High Hopes for BWR After the First 13 Races

June 11 2010 by Mark Deyer

BWR.jpgBest Western sponsored NASCAR driver, David Reutimann had high hopes for himself and the #00 team in 2010. In 2009, Reutimann saw many career firsts. He picked up a career high ten Top-10 finishes and was even able to squeak out his first ever trip to victory lane in a rain-soaked Charlotte Motor Speedway. Confidence was riding high at the close of the 2009 season, but it's been a mixed bag for the #00 early in 2010.

The first 13 races of the season have been anything but predictable for Reutimann. He picked up a Top-5 finish at the season opener in Daytona, but was quickly brought back to reality with 3 DNF's over his next 7 races due to mechanical problems.

The tides looked to have turned, though. In his last 5 races, the #00 team has picked up two Top-5 finishes, with an average finishing position of 10th place overall. He's jumped up 10 positions in the standings in that time and hasn't showed signs of slowing.

This success can't come soon enough for Reutimann, who faces the unfavorable and often times frustrating road course at Sonoma later in June. Reutimann has reportedly been training extensively on road courses with fellow Michael Waltrip Racing teammate Michael McDowell, a road course ace with plenty of right-turn experience under his belt.

So what can we expect from Reutimann and the #00 for the rest of the season? Surely he looks to continue his winning ways of late and maybe put an end to his road course woes. All of us at YouMustBeTrippin.com are pulling for David to crack The Chase this year and maybe even notch a second win.
