We used to always go to Cape Cod for our summer vactions. I collected little sand castle statues each year.

I collect M&Ms items such as candy dishes, jars, dispensers, etc. The vintage stuff is my favorite. I also collect Fiestaware dishes. When we travel I check out local thrift shops and have found some of my most cherished treasures out of town, like my two lime green Fiesta plates that were like new from a second hand shop. I also check the city we are in to see if someone may be selling what I am looking for to add to my collection.

My favorite souvenir I collect on your summer vacation travels was in Las Vegas when I bought a bobble head of Alan from the movie the Hangover. It's so funny when you check him he speaks line from the movie like "I am a one man wolf pack". I now have the bobble head set up on my counter so everyone who stops by can view him and laugh.

I wasn't the best student in history so it amazes me to learn the history while actually being there to see where it took place. I'll never be able to watch another western without thinking "hey I was there at that pass or on that trail!" I also take tons of photos. I stay at - guess! - the Best Western since it is closest to where they live in Gypsum & it's very comfortable & reasonably priced. They have a swing out in front of the hotel where you can sit & see all over the mountain. Love to have another vacation there - HINT! Lol

When my husband and I travel we make it a point to stop at interesting shops and restaurants to talk to people and introduce ourselves to them and perhaps to get to know a little about them. Over the years we have been very fortunate in meeting some very interesting people and some of them have been in contact with us. Sceneries are very nice but people behind the scenes are nicer.

Our favorite thing to collect is Christmas ornaments. It started on our honeymoon when we went to Mt Rushmore and every time we travel to a new place, we pick up a new ornament. At Christmas time, when we decorate the tree we always talk about all of the incredible places we have visited and the memories we have created. We also talk about new places where we want to go to add to our collection. It makes Christmas a very special time for us!

I think the coolest thing that I've ever gotten on vacation is when I went to the Dominican Republic. I got this huge, colorful and unique art piece that I got while I was on the resort that I was staying at. I have it hanging on my living room wall and it's the 1st thing you see when you walk into my apartment.

My favorite souvenir's are the ones we collected when we traveled across the country on a Route 66 road trip with our classic car club. We collected many momentous and met many really nice people along the way!

My favorite souvenir is a small wooden barrel, that looks like a wine barrel, that lies down on a stand. The stand has 6 wooden cups that line either side of the barrel. We picked this one up in Hawaii on our honeymoon, so of course it has Hawaii carved into the side of the barrel. I like it because at the we purchased it, we did not know we would both be such wine connoisseurs. Well, not really connoisseurs, but we both like to seek out new local wines when ever we are on travelling. So with wine tasting often on our vacation itinerary, we often find the perfect bottle to save for our following anniversary celebration.

When traveling, I always buy a postcard and mail it to myself at home. So not only do I have a postmarked postcard as a souvenir, but also a snippet of my adventures or thoughts written in my own hand. I have been doing this for as long as I can remember - since I was 10? It was my grandmother's suggestion and it has become a staple of every vacation I have taken since. I have quite a collection and in the 40 years of mailing myself, only one postcard was a no show.

I admit, I love t-shirts and sweatshirts with a cool design/wording related to the places I've just visited. Got a really great sweatshirt in Jasper, Alberta last year: it features a stylized person fleeing a bear, with the words: CANADIAN FAST FOOD. I love it! Failing the ability to get a t-shirt, I love to bring home a craft or symbol (e.g. Inukshuk or beadwork) from a place I've been, or a souvenir book. It helps me remember where I've been.

I love buying nick-nacks must to my hubbies dismay. It all started with key-chains, then it went to magnets, then post-cards, pens, photo albums and more recently paintings and decorative items such as wall hangings. I love all my nick-nacks because I feel like I brought a little piece of where I've been back with me. Every summer my husband and I travel to Nelson BC via the USA states of Washington and Idaho. It's a wonderful way to see the country via back roads and out of the way places. We always purchase local preserves where ever we stop. Sometimes it's blackberry jelly, sometimes huckleberry jam, there is no end to different products to try. These preserves are enjoyed when we return home and they remind us of all the places we have visited.

I always collect jewelry on my trips. They are the best souvenirs, in my opinion! It is something from that place or region, usually packs well without any problems; doesn't take up much room. After you get home from your trip, you don't have to keep it in a shrine. Every time I wear a piece, it reminds me of that time and place. Jewelry doesnt have to be that fancy, I have glass from Murano, Green Stone from New Zealand, Opals from Australia, etc. If you wear them all the time, they stop being souvenirs and another part of who you are.

I collect sand from every place that we travel. I have small containers of sand labeled and displayed in my classroom from all 50 states and many countries throught the world. There are many shades of White sand, as well as brown, red, and black sand.

the best souvenier we brought back from our trip last summer in So Cal was our little chihuahua, "Buddy" we rescued from a shelter in castaic Ca on the way home. We then stayed at best westerns that were pet friendly and great all the way home afterwards.

