The amazing Okanagan! BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD! I love to travel up to Big White just outside of Kelowna so much to do and so many nice folks there,.

We always travel to Kelowna right before Christmas, visit the mountains and to do some shopping. My hubby and I make it our Xmas present to ourselves.

one of my favorite wintertime travel destinations is jasper sure i don't like too much snow for driving but traveling during the day is better, Love Best Western just stayed at the one by the vancouver airport and really love the service bus shuttle that is outstanding.

We love to head down to Vancouver between Christmas and New Year's to visit our daughter and her husband! Otherwise, Kelowna is the place to be!

Colorado

I love to head south in the middle of winter to get a break from the snow and ice - a weekend on the beach does wonders for those winter blues!

We stay close to home or we go to our winter cabin, love snow storms and crackling fire in the stove :)

I love Florida. Anywhere along the gulf coast is my favoirte place to go. I have been going there since I was very young. I absolutely adore Treasure Island and have already booked my stay at the Best Western there for March of 2013. Did it before I left this past March!! Best vacation experience with any motel or hotel I have ever had!! It's the Best Western right on the beach and It is absolutely beautiful with amazing staff!!

HOME! While it is usually cold and snowy in Buffalo I want to be anywhere else for the holidays! I love being with my family and friends!

My favorite Winter destination is Idyllwild California. Only a two hour drive from our home in Santee, Ca. it truly takes us to a wonder wonderland. Snow covered mountains with it's winter temperatures, makes sitting by the fire a real treat. The quint town takes us far away from the hustle of the big city. Just a wonderful place to spend some great, quality family time together.

Florida is a favorite place to go to warm up from our cold climate here.

It would be Banff.

My favorite Winter destination is Banff/Lake Louise, Canada. Three hours drive from Edmonton, Alberta.

I love going to the mountains in North Carolina - especially Blowing Rock. It is so beautiful this time of year. One year, I will go skiing!! :)

For Christmas we always traveled to the Okanagan when I was a kid, now that I am an adult I hope to pass this tradition on to my kids one day. My favorite spot to go is definitely been up to Salmon Arm area. You get a mixture of mountains, lakes and some of the best wine you can imagine.

I love hitting up Banff in the winter. It's a good place to get in some snowboarding, and enjoy some great cuisine.

Whistler .. it's only 2.5hrs drive away from Vancouver.

I returned to my childhood town of Bedford, Pennsylvania last winter. We had such a wonderful time that it'll be a regular mission to return!

A new tradition that I want to start is to fly out during the holidays to meet up with that someone special and enjoy a peaceful, romantic time just watching the snow fall, surrounded by the warm glow of Christmas lights, and warmed by some hot chocolate, huddled under a blanket. It doesn't get any better than that.

We usually stay home. The farthest we like to go for the winter holidays is to the movies. We like staying home and playing games rather than getting out in the cold.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore, NC.

My favorite wintertime location tradition to travel to is Diamond Lake by Crater Lake in Oregon. Not too far from home about a 2 hour drive in the winter. We stay in a cozy cabin with our dogs and children. During the day we go sledding, snowmobiling and ice skating on the frozen lake. There is a restaurant and lodge with a big fireplace to sit and warm up and have a drink.

We love to go to downtown Chicago to see the lights and decorated store windows, also the Festival of Lights is fantastic!

My favorite destination in the Wintertime, is to family and friends. We love playing games and visiting. Christmas time is great fun.

My friends and I travel to Hocking Hills, OH ( we live 3 hrs away) in January for the annual Winter Hike. 6 miles through a beautiful winter wonderland with hot bean soup and hot chocolate in the middle of the hike made by the local Lions Club. Great fun no matter what type of weather.

Campbell River, BC: skiing nearby if you want winter wonderland but also the ocean and the forests to recharge through nature.

A new one for us now (3rd year) is for me to save all my BW reward points from business travel all year and use them to stay in Idaho over Christmas. Our daughter and beautiful grand baby live there. BW rewards are the only way we can afford to go. So BW has become part of our tradition...Thanks BW!

