The world is full of wacky roadside “wildlife” to bring excitement and hilarity to any road trip. We’ve collected a couple pictures to show you how to make your next road trip larger than life.
– Mildura, Australia is home to the Murray River Cod, a fish large enough you and family could eat lunch while it eats you for lunch.
– The “Big Duck” is in the National Register of Historical Places and resides in Long Island, New York, USA. When it was built in 1931, the inside was a shop for ducks and duck eggs. If you love ducks, you’re sure to love this quirky attraction. At least, that’s what the original owner must have thought.
– Don’t worry; T-Rex wasn’t actually this big. This super-sized sculpture (shown above) stands about 75 feet tall and towers over the Tyrell Museum of Paleontology in Alberta, Canada. Can you imagine seeing that guy in your rear view mirror?
So, next time you’re on a road trip and are dreading the hours of “nothing to look at”, take a look at the map and I’ll bet you’ll find something worth taking your picture in front of. And, of course, always enjoy larger than life accommodations and service by booking at BEST WESTERN Hotels along the way.
