You Must Be Trippin'

I would nominate my hard working hubby as a candidate for a well earned vacation. He has slogged through the rain or snow, sleet or hail for over thirty years earning a living for his family as a letter carrier. Add to that having a lawn service on the side - he DESERVES a wonderful holiday - doing whatever his heart desires!

After raising six beautiful daughters and finally having a chance to spend some quality time together, my husband and I could really use a vacation.

I nominate myself. I have not had a vacation since 2005, since then I had two heart attacks (in one month - August 2008), and been diagnosed with cervical cancer. At that point, I was forced to move in with my older sister and her adult son as I had been evicted from my apartment (the landlord lost the building to foreclosure and I had lost my job about the same time).

I currently still reside with my sister and nephew and cannot work. I have beaten the cancer but still have other health issues. A vacation would do my spirits good. The very idea of "getting away" makes me feel better - to actually do it - WOW!

Been working too many hours and not had much personal time - definitely need a vacation.

My mom and dad are 80 and 85, respectively. They have been dealing with the usual hardships and medical issues related to aging. My sisters and I would love to send them on a grand holiday to celebrate their 63rd wedding anniversary while they are still able to actively enjoy traveling. They usually are the ones who are doing things for others in their church and community where they are active volunteers. It would be nice for them to get something for a change!

My son and I sure could use a vacation. My dad, who has alzheimers, has lived with us for the past year. I am his full time caregiver. It is stressfull and none of my siblings help. Its just my son and I.

my husband really does. more specifically, he needs to go to New Jersey to see his dad. His mom had to call 911 this morning and it doesnt look good. he's 79 and his heart is failing. This would be a god send.

I too nominate me being the ONE that definitely deserves a break I work tireless unpaid as a volunteer on many projects giving back tot he community in many ways. I work as volunteer putting in many hours all my dedication to be the best at what I do giving back. Now is the time I need to have some of that come back to me:)

I'm taking my 83 year old Dad on vacation to Illinois from MS. He's in a nursing home in LA and he wants to go to see family and friends in IL one last time. We are driving and will have to stop quite a bit. He has Guillians Barre Syndrome. Being able to stay at a Best Western on the way there and back would be very helpful. He would need a handicap room. I need one! After teaching 1st graders all day and then coming home to 4males that I have to cook for, clean up after and make sure they are all on schedule , I could use a Vacation!

I'm nominating myself and the hubby. We've two kids under 6 and would love to have some time to ourselves to unwind, be pampered and enjoy some good food and wine. We married in 2011 but due to the kids haven't had a honeymoon so a 'mini moon' would be fabulous. Best Western has hotels in fabulous locations and we'd love to explore Oxford, York or Bath. I love that you have tiered your accommodation to include plus and premier. It all helps with budgeting.

My husband has been working long hours at work and when he is at home he is writing reports or getting together stats for other managers. He works late into the night and is up early and off to work at the crack of dawn. I don't know how long he can keep it up. A weekend away would do a world of good.

I am really in need of a serious vacation, I have underwent Chemo and Radiation and now I am healing up from my fifth surgery on my abdomen area and I would just love an opportunity to get away. To a nice place with sunshine to improve my mood and get me back to healing up like I should be.

omg! MY HUNNY so ToTALLY super DESERVES a vacation!!!!! Because - he drives 300kms per day to and from work so that he can spend the night with us every day - me and our two children. Because - with two full time incomes our high cost of living location drains us before we can 'pay ourselves'. My mom lives far away in another state -- and well, time off is either spent visiting her or having her visit me.

Family is great and all (ok, ok -- it is the most important thing) -- but just once, a nice vacation AWAY from family would be a rare and wonderful treat!

My husband does. It been a really snowy winter here in south Dakota. We live in the country so before work and after work he has to plow the snow so we can get where we need to go. It would be nice for us to get away from all this cold and snow!

I would like to nominate my husband Mick. He's a school bus driving, working 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in all weather conditions to make sure all the kids arrive safely to school and home again. We are currently planning a motorycycle trip with friends for June, and this would be a major bonus to our vacation!