I'm a bit of a homebody in the winter, so my favourite winter travel destination is my mom's acreage in rural Saskatchewan. The snow covering the fields is so picturesque and whether we're riding horses down winter trails or sitting around the big country table with a cup of hot chocolate, it's always such a fun and relaxing time.

We love to travel to Old Montreal, Quebec it`s so beautiful and historic. We love staying in the Ice Hotel so cool ! Best place to visit during the holidays.

We travel each year 100 miles to Branson, MO. to shop and see the lights, and of course the restaurants too. :-)

In one of our National Parks....Yosemite Nat'l Park in California is just amazing in the wintertime. Snow covered peaks, camp fires, walks on multitude of trails, viewing the amazing mountain tops and love love love the smell of damp pine trees. Wildlife in the snow looking for that bit of greenery to nibble on.....solitude in the pines. Would love the gift card to use in an upcoming trip to Seattle at the BW Pioneer Square Hotel!

I live in Western New York. We are in the snow belt area. Lake Ontario always bless us with lots of snow. There are lots of activities close by and within short driving distance. One of my favorite things to do when the kids were little was to go sled riding at the local golf course. Now that I am older, I dream of going somewhere warm. This year I will!!! We have planned a trip to Fort Lauderdale and a cruise to the Bahamas!!!

In PR we used to get together as a family in my grandmas house, share presents, food and stories. now, every winter Christmas and other holiday i have to work, its not a tradition but part of my job as i work in a theme park, so this winter i want it to be different and travel to NY for the first time to have the best time of my life! :)

Typically we try to go back to our hometown for Christmas each year being an Army family if we have the money. Otherwise, wherever we are living, we try to get together with friends.

I don't really like traveling during winter time with all the snow on the road. If we do travel, we drive since it is cheaper, but this year with a child on the way we'll not be going far from home.

I remember being happy that I could drive with the window down in January. I live in WA state and visiting Dad was like entering a time warp...a place warp, if you will. It took a day to drive there but the end result was heaven. Time with Dad at the ranch. There you were out in the country with time to walk around the property..acres and acres of land..

It wasn't Dad's place; he was a caretaker. The last few years I made the trip 3 or 4 times a year as he was very ill and I tried to spend as much time with him as I could. Last year he died two days after Christmas. I won't be going to that ranch any more. But it will always be my favorite destination, winter or otherwise.

My favorite place in winter is the Banff Alberta with all the snow and the awesome skiing. Being in the mountains in the wintertime especially at Christmas is a great feeling.

By far Lake Tahoe (The Nevada side)! A winter vacation smoothie of awesome. 1 Part powder snow almost every season. 2 Parts breath-taking-life-reaffirming-eye-popping natural beauty and landscape expanses, and 1 part cozy warm mountain lodge escape atmosphere in the local best westerns. Duh, no brainer!

The best place ever to be in winter is Las Vegas Nevada. There is soooo much more to Vegas than gambling. The people, the shows, the lights, the zoo and best weather makes going there a wonderful experience.

Although heading South might be ideal for a little warmth, our family heads Noth to MA where my parents live. With Dec 25th also bring my dad's birthday and this year he's turning 70 years young (he's only sorry he has to put the Harley away for the Wnter), being in their cozy little cape with New England winds blowing all around is EXACTLY where we need to be. The finances may not always be there, but family is so off we go :-)

Ahh. Some love winter here in Montreal with all its accessible skiing mountains nearby. However, not being a winter person, I long for long road trips with my spouse and five loving daughters to warmer places along the coasts. Where fresh the ocean breeze and the warm sunny rays accompany us.

I stop in Fort Lauderdale for a few days before or after a cruise. I love the break from the cold winters just for a week or so. Soak up some sun and do a bit of shopping.