My husband and I love to collect wines from the states or countries where we have our vacation. We always taste one while on vacation and bring back two, one to share with friends and family, and the other to share between us while we remember the wonderful time we had on that particular vacation.

I collect spoons and every summer whereever I go, I buy them even my close friends and family get then for me. The best spoon I own was from Graceland when I toured the grounds with my friends. I also got one from the vatican too

For me I go to Disneyland alot and when I do, I always get a new license plate frame with the year on it. Its always fun to replace the old one and have the new one on there. It lets people know that I was there this year and can't wait to go back to get a new one for the next year. However this year not only will I get that but I intend to do a runDisney marathon so I will get me a shirt and hat to let people know that I am in training.

I collect Puppets. One of my most favorite come because our resent trip to Pasadina CA for a confrence. I found this cute pink dragon like with a hreat in the pocket. The best part was playing with this puppet while sitting around the Convention Center waiting for some of the congress to start. The kids that were with me were trying really hard to get me to put it away so not to embarrass them. But we all had fun and the kids each took turns using the puppet there to.

Well, let's see now. I've gone from the typical key chains, to refrigerator magnets to shot glasses. I have a huge selection of shot glasses which are my favorite to collect and then a few of the magnets. I always love vacationing. Not going quite as far anymore but still lots of places to go in California. Been to Oregon, Virginia and Hawaii. Looking forward to my next vacation.

Once I decided that the guest room in my future house will be themed as a tourist trap, I began buying souvenirs specifically to decorate the room. The only conditions I set for myself are: No item can cost more than $10, it has to be something I would not normally buy, and it has to be specific to a city/state or attraction. My favorite item thus far is an orange flask ( I don't drink) I bought at the airport in Austin, TX. It reads, "You can all go to hell. I'm going to Texas." Davy Crockett

I went to Disneyland for the first time last year with my friend and his mom. I'm a big fan of practical gifts and they didn't have a coffee cup with my name on it (they had sandy and sandra) so I got this picture frame that says something along the lines of, "I remember the first time...riding the monorail, walking down mainstreet...and there it was, Sleeping Beauty Castle" It definitely captured my experience, not only with the words on the frame, but also the picture I put in it...which is of me in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

I took a brick from the old Harry Houdini mansion in Hollywood. It wad abandoned and falling apart and supposedly haunted. When I picked up the brick a lot of things started moving and making noise. Old toys and pieces of wood would mysteriously appear on the ground out of nowhere.

Usually it is three or four things that I like to collect from the places we travel. A postcard from the area, a large coffee mug from that area, a keychain, and a refrigerator magnet. In the past, I used to collect Patches to apply to jackets of the various cities or towns or places of interest we visited. Mostly, we like to find something unique to that area and bring it home as a souvenir.

I used to bring back the typical collectibles....pottery, woven things, kitsch.... But as my house filled up and at the same time I became a more savvy traveler as far as limiting suitcase size, I changed to more useful things. Jewelry. I love if do g a really oce piece of artisan jewelry or, as the case when we were in Florence, Italy, a nice gold ring. Every time I wear a particular piece, I am reminded of the journey that took me to purchase it.

My husband and I started bringing back small rocks from everywhere we go. They don't cost anything and they are truly a piece of the area you have been. We mark them all with a Sharpie and have our "Rock" Collection on a shelf. It's a pretty neat conversation piece.

Cookies and candies of all kinds! I love to find things that are specialties of a specific area that we visit. For instance, taffy is always a favorite at Pacific Ocean beach area locations. Some of the Mexican sweets that are sold in open air markets are very tasty and fun. I love trying new candy bars while traveling in England...yum! So good.

I like key chains that are very specific to the local I visit. Last year it was whale tales since my son & I saw whales off of Maui on Christmas eve

I like to get a sticker with the name of the place on it. I put them on my reusable water bottle that I take with me everywhere.

On Summer vacation, my favorite souvenir to collect are sea shells from the beaches.

I love to collect nature items so I can incorporate it in memory. For instance I took leaves in San Diego and pressed them with a picture taken there.

I always try to take a vial of sand or a piece of beachwood, or shells when I visit beaches! Then I used them for decorating my house!!

I like to get ball caps to display -- and wear -- from each stop on our vacations.

I always get a magnet of the places I have been to. It decorates my fridge and when I am having a stressful day I just look at the magnets and remember the great times and it helps me get through the day.

I like to collect books. Local Recipe Books (State Fair/Church types), Books that talk about the area (Like National Parks, Museums) and Videos if they have them! Love to learn more about the areas we visit.

We go on 3 Mini vacations a year instead of one big vaca. we make it a point to take a family photo infront of a sign or attraction in every place. At the end of the year when its cold and snowing in the berkshires the kids and i reminisce and laugh while we put all the pictures from the year in a scrap book.

