On May 15th, 2017, Must Do Canada’s Road to 150 begins. It took a tremendous amount of planning and preparation to organize a 150-day road trip across the country, but thanks to persistence, grit, and our sponsor Best Western® Hotels & Resorts, this massive #Canada150 celebration is happening.
As a Canadian who has traveled the world, I’ve seen first-hand how much respect Canada has garnered across the planet. Whether talking to people from Afghanistan or Australia, most people tend to look up to Canada in some way. Whether it’s our landscapes, progressiveness, or sheer kindness, there’s something about Canada that inspires people. Is it our culture, our acceptance, or our wilderness? What truly makes Canada unique? This is what we intend to find out as we travel across Canada for 150 days.
Joining me on this trip is my wife, Karla Sosa, and friend, Justin Brunelle. Karla, who immigrated from Mexico a few years ago, brings a unique perspective to this Canadian journey along with her bubbly and joyful personality while Justin, a Canadian adventure filmmaker helps bring this multimedia journey to life through video. To celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial year, the three of us will b driving coast to coast to coast to showcase Canada’s natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds to find out what makes Canada the great nation that it is. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada’s tourism to the world.
However, a trip like this isn’t cheap. We knew that we needed a variety of sponsors to make this happen and are thrilled that Best Western has decided to support us. Not only did they see the potential of a big campaign like this, but they’re also the perfect sponsor with locations all across Canada and the world. Whether we’re exploring the history of Quebec City, the laid-back charm of Nova Scotia, or Okanagan wineries, we look forward to spending our nights in a Best Western property. Whenever we’ve done road trips in the past, we always look for a Best Western due to their location, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast at most locations, and their clean and well-equipped rooms. I’m also a Canadian travel hacker, which means I’m very active when it comes to earning frequent flyer miles and reward points. That’s why I love the Best Western Rewards® program, which gives you 10 points per dollar spent and redemptions like free nights, gas cards, dining, entertainment, and more. Plus, the points never expire!