I recently retired, and my favorite winter getaway is to get away from winter! For the last two winters my husband and I have rented a condo in Florida. While we are there we love to visit different areas and explore. I want to visit the Florida Keys and the Tampa Bay regions of the state. I hope I win the travel card!!

I know it's a little cliche but the best winter spot is Las vegas, Nevada. It's a lot of entertainment and fun. There is just so much to do in Vegas without even gambling. The weather is just right, it's not to cold or hot. It's just a beautiful place.

We love to visit Lake Placid, NY, during the winter months. The surrounding Adirondak Mountains are so pristine - you can smell the freshness in the air!

My family is headed to beautiful Ruidoso, New Mexico. We will have a little cabin in the woods for a nice little holiday. Skiing and some hot chocolate sounds really good for a white Christmas.

If we head south it's Cancun Mexico, where the Mexican people, especially the Maya, enjoy the Holidays to the fullest, and exude an aurua of Happiness!

My partner and I enjoy going to the Casino in Lawton Oklahoma. We always stay at the Best Western there. The rooms are clean and comfortable as well as the great breakfast. It is in the same parking lot as the Casino. Would recommend it to everyone.

Right here in Colorado - Winter Park is the perfect ski / snowboard destination. And dog sled rides nearby in Fraser are a unique treat. Tubing hills also lots of fun. Plenty of hot food and warm drinks to be had afterwards at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs on the way back home.

We stay home as a family during Christmas but the next several weeks after the New Year we head to the North Carolina Mountains. With 6 different ski/snowboard resorts and 1 resort for just snow tubing. Great fun for the family and good way to burn off those extra pounds gained during the holidays. The Best Western is right in the middle of all the resorts.

Florence is a nice city for wintertime. yyyou can fined the art center in italy.and eat some good foods. also iitalian people's body language....

My favourite winter destination would be Victoria, British Columbia which is Canada's version of Hawaii. Winters are mild--40s to low 60s. It seems to rain every other day. My mum winters there for several weeks in January and February. Some of my relatives have settled there permanently. I have considered moving to Victoria when I retire in about 15 years, but would rather live in Paris or London.

I have always loved to visit McCall Idaho in the winter time! Every year they have a snow sculpture contest and the creations are amazing. I remember when I was little seeing a life size SpongeBob house made of snow only! They also have tons of great winter activities it's such a great small town feel with so much to do. Definitely worth the drive because it's so beautiful!

One of our favorite places we love to visit in the winter is Columbus, Ohio. Our son plays hockey there with the Ohio State Buckeyes. We love the game and enjoy watching and being with him at a least busy time in our lives. We have met many people there from all over the United States and Canada. Fun time!

Winter Park, CO is a favorite. Skied there in college and stayed in condo with friends. Good times!

There is nothing like the holidays in Stowe Vermont. And yes the hills are still alive with the sound of music! The skiing on Mt Mansfield is some of the most challenging in the world. Beautiful village with warm contry hospitality.

Our favorite winter travel destination is not a specific place. We like to explore new places and things by finding a place we can hike and or shop during the day and enjoy Christmas lights and a great dinner in the evening.

Our favorite trip is to Ouray Best Western after Christmas. We've been every year now for the past 3 years. (and plan to again this year) They have a natural hot spring, both indoor and out. And the very best part is that they have an entire hot tub pool! Yes, the entire pool is HOT! My 11 yr old LOVES it and so do we! Plus the staff there is super nice, and the views cannot be beat.

We love Las Vegas. There is always something to do. We live in northern Alberta so when we leave and it is -30 we really enjoy the + 18 to 20 s.

We have lived in Tucson, AZ for the past 4 years. Prior to that we lived in Chicago where the winters were just awful. Now, if we want to experience a little snow in the winter we can just drive up to northern AZ. Last year we went to the Grand Canyon in December. It was actually a great time to go. We got to see snow on the canyon and it was much less crowded. When we go up that way we stay at least one night in Williams (at Best Western!) and go to Bearizona, the coolest place on the earth! Next year, we will most likely take my son on the Polar Express train, too. He is getting ready to turn 3 next week and right now he is really into that movie. Unfortunately, it is pretty much booked up for this year.

