago with my niece and I would love to take my boys there. The people are so friendly and the lanscape is breathtaking.

I traveled to Cinque Terre, Italy on my way through Europe and it was by far the best vacation spot. We hiked through all five towns along the mediterranean. Beautiful views, people and fantastic food!

Savannah, Georgia! Lots of GREAT restaurants (including little Mom & Pop places) and things to do. Lots of fun but my favorite part was eating all of the authentic, homemade, Southern food & sweet tea!

I live in Australia and I think the best summer destination is without a doubt...right here! We have it all - beautiful beaches, warm and sunny climate, great but relaxed dining. We Aussies know how to do fun in the sun!

ZION NATIONAL PARK in Utah. We made an impromptu visit last year from Las Vegas. We fell in love with all the natural beauty. It is breathtaking! We didn't want to leave. We went for a day trip and ended up spending the night.! It really is heaven on earth.

I live in Missouri....hot, humid Missouri and I was 29 the first time I laid eyes on the ocean in Daytona Beach Florida. We drove in down there and I couldn't wait to find our hotel, I got impatient, pulled into some hotel parking lot and ran to the fence to look over the edge.......to the most beautiful sight I had EVER seen. It actually brought tears to my eyes. The feel of the sand and the sound of the waves plus the color of the sky meeting the water....so blue! I am a people person so I loved the board walk and the crowd of sun-worshippers and the bars that opened onto the beach at night. People were so friendly. I have gone back every chance I got and took my teenage daughter there 2 years ago, just the two of us even tho it wasn't the first time she had been to Daytona, and she loves it just as much as I do. We stayed in a Best Western on the beach that had it's own restaurant. Both of us tell everyone that restaurant had the best frenchfries we have ever eaten and we plan to go back to Daytona, stay at the same place and eat there again. (We ate at the restaurant all meals for 3 days sharing a huge platter of fries for lunch and dinner each day.) Daytona has had my heart for 20 years and now has hers too. If it weren't for family ties, we would be living there, running a gift shop and being beach bums. Maybe some day yet..........

My favourite all time summer vacation is to Walt Disney World. Nothing beats the fun, warmth, friendliness, and magic that everyone feels; no matter what age!!!!

Newfoundland was probably our most interesting vacation with its rugged coastline, unique inlets and bays, quaint villages, whale watching, icebergs and friendly people.

The best vacation I ever had was backpacking through Europe by myself. I met people from all over the word and experianced things that I would'nt have here in the US.

The most fun spot for me is Mrtyle beach SC. There is so much to do there! There are numerous golf courses and if you don't like than you can shop along the strand or Barefoot landing. Than there is the beach.....I love walking along it in the morning just as the sun is comming up.

We absolutely love going to Orlando, Fl. Disney World. We keep going back! The kids love it and the adults also find a lot to do here as well.

When it comes to getaways I'm more non-traditional and prefer staycations Our best staycation was going to a popular local water resort about an hour and a half a way last year. Since its an indoor water resort we didn't have to worry about the hot sun beating down on us while we spent an entire lazy day in the pool

Laguna Beach, CA. It's such a nice getaway spot not to far from me.

Honestly, anywhere I can spend relaxing time with my family, I am having the time of my life. The kids require a BIT more excitement to have them begging for more, so the summer fun destination where ALL of us want to stay just "one more day" is Disney World in Orlando, Florida. No exaggeration: it's simply MAGICAL!!

Chincoteague Island, VA. Great beach, wildlife refuge and wild ponies. The Best Western there is the cleanest and friendliest hotel on the island.

The Oregon coast in August is usually blissfully cool and damp - fantastic for those of us who hate hot weather!

My favorite escape is the west coast of florida.That areais much more laid back and quiet than where i live.I need a vacation so very badly from being a single mom for 18 years .

Our most fun summer destination of all time has to be on the island of Maui...the road to Hana. Along the road to Hana, you will see fabulous waterfalls and beautiful scenery/landscape.

Last summer I went to the city of Las Vegas...I can definitely say I had the time of my life. As for my "family begging me to stay longer," that was not exactly the case. I mean, rarely is a man of my age reduced to throwing tearful tantrums, let alone in hotel lobbies, and then getting dragged out to the street as their nose grinds across the bright and lush red carpeting of the casino floor allowing them to savor the last hint of spilled Mimosas and cheap perfume that in conjunction with the sound of chips flying and jackpots chiming evoke great memories that seem too distant now. I NEED TO GO BACK.

I went all over Western Europe for my 16th birthday many years ago! It was amazing. I visited England, Belgium, Germany, France, and Switzerland. I can now say that I have snowboarded in the Swiss Alps! WHAT an experience!

The best vacation time I ever had was taking my wife to disney. She was like a little kid and I must say that it brought the kid out in me also.

I really enjoy the coastal areas because of the beach. My wife likes to sat and read a book while I am walking along the sea shore looking for shells and marine life. Most recently at one of florida's beaches we experienced a wonderful view of a sceen that I hope will still be there for years to come.

2006 was the best year of my life. My boyfriend and I sold our house and decided to travel the world for a year. We traveled backpacker style and lived like locals. It was an amazingly enlightening experience and the best education a person could dream of. Of the 20 plus countries we visited on the trip one of my favorites had to be Thailand. We spent almost a month traveling the country and throughly enjoyed the food, culture and people. I would highly recommend visiting this fantastic country to anyone that has a thirst for adventure and fun!

One of the very best times I can remember in recent times is almost 7 years ago, when my husband and I spent our honeymoon in Leavenworth, WA. We had the most beautiful suite with a canopy bed and jacuzzi tub that you could see the fireplace from!
Recently, we were on our way home from an extended "retirement" vacation in May and just because we were too tired to go any further, stayed at the Humbold House (Best Western) in Garberville, CA, in the midst of the Redwoods. We had such a beautiful room and extremely comfortable bed that I talked my husband into extending our "quick overnite" into a 3 day stay! What a ball!

Tampa Florida provided a memoriable time for my wife and me. There was a great amusement park in the area as well as some nice beaches for combing in the sand.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN area is my favorite. There is so much to do there. Can't wait to go back!

This past year provided one of the best vacations that I have experienced. My wife and I spent several days in the Orlando area enjoyed ourselves as if we were kids. We ended trip near that beach and shared other magical moments.

Fort Walton Florida is a great vacation getaway. There were lots of local places to shop and eat as well good sight seeing . It also boast some great beaches and various forms of entertainment.

I love Europe i.e Italy, London, it has so much to see, beautiful cities, wanted to go back in near future.

Hagerman, Idaho. Great fishing in river and ponds! Big trout and bass. Hatcheries with nice parks and fish, and fun Sligers hot springs pool. Waterfall and Canyon Scenery on Snake River is beautiful too.Kids and grandkids all love this place for a fun weekend that most anyone can afford.

The most memorable trip was heli-hiking in the Canadian Rockies. As we hiked up and down mountains, the views, the wildflowers, the glacial streams were a photographer's paradise!
