We spent a wonderful and romantic holiday in Skiathos, over 25 years ago. Having celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary it would be wonderful to recapture the warmth, the romantic atmosphere and just the sheer heaven of the quiet secluded beaches again where no tourists go. If only........

Taking my lovely lady to Provence in southern France would be a dream come true.

I would love to spend a weekend in Las Vegas with my Sweetheart. We have travled a lot in our time togethr, but funds are limited now and Vegas would be like a place of memories of places we visite: Eifiel Tower in Paris, canals of Venice, etc.

A camel ride before dawn to watch the sun rise over Ayers Rock in the Northern Territory of Australia. Amazing changing colors on the Rock as the light increases. Then ride back to camp for bush tea and beer bread.

I would choose Oslo Norway, to meet up with my high school foreign exchange student, best friend. It has been 20 years since I've seen her!! Would could hang out as couples, and get to know each other again.

We would love to return to the mountains of North Carolina, take a tour of Lake Lure, dine at a little place overlooking the lake, then take the Blue Ridge Parkway and leisurely stop along the way to see the NC Aboretum, the Biltmore Estates, stop over at the Grove Park Inn, wind our way along over to Blowing Rock and on into the Virginia Wine Country and eventually to Roanoke and Salem where we could visit the little farmer markets and stop at the little out of the way places that are uniquely "Americana" and speak to our hearts. . .it is always like going home to us. It brings us back to our first days of courting when we first began to spend time with one another and to fall in love with one another and to find that common ground. . .that miracle of nature, of a beauty beyond compare that is always changing shared with a friend. . .nothing like it.

My wife and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in 2013. We had hopes to celebrate this special day in Hawaii, but this idea flew out the window after checking air fares. We would at least enjoy being able to travel to Las Vegas, Florida or San Diego to observe our anniversary. Receiving your travel card would help us tremendously.

I would take a trip to Sicily or Italy with my husband of 30+ years-his ancestors are from Sicily and my son when he was in the Navy LOVED Italy-we never had a honeymoon!!!

I think for me the most romantic place to be is up in northern Wisconsin in the summer. The lakes and woods are so beautiful. In the morning all you hear is the wildlife wakeing up. In the evening it is so romantic to sit under the stars at the lake and watch the sun go down.

Chocolate Lake Halifax Nova Scotia - The Son of a Friend got married at this hotel. We stayed the evening and loved the Hotel. It would be wonderful to have a weekend stay for ourselves!

My man is having health issues. All he wants is to see palm trees before it's too late. He's still young and there's still so much he wants to see and do, but is stuck at home. Somewhere with palm trees just to make his dream come true. That's what I wish for.

Portugal would be a dream come true. To go exploring....where all the explorers started from. Portugal was a rich country many years ago. They had the spice trade. It was a main hub. They conquered so many countries and then lost them. The churches are magnificent...so many...and everyone worked for the ruler...everything put into churches. To see the fortress that overlooked the land....and to walk...run......and explore. It is an amazing country with so much history and culture. The outdoor restaurants ..... waiters wooing you in to come dine at their spot! And the custard tarts...to die for!!!!

OK, you all will think its crazy. Try Sioux Lookout Ontario. I travel there for work all the time, and my wife always wonders how it is that I speak so highly of somewhere "in the middle of nowhere". The people are awesome, the wilderness is incredible, and five minutes away from the hotel the peace and tranquility is unbeleivable. She's never ben there with me, but I intend to change that this summer...

How exciting to be able to go anywhere in the world, I would have to say that I would want to visit the Bahamas. We have traveled very little due to my health. I just recently went through a brain surgery to have a benign tumor removed which was successful. Now we see life through a different lens and want to do everything on our bucket lists of life. No more waiting. Now is the time to see and do what excites the senses and fulfills our hopes and dreams. Travel to the Caribbean is one of these things. Life is too short, live every day like its your last! :)

A great place to spend a romantic weekend would be Tofino, British Columbia. The beach and the rugged Pacific coastline offers a great backdrop for a retreat.

I would go back to Yosemite National Park. We've been a number of times, but was my Ben's favorite place on earth. I haven't been back since he passed.

We love a romantic get weekend to San Deigo CA. We love staying at the Best Western Island Palm Hotel.They offer junior suites wih a water view that help create a relaxing atmosphere.The area has great places to sight see if you're in the mood. Restaurants are fantastic and endless too, but if you just want to hang out in the room to eat it has a great kitchenette.To top it all off the local businesses have always been warm and friendly. We have met many great people that make us feel like locals. I think you can tell by now San Deigo is one of our favorite getaways. Hope you can make it some time.

Our 50 th wedding aniversity is coming up march 4 - 2013. We would both love to go to New York city and experience that hustle and bustle.

Back to my birthplace - The Hague, Holland - to see where I was born (1946) and visit the church where my parents were married (a Canadian soldier and his Dutch love). So many things my mother talked of in Holland that I would love to see and experience.

My boyfriend and I have always dreamed of going scuba diving in Belize. This is our special time to hold hands and kiss underwater while escaping from the outside world. It's magical diving with your partner in the great big sea!