My favorite destination for the holidays is HOME! Time to spend with family is true gift.

We go to Chicago for holiday shopping. Best of all the Best Western River North is located in a great location for all our stops and is a great value.

South Lake Tahoe, in Nevada is one of my favorite winter destinations. It is close to where we live, in Carson City, Nevada, so is a very convenient hop over for us. SLT has the advantage of being on the border of California and Nevada, so there is the entertainment value of the Casinos, with not only gambling, but excellent entertainment. On the California side, there are abundant shops for shopping or for viewing the art galleries, and the lift to the slopes is right there, also. The pines make an excellent backdrop when snow is present, as does the lake, the gem of the region. Also, Reno and Carson City are only 45 minutes away, for a wide variety of shopping and entertainment options. All in all, a very enjoyable place to go to.

Our favourite family destination at christmas school break. Due to the fact we do not have much time we love to go to Minneapolis and stay in a Best Western and go t the mall and shop and play. We always find a hotel with a clean pool and lots to do for my teenage kids, which is not easy to do now days, WE spend a day at the Mall of america. Bust most of our time is in the hotel. Our hotel we stay in has a balcony for my husband and i to watch the kids and a patio area for my daughter to be on the computer because you have free wi fi. It is a short break a way from home, but it feels like we have had a holiday in style.

My favorite place to go in the winter is the Best Western Merry Manor in South Portland, Maine. My entire family has a wonderful time there. We especially like it in the winter because of the outdoor heated pool. It is so cool to go swimming outside when it is freezing out!! Such wonderful memories there!

I like to travel to the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. Fall and Winter is a good time to go because there are fewer tourists and the rates for lodging are seasonally down.

Any place warm and sunny Hawaii sounds like a great destination!!!

Frankenmuth Michigan is our winter time holiday wonderland. Shopping, Tradition, and Holiday Fun wrapped up in one small town.

We love to head down Vermont for winter skiing. It's makes wonderful winter vacation for kids.

We love the North East US for Christmas. The crisp winter air and white snow are so welcoming and remind my family of the festive holiday. And, the winter sports and activities are something we enjoy and look forward to all year. There is nothing like snowmobiling the New York Trails or skiing in Vermont. We enjoy it all!

I like to travel to the San Juan Islands during the fall and winter season because there are fewer tourists and the rates are lower.

I have the snow and cold at home so I'm always longing for the warm sun during the winter months. Love the Floriday beaches. St. Petersburg and Ft. Meyer are a few favorites. Nothing beats getting up before the sun to look for shells and then watching the sun rise! Don't forget the tide, lol. Learned that one the hard way :)

Being that Ali and I just got married to each other a short, short 15 months ago we cherish our 4 to 7 day getaways. Having a combo of 5 kids from previous marriages causes chaos from the children's wants and needs. We occasionally need alone time to regroup and bring us back to sanity. For Ali's 50th birthday we took a 17 day road trip that covered 12 states from NY to Tennessee. Upon that trip we spent several nights at 5 Star rated hotels including the Gaylord Opryland in Tennessee which was quite pricey at $450 per night. From there we ended up at a Best Western located on Twin Island Gatlinburg Tennessee. Those 3 nights at Twin Island was the highlight of our trip. The Smokies left us breathless and we are looking into purchasing a home in Gatlinburg. Later this upcoming spring we are planning on returning to Twin Island Gatlinburg for a 7 to 10 day stay. That was the most relaxing hotel we've ever stood at and can't wait to return. I Highly recommend that any travelers that pass through Tennessee stay a couple of nights at this hotel which has a relaxing river that is just below the terrace of the room. It's walking distance to everything that this wonderful town offers. You won't be disappointed...

I love Fort Lauderdale in Feb. or March getting away from the Midwest cold and snow. Walking along the beach and sunning by the pool is very relaxing!