My husband (who is step-dad to my kids) has raised my children as his own, supported them, stood by them and taught them love and respect. He has also supported me in ALL ways... emotionally and financially after a disabling incident, all the while keeping his head up and smiling through it all. I know times have been tough and he has suffered as well but he NEVER quit! I would LOVE to show him how much he is appreciated and loved by having him enjoy a "hard earned vacation"! :)

I would like to enter my husband in this contest. I truly beleive he deserves a vacation he has supported me and two daughters from a previous marraige for 30 years with no complaints. He treats my daughters and grandchildren as if they were his and they are his in every way that counts. He just got out of the hospital a few weeks ago after staying there a week, then he went back to work to soon and had a relapse. He just started back to work this week and hopefully it is still not to soon.

My mom and daddy has raised six daughters had a business and with the recession lost it all. daddy cannot retire because of a mortgagae and is having to work so hard just to keep him and mommy afloat. you should not have to be in your 70's and still work so hard. they have not got to visit me or my children there grandchildren in years this would be great for them to have to be ablt to come visit as we live 4 states apart..would make a wonderful gift for them thank you for considering them.

My daughter needs a Mother's Day weekend away. She is a grade 3 teacher and has 2 children. She is always up late at night. Teachers have much more work to do and up taking it home. That "Work" time comes after helping her 2 children with their homework. Preparing and cleaning up after dinner,laundry a well you get the picture.
I usually take her away for Mother's Day. I can not afford to do it this year and I know she really needs the break.

I would nominate my hard working husband. He has 3 jobs, a full time continental shift job, a part time job, that he does on his days off and his own cleaning business. We don't get away much, with him working so much, but when we do, we usually try to take an extended vacation, and a gift card would help.

My family has never been on a vacation--we've been married 10 years with 2 kids and have yet to make a trip anywhere. Our dream is to one day be able to take the kids to Disneyland.

I nominate my sister, Nicole - who has a 4 yr old and 2 yr old that constantly keep her going on her feet all day. She needs a vacation away and I would babysit for her to make it happen!

My husband needs a vaca. He is a k9 police officer, works very long days,details and OT and has to do training on top of all that. He works hard for his girls (me and 2 daughters). He needs some time away to spend some quality time with his family. There are days that my daughter doesn't even see him because of his schedule and her sleep schedule. My little girl recently had surgery and we could all use a few days away.

I would give this to my husband! Last year he had planed a whole week for us to get away for our Anniversary, but we ended up not finding a babysitter for the kids :( He had secretly taken the week off from work, had taken out money from his hard earned stock account (at a loss) and had packed most of our bags! The first time he'd ever done anything like that! I was soo proud and honored! But the babysitter had a last minute issue and our plans fell through! If I could win this for him, it would go a long ways to thank him for the huge effort he went through!

My husband deserves a vacation holiday as he is only 42 and has renal failure, because of cancer. He overcame Hodgkin's cancer, but his kidneys have now failed. He is currently on PD Dialysis and we are awaiting a kidney donor. He is the world's greatest father/husband we have two teenage children who is very active in their life.

He is such an inspiration to all three of us. He is not a quitter, he works 20 hours a week and attends college full time. So their is no time for him to relax and enjoy life.

Please make my wish come true and send him to relaxation for a well deserved inspiration to our life.

Well I don't have cancer or another sickness, I'm not a soldier, I don't have kids yet and I'm not bankrupt and neither is my sweetie but we both work very, very hard and don't have alot of time or extra money to do a really awesome trip. And my sweetie has never been anywhere good. So I'd really, really like to take him to "somewhere good". And Best Western's are everywhere. 250.00 can buy 2-3 nights and that would be perfect.

I would normally nominate someone else but with having to move and clean out my mom's suite last month, I sure could use a nice relaxing vacation.

Since the kids moved out, we have a lot more free time. We work long hours, and a vacation is just what we need!