My fav thing to collect on vacations are t-shirts. I buy them with the name of the place we visit then I always have that memory when we wear them. Last year we cruised to Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico. I bought a shirt in each place. Now when I wear them I relive every minute we spent there. :)

We bring home LOTS of things but NOTHING is as important as the MEMORIES we made with our two daughters (one of them being a teenager and even she had a good time and didn't wanna go home!) We bring home clothing and sand but most importantly we bring home MEMORIES AND PICTURES!! We went to Seaside, Oregon June 1st to the 4th and we are STILL sad and missing it tons!!

I collect something different every time. Something special that seems to jump out at me -- a rock, a shell, a feather, a flower to press. Always something small.

But my main thing is trying new foods so I try to get a pic of me with a loacl food specialty, YUM!

I love to bring home T-shirts or sweatshirts with the name of the town, state, or a place that we visited.

I collect bells when I go on vacation.
I also like to bring home food that is unique to the region - pralines from New Orleans, my favourite.

I collect BLING!

I am in the process of doing a marathon and a half marathon in all 50 states and Washington DC. I will never win a race or even win my age group, but I do it for the FUN and the BLING. The BLING is the finsher's medals that are handed out at the finish line.

So far I have done 8 marathons, 13 half marathons in 6 states and I will be vacationing (half marathoning) in four more states.

How do I have fun vacationing (marathoning)? I do every event dressed as Mr. Incredible. Even my running partner wears a costume at these events, she is dressed as Wonder Woman.

I like bringing back local edibles from my trips, especially when they come in unique containers or boxes that I can later reuse after I've eaten all the goodies!

I like to collect glass,mugs or shot glasses so that evrytime we use them we are reminded of the fun we had while there. I also.keep maps to amusement parks, from the zoo ect. Also the map of the state put it all together and you have a nice little treasury trove from every vacation but not to be completed with out a bar of soap or potion from the.hotel.

A nice shirt or two from the destination visited. That's always a nice souvenir. Thanks.

I like to collect postcards when we go on vacation.

I always collect shot glasses from my trips to places everytime I drink out of them I think of being care free and on vacation. My most recent and favorite one is from Jamaica :)

I purchased a beautiful pair of gold earrings in the Bahamas. They are my favourite.

We take lots of photographs - so those are our souvenirs! If we find a unqiue photo album from where we are traveling, we get that to put our photos in.

They are getting kind of hard to find anymore but I collect patches for a jacket I wear

I collect postcards, spoons and any information booklets or pamphlets I can find on the area I am visiting. I then pass them onto others for future travels.

We always get Christmas Ornaments so we remember our trips every christmas

I like to collect pins, magnets and postcards.

I love to collect toilet paper from different places. I only collect one sheet. I collected the softest paper at a truck stop on my way to Kenucty from Indianapolis. Surprising, huh.

My favorite travel souvenir is the sipping glasses I got from the gift shop at the Woodford Distillery in Kentucky. I love a good glass of Bourbon and its fun to drink my Bourbon from the glass is got while at the distillery where it was made.

I avidly collect magnets from anywhere we go that say something about the places we've been.. I have about 50. Can't wait to get more!

I collect t-shirts from wherever I visit. Wearing a piece of your memories is cool, plus it starts conversations and gives an opportunity to tell others about your adventures!

I am an avid T-shirt collector. I always have to get a t-shirt at every place I visit. It is nothing to come home from a trip with atleast 20 shirts.
Even my family know if they go somewhere they have to bring me home a shirt from there also..
Then when they get worn out I cut the important part out and my mom is making me a quilt out of them. right now I am on my 7th quilt. and about time to go thru my shirts again and thin them out. I have well over 1000 t-shirts I have collected in the last 45 yrs.

When I do get a souvenir, usually it is nothing more than a few cardboard beer mats. We try to keep things light in the luggage department and I don't really need more stuff. If there is a particular local food item or candy that I don't see at home, I might pick up some of that to try or to share with friends when we get back.

For the past 25 years, my husband and I have collected shot glasses or full size glasses, whichever we like the best. We have a pretty big collection so far!

We love to collect christmas ornaments from all over the world, we do love to travel and now have to put up a second tree to accomodate them.

I collect handmade earrings. One of my favorite sets from Alaska has interchangeable drops either sterling silver salmon or a handcarved inuit face.

I like to get a couple postcards to stick in a photo album i'm making for our 12 year old son. i stick them in with pictures of our trips. then he will have his own album to look back on special trips

I seem to always buy a book about the history of wherever I am visiting.

Since I enjoy spicy cuisine, I collect bottles of hot sauce and bring them home whenever I travel.

I collect hotel soaps. When I eventually have a large bag, I bring them to our local church for needy people. Thanks Best Western for your generosity to helping people in need!

I always look for Magnets. My mother has a fridge full.. any time anyone goes some place they bring her home a magnet.. so its definitely something we look for.

I like to get postcards on my vacation just in case my photos don't turn out. I then still have pictures of where I was. Sometimes I even send them to myself to see if they make it home before I do.

Photos. I am an avid photographer and no trip is complete without pictures. Pictures are something that last forever and each time I look at them I remember the great times I had.

I am always looking for ceramic tiles with a scene painted on them, portraying the place we are visiting. They make great conversation starters.