The Enchanted Circle in New Mexico. Beautiful scenery, good skiing and a really laid back pace.

Our favorite winter retreat is to go to our lake house in East Texas and enjoy the quiet away from the daily business.

My favorite Winter travel destination, is the Rockies, travel to Banff spend some time in the Town and ski the mountains. There is nothing like the experience of the colored lights the holiday atmosphere and the people buzzing. You head out in the morning for a day of skiing, then return for a nice relaxing hot tub soak, and walk around the town and dinner. It is amazing how well you sleep at night. Awesome!!

Hanalei Bay, Kauai is the most relaxing, beautiful beach in the world! Great escape from Seattle weather, and not just in winter!

Every Feburary we travel to Collinsville, Il to attend the Woodworking Show. It gives us a weekend out and a chance for me to learn about new products.

My favourite winter destination is Los Angeles for its sunny weather, fantastic ocean, lots of places to go, shopping .... and, of course, Best Wester, where we stay with my daughter when we go there))) And this winter we are planning to spend 2 weeks in Best Western Long Beach & 2 weeks in Best Western Carriage Inn in Van Nuys)))

I love to stay home so I can be close to my daughters and their families. We spend alot of time during the Christmas break hanging out together, whether it be baking marathons, going to the movies, doing crafts with the grandkids, and taking food and clothes to the homeless.

We are starting a transition this year & renting a cabin in lake arrow head California with my husbands family. We live in Florida and love to travel with our two kids.

I love the Holidays. We travel to see our children in New Mexico and Colorado. We have the most wonderful time. We ride The Polar Express to Sants's Village with our grandchildren and children. We receive hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.The children receive Santa bells. My husband and I have received bells too. What a wonderful time it is being with family to celebrate the birth of Christ.

When I travel home for the holidays all of my childhood memories travel with me and best of all I get to experience them again through the eyes of my neices and nephews. Our favorite Wintertime destination is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with beautiful views of the mountains in Tennessee and North Carolina. It has all the outdoor and indoor activities you want, from sking to park trails and Pigeon Forge, TN shops and shows to a casino in Cherokee, NC.

After our engagement Ken and I headed for Saranac lake for our birthdays! We chose the Best Western there and had one of the best weekends of our relationship! We even saved the room number so we can ask for that room whenever we stay at a Best Western! We attended a local concert the first evening,enjoyed the wonderful pool in the am, went hiking and horseback riding, had an early dinner the next day and then back to our comfy room for an enjoyable nights rest! We generally stay home or travel locally to family's homes in winter. But my favorite winter travel was when I was a child our family along with extended family would rent a cabin in Gatlinburg, Tn for the week between Christmas and New Years. Some of my best travel memories. Second favorite winter travel would be Sedona, Az in the winter months.

My favorite destination in Winter is North Beach Plantation in North Myrtle Beach,SC It is a fantastic high-rise condo right on the beach with indoor lazy river, heated swimming pool , and hot tub, as well as several outside hot tubs if the weather is good. In addition you can walk the beach without interruption, the restaurants and shops are glad to have customers,and there's no lines,and the shows are still going ,but usually with special prices,and better seating options.

We're booked for the 3rd year in a row at the Best Western Royal Oak Inn in Barrie Ontario. they have 2 bedroom family suites at great prices for my family of 4 and we're bring another family with us this year. Only a 10 min drive to Snow Valley after a great breakfast at the hotel....my kids love making their own waffles!
And when we're done on the hills we retreat to the hotel and enjoy the pool and the hot tub. We offered the kids to go somewhere else this year but they refused. Snow Valley and the Royal Oaks is where you will find us at least once a year.

Over the past few years, my wife and I enjoy traveling during the Christmas Holidays to my sister and brother in law to Florida. We like the arrangements Best Western has to offer for our overnight stop during our two day trip both going down and coming back home in Ohio. Zermatt Switzerland where the Matterhorn Peak is. It's a beautiful ski village with a lot of outdoor activities and amazing shopping! The best part about it is there are no vehicles allowed! Everyone walks around the village. It's so beautiful and serene.