I would definately give this to my husband. I he a very hard worker and works very hard for the company he works for. He works hard so I can be a stay-at-home mom. He doesn't just have 9 - 5 hours, he is constantly having to take phone calls, or reply to texts helping people out or answering questions. When he is on call, he sometimes is gone the whole night, or misses out on fun family times. I would love to suprise him with a vacation to focus on family and to relax a little.

I travel for work 20 days a month all over Fla. Love Best Western and am an elite member but I never get to stay in one for a vacation day/weekend due to how many hours a week I work.

My husband and I have moved across the country and back due to 2 job losses in a period of less than 9 months. It devastated us financially. We are working to get back on our feet, but it's been tough. A vacation would be so wonderful right now.

I run a shark-diving charity for cancer survivors. We have some upcoming trips within Southern California (Catalina Island, Mojave Desert, LA), and we could definitely use this to stay near some of our activities this spring and summer!

My spouse has been fighting cancer for over a year, It been nothing but doctor appointments and Chemo. Now it over and its our time. We need a break . Even just to get out of the house for 1 day.

I nominate a young couple who live nearby. Their baby was born back in December with severe medical problems. They have been living in a Ronald McDonald house near Pittsburgh Childrens' hospital for over three months while their baby has had multiple surgeries. I would love to present them with an opportunity to take a vacation (once they get to bring home their baby) after all they have been through.

My husband deserves the vacation. We have been married almost 40 years and he has never been without work. He has health issues, he is a diabetic, and his last job just made his health issues get to his breaking point and resigned due to health. The diabetic was high everyday and he is has so much nerve damage in his feet that he could hardly walk or stand for along period of time. A few days later his health was already starting to get better. He started working about 6 am and did not stop till 9 or 10 pm, everyday. His supervisor even called him on weekends. That was at the end of February and he has been out everyday looking, just like alot of people, but he is 58 years old. my 2 oldest sons who are graduating in June deserve a vacation! they have done great for the last 13 years in school and are ending it by making the "B" honor roll this semester!! I would love to take them away to celebrate their great job done!! so proud of my boys! :)

I would like have my wife recieve this as a gift for her hard work in a grocery store in Nokomis Florida. Our northern visitors have been very hard on her this year but she still treats all of them with dignity and respect. My husband really deserves a vacation. He started a new job about a year ago and it has been nonstop with no breaks. The plant operates 24/7 so he is called at night and on weekends. He hardly ever gets home during the week in time to have dinner with us so I would say he deserves a great holiday.

My cousin needs a holiday, her husband works in Florida and she sees him maybe twice a year. She gets up for work at 3:15 am everday, drives an hour each way to work.
She has to keep the house, the dog and the yard in order.
She is superwoman in my eyes.

My wonderful husband deserves a real vacation. He works so hard and never has time offf. If they can reach him by phone (and they do) he makes himself available 24/7 365. On top of that he has lovingly cared for me through many illnesses/surgeries including cancer. He deserves some pampering with a great vacation

My husband works very hard to take care of all of his responsibilities. He manages a construction crew, trying to keep them all working during a time when new home construction is quite slow. He works hard so I can stay home and raise our 4 children. He makes sure his younger brother, who is unemployed and has a wife and 4 kids to raise as well, has anything extra he needs. Like helping keep their vehicle running so they can get to doctor's appointments and look for work. He supports his mother and aunt emotionally as they care for their mother who is in a nursing home. His mother is currently having some health issues of her own of an unknown origin, she doesn't drive so we make sure she gets to any and all appointments as we figure this out. He cares for his responsibilities within our congregation as needed. He is the first to volunteer if something is needed. A vacation would be a great chance to relieve some stress for him.

With 5 kids I definitely need a vacation. Need I say more??

My wife & I both work; I work days, she works retail - so a lot of nights. We both also work some weekend, usually opposite weekends while the other drives the kids around to their various activities. So our time with just the two of us is limited. Now that our schedules have slowed a bit, we would love to get away for a couple days. So we have really earned a vacation.