My most romantic place would be a cabin in the woods in winter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A nice fire and hot tub to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of a winter weekend.

In this remote part of the world on the largest cadera lake in the world, the most beautiful and romantic sight is the Sipiso-piso waterfall. In the Indonesian language it mean small knife because the waterfalling from 120 meter high looks like a blade of a long knife. The vegetation is lushciously green with the water flowing out the mouth to the biggest inland lake (Lake Toba) on this 1050 mile long Sumatra island. All you hear is the thunderous sound and peaceful scenery. Life is at a standstill here where you relax. I wish to spend my time with my lost love. It takes some efforts to get to this part of the jungle but once you get here you will be spoiled by the life in Lake Toba. Look it up on tripadvisor.com There are many hotels here suited to every taste. This is not a party island but get you close to nature. Clean water and the temperature is just nice to swim in. This is the paradise in this part of the world (Shhhhh..... this is a secrete). A place to wind down and relax and recharge. Romantic in the eyes of beholder.

While we are still able, the cliff-side villages of the Cinque Terre, in Italia, would be an amazing destination. The opportunity to take in the colorful and extraordinary architecture looking up from the sea and to climb to the mountaintops to look down would be bella bella.

While I have never been, I imagine spending time in California Wine Country (Sonoma County) with my husband of 13 years could be most romantic. We could sample wine from several of the local wineries, have romantic candle light dinners without whining (that would be because our children would not be with us). We would stay at the Best Wester Elm House Inn and take a swim and use the hot tub. Then we might drive down the coast along highway 1 to stretch our time together. Maybe visit the Hearst Mansion and stop in Santa Barbra and stay at the Best Western Pepper Tree Inn. Both of these hotels offer tastefully appointed rooms and romantic grounds. I think I might have just started planning our next vacation together!

Being a food & music guy, there is no better place than New Orleans! Great food virtually everywhere, tremendous music, and plenty of dancing. Hit the zydeco dance floor at the mid-city Rock 'n Bowl, any Cajun dance hall out near Lafayette, the club scene in Frenchtown, Tipitina's Uptown for Mia Borders or the Iguanas, or the Maple Leaf at river bend for Walter "Wolfman" Washington. The humid and sultry weather adds to the mood and the dancing helps burn off those high-calorie meals.

Time it right and you can throw in the Voice of the Wetlands Festival in nearby Houma during the daytime. No better bang for the buck and hidden musical talent every year begging to be discovered.

My wife and I have always wanted to visit Paris in the spring. Maybe this year we will be able to go.

We love to get off the beaten path, to travel backroads and find the small town gems, and quite often find a nice Best Western too! The romance is sharing these experiences and making memories together, sometimes farther away involving days of travel and sometimes not far from home, but enough to make it feel like a mini-vacation - it's the time spent that makes it special. Best Western has properties in so many great locations, it would be hard to chose just one, so we'll just have to work our way through the list!

When I was 19 I was a student in Europe and loved visiting Paris in the Springtime. My girlfriend and I fell in love with the City of Lights - the art, food and impressive architecture. We enjoyed walking for miles and people watching. Paris is truly for couples in love. My girlfriend eventually became my wife. We always planned to return but that never happened. The years passed and she died. Now that I am 69 yeas of age, it would warm my heart to walk Paris again and recall those times that were so special.

Cambria is my choice for a romantic get-a-way. My husband and I love spending the weekend there. The Cambria Pines are beautiful and Moonstone Beach is awesome! A sleepy beach town that is perfect for us.

Some places would take more than just a weekend, so feeling rushed isn't very romantic. For peaceful, romantic bliss, my wife and I would travel to Algonquin Park in northern Ontario. Whether we are in a hotel, cabin, or tent, the nights under the skies, possible campfires, nature walks, and canoeing around endless lakes takes my wife back to her childhood. She pines for a weekend like this, so giving it to her would be most romantic for us.

I would pick Dublin, Ireland. I had purchased a trip to Dublin for Christmas & New Year. It was my life time dream vacation. Shortly after booking the trip, I starting dating my boyfriend. So it ended up that our first Christmas and New Year as a couple was spent apart. I know how much we would enjoy that trip together. I could just imagine us sitting in the Guinness Store House Lounge, drinking our Guinness while looking over the lights of Dublin.

I would choose Sedona, Arizona, which we have visited once before. There is spirit-restoring beauty, wonderful hiking, and a restful quiet. We only planned on two days, and stayed for five--it would be wonderful to return and stay longer!

My perfect weekend away with my honey would be in Bora Bora. I've travelled a fair bit but my partner hasn't. I have always wanted to go somewhere tropical where I could Stay in one of those over water bungles right on the ocean. You have your own personal entrance to the prestine waters everyday, to be able to gaze out over the lagoons and watch the sunset while wrapped up together in a hammock. To be able to jump into a couple of kayaks right from your front door and take a picnic lunch to your own secluded beach for the afternoon. To be able to experience something like that with the man I love .. to be with him while he experiences the joy of travelling to a tropical foreign country for the first time.... I couldn't imagine anything more romantic.