Alma, Colorado, on the other side of the mountain from Breckenridge. My Dad had a cabin (more like a chalet) here, and it was wonderful during the winter to go up and spend time there. It was clear and quiet, and it was truly a postcard winter wonderland image after a good snow fall.

Our best vacation destination over the Christmas holiday has been to Florida. We go to the theme parks and the kids love it. They don't even care so much about presents. The weather is lovely and because you don't have to worry about all the holiday hoopla, it is relaxing!

We travel south in the winter to Florida and the Caribbean. We stay at different Best Western hotels near the ports a few days ahead and a few days after the cruise so we can enjoy the Florida sun!

Cross Country Skiing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After a big snowfall it is great to be the first one on the trails. The combination of the green pine trees and the white snow blanketing them is a beautiful contrast. As you break the trail and your skiis knife through the virgin snow there is a calm beauty to it all. You can't describe the feeling you get when you stop in the middle of the woods and hear the deafening quiet that comes with having the forest all to yourself.

My favorite winter trip is to Blakeslee Pa. Every March I take my son on a weekend trip to play paintball. The hotel is beautiful and the location is really close to where we need to be. I am looking forward again to this year. We have so much fun. :)

I am not much of a winter person, so travelling to some place warm is my ideal destination. Florida is a nice location in winter compared to the Ontario the winters we get.

Our best winter destination so far is Port St. Lucie, Florida we like the hotel and location and employes close to the Ocean and other things to do.

My husband and I love to go away for the winter. We travel into Ajjic Mexico every year and just adventure around Mexico for the winter. We have seen so many places and have yet to see more. It is a wonderful country and we love every nook and cranny about it.

We like to visit Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. We head down there right after Christmas. Sit in a nice bar with a cool drink and watch the boats go up and down the intercoastal; lay on the beach and swim in the ocean and of course golf. That is the life!

We love to take a break for a couple months in the winter and travel down to California, Arizona and new Mexico--it breaks up the winter.

I have never travelled anywhere outside of Ontario. I love to just take my dog walking through the parks in Guelph in winter. It is so much fun to watch him play in the snow

I'm still convinced that the best way is to travel to the opposing hemisphere. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, then travel to see the Victoria Falls, swim on Cape Town's beautiful beaches or drive Australia's Great Ocean Highway. As a youth I never experienced a cold Christmas, and I loved it. In fact, if you use that time to travel to Oz, you'll even get the experience of losing a day by crossing the International Dateline. It was weird leaving the United States on December 23rd and traveling to Fiji where we landed to the pageant of (large) Fijian men dressed in Santa hats playing Christmas carols on ukeleles. You've got to try it! Winter will never be the same for you.

My favorite winter destination has to be Tokyo Japan! If you go at the right time you get to see a beautiful snow. The way the snow settles on the Tokyo tower in the winter time is enough to take any sight seeiers breath away. Not to mention the majestic way Tokyo Disneyland looks with real snow, perfect for any family!

Would like to be able to take my husband home to wyoming he has not been home in 19 years for christmas we live in South carolina and between his job we just cant afford it our son let in Novemeber for bootcamp at parris island and we are going to his graduation in Feb 1 2013 and hopefully my husband mom and dad will get to be there and that is what we would used the gift card for to be able to go see our son gradudate Marine boot camp at parris island , we are having our christmas in Feb when our son is home . we are going to try to stay at the Best western plus inn

My favorite place to go and stay during winter is Venice, Fl.. Nice warm weater and nice sandy beaches and looking for sharks teeth. Alway have enjoyed there and will again this coming winter.