My mother worked 60 hours a week to raise three children by herself. She definitely deserves a nice vacation.

It is I who deserves a break. Been at my current job for two years. Promises were made to me by our Managing Director, and he's not honoring them. My job used to be manageable, now it has grown to triple the work, with no end in sight, due to rapid company growth.in Yes, I have job security ...it will take 3much people to replace me. I would nominate any of the members of my family. We have been meeting challenge after challenge and together we are able to take two steps forward to our one step back. All began with me I think and a nasty ongoing and expensive marriage breakdown in 2005. In the midst of this turmoil was a life saving surgery for my brother. Once again the family pulled together to overcome the onerous financial issues. Then my mother was run over by a car; luckily she survived. Family is everything and it is said that it is our challenges that make us stronger so we must be very strong. Every member of my family is deserving to win and I hope our entry is picked. With our 50th wedding anniversary coming in August, this would be a big help for a get-away. Being on fixed incomes doesn't always allow us the freedom to get away.

My husband Chris! He is such a hard worker, goes in early and stays late! And, his job is very stressful for him. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago, and he was there for me as much as he could be, plus we BOTH worked all of the time to keep up with all of the bills, especially the medical bills coming in! Neither one of us have had a vacation in over 7 years, because of the past few years with all of my surgeries and treatments. So, we BOTH need a vacation so bad!

I could really use a vacation because Grandma bought my 8 year old son an electric guitar and the 4 year old decided they should have a band and she is the drummer with every pot and pan I own. I would love to be able to take my 9 year old little boy on a vacation. Like many others I am a single parent and I work 12 hour shifts at the hospital, when I'm not working at the hospital I'm working my second job as a waitress so I don't get to see my little boy very often at all, he is usually in bed by the time I get home and I leave for work before he is awake. Our house got foreclosed on and we had to move back in with my parents which is very hard, but my son tries so hard to be a good sport about it even though I know how much he misses his friends in our old neighborhood. I am going to nominate my wonderful mother in law and wife, they deserve some time together. Money has been so tight for us, and with my wife and I celebrating out 15th wedding anniversary this April it would be a wonderful trip for her.

My mother in law is really on of the most amazing people I know, she has such a big heart and is always helping everyone before herself. She lives with my borther in law and his wife and their two small children, there is never a quiet moment in that house with two little ones, just a weekend of peace and quiet would mean the world to her, and it would be a small gesture to show her how much we all love her and everything she does for our family.

I think all the stories here are worth while of a holiday ! Being aware of that I hope the best one does win! Being hit by a car last year really had limited my mobility of getting around had some knee surgery's I am finally able to get around and enjoy some time away! It has a been awhile a bit secluding here at home for the past while. I would take my wonderful daughter who sacrificed all of her weekends.

My wife and I could use a vacation. I spent 3 days in the hospital having tests and was bored out of my mind. I need a relaxing break far away from a hospital.

We sooo need a getaway. This past year we lost my 84 year old Dad as his kidneys shut down, my 68 year old mother in law from Emphazema, right now my Birth Mom's kidneys are shutting down, & I was in the hospital for emergency surgery last week and in the hospital for 5 days. Been very hard on all of us but especially my 12 year old son. Would be neat to get away for something FUN!!

I would nominate my teenage daughter. She is going to Thailand in July to do volunteer work in an orphanage and a battered womens shelter. She has worked so hard at her part time job, babysitting, bottle drives etc to save the money for the trip. We live in Canada and the group leaves from LA. I would love her to have a bit of a holiday at the end.

I think my wife deserves a Hard Earned Vacation!! She has been carrying around baby number 3 for the past eight months! She is tired, with an achy back and swollen feet. Our family would drive 3 hours South while we would drive 3 hours North to meet at the Best Western in Black River Falls. We have done this at least twice a year so we could spend time together. I would like to nominate my husband......he struggles financially for the past 12 years due to a case of bad luck. He also has a very stressful job and always ready to help others..he does lots of volunteer work as a coach in soccer and hockey for the past 10 years, very devoted to his and other kids. We have 3 kids together and kids would love to get away as a family.....they are young and do not understand why we can not always do what most their friends do...it would be a great idea for dad to surprise them....they would certainly be happy little kids. He always thinks for others,it would be away to pay him back for all his hard work and financial stress. Thank you still trippin....