A romantic getaway to Victoria, British Columbia would be delightful. Being a capital city makes Victoria a beautiful location. No matter when you go it is green and lush. Springtime is my favourite time of year -- daffodils are are everywhere, cherry blossoms and flowering dogwoods line the streets. One can walk for miles around the harbour. And course there are ever so many quaint shops, restaurants, bookstores and coffee bars to while away the time. A visit to Victoria would be a lovely springtime interlude!

Blue Lagoon in Iceland. I was there with my honey a number of years ago and I went to get a massage, but when I returned to the lagoon, I couldn't find him! The place is huge and there's always a foggy mist so you can't see too far. So here I am in the most romantic, warm, interesting place in the world and I'm alone. So many bistros and the largest stretch of sand to walk and talk along. Sweet place for Sweethearts. There are several BW there and they are all great and provide parking. Love it!

My romantic getaway would be to Kauai HI. My husband is retired Navy. As a young enlisted couple we didn't have money for a honeymoon. We were stationed in HI. for nine years (1977-1986) but we only had one weekend getaway (just the two of us) in all those years. When he came home from a six month deployment a friend watched our son while we went to Kauai (1978). It was wonderful, we went to the Fern Grotto and relaxed on the beach. That was magical, when they sang The Hawaiian Wedding Song I cried. My mother had been there in the 60's and it was just like she described. We've never been back to Hawaii since we left.
This summer will be our 37th anniversary, it would be wonderful to go back to Kauai and visit the Grotto again.

We never have gone, because we always have been buys raising our kids when they were younger & our vacations then were always family vacations & kid freindly. This wonderful Country has so much to offer. My husband and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this year and we would love to go to Old Quebec to take in the old world charm of this wonderful City. We have not been able to travel much but when we do Best Western Hotels have always been our first choice in hotels.

About 3 years ago we were going to go biking in St Ignace in the fall. We had reservations at the Best Western there and we were calling it our "romantic get away", as it was our first trip away as empty nesters. My husband lost his job about 1 week prior to our departure.
Needless to say, the trip was first to go. It would be 2 years before my college educated husband found a job.
Over the last 2 years we have been trying to get back on our feet, and yet we still haven't forgotten our "romantic get away".

I think I would love to go back to Catalina Island for a Romantic Weekend. When we were there many years ago we had meant to explore the island but found a quiet little spot to have a couple of drinks and just watch the harbour which we ended up doing the whole time we were there. That's easy. There is nothing so spectacular as Reykjavik, Iceland and the hot springs pools. In winter, with only 4 hours of daylight, the island takes on a wonderful romantic feel. The smoked fish is delicious, too!

This great hotel find was off the beaten path and in a great location that made that area of Germany truly shine. My heritage began just 1 town away from this location so it has a very special place in my heart. Cobblestone streets, little Beer houses, great restaurants, I cant wait to go back!

If I can put in a a plug for Best Western, they have one of the nicest luxury and romantic hotels just outside of Venice, Italy. Check it out...in Preganziol, Italy, an old mansion, with just a short train ride into Venice with the train station just 10" from the hotel, on the same road. Then, after touring Venice, take a stroll in the next town north of Preganziol, in Treviso, Italy.. Wonderful! You'll love all three ...the hotel, Venice and Treviso....all very romatic and dripping with culture and history.

My friend suffered a huge loss in her life and I think a perfect way to put a smile on her face wold be to go on a trip to a sunny beautiful location and pretend we are in heaven, that much closer to her brother.

The Royal BC Museam in Victoria will always be special for me. If I could spend a romantic weekend anywhere in the world, I would take my husband back to the Best Western Naples Inn & Suites in Naples, Florida. The tropical ponds, waterfalls, swimming pools and hot tub are incredible. Plus, I loved eating breakfast in the garden area. I could definitely use some warmer weather, and southwest Florida is where I'd like for us to be right now.

New Orleans, la is where I would go. Getting powdered sugar all over my clothes from eating beignets at cafe du mo de is my idea of romance. Listening to new Orleans music while riding in the streetcars or riding in a horse drawn carriage can be so refreshing from the daily realities of life. Having someone to share it with is the equivalent of sipping on a pat o brines hurricane.

Sunshine Mountain in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada is where I would be. You can only get to the base of the hill by gondola, another romantic thing to do!

My dream romantic getaway is one where few people have gone before, because I always like to be different. :) So no Paris or Vegas for me, my first choice of a date would be Antarctica. Just imagine, long cross country skiing on the beach, candlelight dinner in a melting igloo to the candlelight, watching the sun set on a field of penguins getting eaten by seals while National Geographic is hiding in a corner filming in slow motion. When it comes to full time jobs, raising 5 children and busy lives, any time away with the one you love would be romantic as it's not only the place your at, it's the person your with.

My most romantic memory is: our honeymoon was spent in Raleigh NC to attend the Special Olympics my son participates in. My hubby is a retired drill sgt. and is salty and crusty, but he accepted my kids, and on the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics seeing all the athletes coming out my hubby openly wept the one and only time I have seen him cry in our many years of marriage. Thats romance in my book deep and overwhelming respect for my son and all the other athletes.
