sam_lowe-t.pngSam Lowe, an almost-native Arizonan, has been traveling and writing about it ever since he was sent to Israel and Egypt to cover a peace-treaty
signing that ended a brief war between the two countries. Since then, he
has been stranded in Zambia, sang a solo in Munich, judged a Miss World
beauty contest in Mexico, climbed halfway up Mt. Fuji, met with the prime
minister of the Republic of China, snorkled the Great Barrier Reef,
wingwalked, been a circus clown, impersonated a wax dummy and driven the
Goodyear Blimp, among other things in the 40-plus countries and 46 states he
has visited.

In a writing a career that has spanned more than four decades, he has served
as managing editor, general manager and daily columnist for a variety of
newspapers. After becoming a free lance travel writer, his stories have
appeared in the Robb Report, Sporting News, U.S. News & World Report,
Arizona Republic, Columbus Dispatch, International Tourist and Travel News,
Arizona Highroads, Sedona Magazine, Sunset Magazine, Chicago Tribune,
Seattle Times, Arizona Highways, Senior World Syndicate and several airline
and RV magazines. He has also written six books, three of them about curious
items he has discovered on his travels. He lives in Phoenix with Lyn and
Zachary, a loving wife and faithful dog, respectively. And his passport is
always at the ready.