I nominate myself because as a mother and a SAHM at that I do everything for everybody else all day, every day. I need to do something for myself for a change even if it is just entering a contest with hundreds of others in the hopes of winning something for myself.

I would love the opportunity to win the $250 Best Western gift card for my sister and myself. She just started a new job after being without work for several years. Hope she can keep it. The job is very demanding. I am trying to find a job, too. The town that we live in doesn't have many job opportunities. It is a pain in the you-know-what when you don't have a job. We are struggling with almost having an empty bank account as well. A trip to the Mississippi or Alabama Gulf Coast would be a wonderful beachy getaway for us. I would have to nominate my wife. She came to this country 3 years ago know ing a little English and has taken every one she meets by storm. She studied Engish hard in Community college in Reno, NV and since then went on to complete a Med Assistant course at Kaplan College in TX. She was a nurse back in her native Ukraine but here they keep throwing more obstacles in her way and she goes about tackling them with a big smile on her face. She now needs a certification in English before she can take the NCLEX exam and then its 6 months of refesher courses before any license can be issued. One step at a time is how I described things to her and she is gonna finish it all one day soon. Needless to say her 16 yr old son has taken to life here like a duck to water and his English is excellent these days. I think Hawaii would be her choice vacation as visa rules keep her in the US right now plus it is a half way around the world from her native Ukraine.

I nominate my friend-Fai. He works hard all day. Most evenings he spends on the computer.....more work....there is always work. He has very little time for himself and deserves a holiday.

I deserve a vacation, even a weekend getaway. I have not gone anywhere in years, am on social security and can't afford it. I have had a lot of medical problems and surgeries the past few years, and I spent 6 weeks in a burn unit with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on both feet, had a toe amputated and many skin grafts. Took months before I could walk again. I don't ask for much, never have, but would love to just get away. Thank you.

It has been a long winter. It has been one kid, adult sick after another. I need a break from cleaning up snot, poop and vomit.

I need a trip back to Kodiak, AK. We took my best friend Kelly on her bucket trip there last year. It wasn't just a vacation, we were looking for a place to spread her ashes when her time here was done. We lost her Nov 24th of 2012. We need to go back to Kodiak to fulfill the last promise of laying her to rest there. So not a vacation per say but a fulfillment of a last promise.

Me and the wife would love one. School, work, raising a family, and supporting my mother-in-law too. Just to get away from the in-law for a few days would be great.

No big sob story here ~ just a love for travel and a desire to reward my husband for all the wonderful things he does for me. I would love to take him away and sweep him off his feet at one of your marvelous resorts! thanks for the chance! xox

Hello Best Western! Still have my fingers crossed, waiting to find out who the winner is...

I believe that my mother deserves this because she is taking care of four kids by herself while my father serves in the military. I think she needs this, because she has given up her whole life to make sure that her kids are having the best time they can possibly have. She does not buy herself anything, as to make sure that she always has the money to buy whatever us kids want. She has the hardest time, because we honestly do not make it easy on her, we are 17,14,11, and 05. So our family can be a handful. I feel like she needs time to herself to just breathe, relax, and refresh. Thats why I think that my mother deserves this trip!

I would like to nominate my mom for this. My mom is all by herself, raising four kids while her husband(my dad) serves over seas in the military. My mom has not done anything for herself, or by herself, since he has left, and she just wont. I feel like if she gets this she can take the time for herself to breathe, relax, and refresh. I know that it is hard on my mom, because we dont try our hardest to make it easy on her. We are 17,14,11,and 05. We are not the best bunch of kids, but we do care about our mom and I feel like this would relieve her so much! I love my mom and feel that if she got some time for herself that she would feel better and be better and some stress would be lifted.