We like to stay close to home and may even venture up north to Portage, WI or Ladysmith, WI to visit with extended family. Occasionally we will plan a trip to Mexico or somewhere warm. My favorite holiday memory was when we stayed at the Best Western in Ladysmith for Christmas and all the family was together. My Dad is the oldest of 15 kids so it was a huge gathering and everyone was home for the holidays.

Our family loves to snowboard so we try to get to Whistler for a weekend in January. Now with Family Day coming to BC in 2013, we may get another chance to get up there and enjoy the snow!

We usually are at home during the winter. Here in the mid-west you never know if you can get back in if you leave. We have, however, gone to the southwest a couple of times, for work. San Antonio was a great trip. The Riverwalk with all the twinkling lights for Christmas, the luminarias and the surrounding light festivals was truly sights to behold. We went up to Austin for some additional fun during that trip. Our next trip was to Albuquerque. It was so much fun! Two dummies from the midwest had no idea that there would be tons of snow up in the mountains in the southwest. From there we went to Santa Fe...the Las Posadas and Portal of the Palace of the Governors was so great! We were able to complete our Christmas shopping there. The Southwest provided a much needed respite from the cold up north.

Veronica and I love to spend three weeks in Mexico (usually Mazatlan) before christmas then come home to Sechelt and try to get to the kids for christmas.

During the holiday seasons, I love Las Vegas and disney world for their beautiful lights and decorations and enthusiasm. The weather is enjoyable and a break from the snow and ice but not too hot and both locations have plenty of activities for all ages. You never have the same trip twice and that's always exciting....and it always leaves us wanting more!

I have never been anywhere in the winter time because truthfully finances just don't allow it yet, but when it does I have promised my son we are going to Disney. Unfortunately he is now fourteen so I am not sure if he still want to go but your never to old for Disney right. My favorite destination is going to be Disney, because it will be a promise finally fulfilled.

Steamboat Springs, CO!! We are lucky enough to call Steamboat home. It's a real town with a ski mountain! The snow is called Champagne Powder for a reason - it's like skiing in a cloud.

North Carolina is the winter destination of my choice. I visited there every yr for 11 yrs, to visit my grandaughter. I am from Oklahoma, and had to work sometimes 3 jobs to be able to afford to visit and have a few days of fun, making memories to last a lifetime, so she would not forget me. I havent been to see her for 6 yrs, losing contact for awhile, then we found each other on facebook...and I hope to attend her graduation in June of this year, she is now 17 and a very beautful half Panamanian and Creek, Seminole, and Otoe Indian. She speaks fluent Spanish, and I was not even able to converse with her until she turned about 4 and a half yrs old. She is the light of my life....Hope I win, so I can make more memories...a loving grandmother...

My favorite vacation destination during wintertime is Tahoe in CA. It is so much fun to go with bunch of friends.Snowy roads, road closures and being stuck for hours is something that we have fun with.

Reaching Tahoe is an adventure but once you are there the fun begins.

We love to go skiing at Keystone, Colorado, for Christmas. The decorations along with all the snow is beautiful!. To be standing on Christmas Eve on top of the mountain looking down at the twinkly lights of the small towns below just as the sun is dropping from the sky changing it to all the purples, blues, and pinks is a wondrous sight!

My favorite winter trips have been spending time in Park City, UT skiing and visiting the Kimball Art Center. I love walking up Main Street and dropping in various locally owned shops and eateries and skating at the Park City Resort.

I spent 2 days and Best Western in Hillside, Illinois and when I entered the room, had to call a plumber because the sink was stopped up. For me this meant getting dressed to go downstairs because no one answered the phone.

The next morning I asked for a wake up call, but didn't get it. Also on that day the water was shut off, at least from 1:30 pm until 6pm. Could not flush the toilet, had to delay dinner until water came on to ensure I could wash my hands afterwards. The hotel was not gracious enough to offer any compensation for the inconvenience.

i would like to go to Japan Walt Disney. i'been to Hongkong Walt Disney already and also wish to go to France Walt Disney Park .We always spend Christmass time or New Years day at Orlando Disney World. Its nice and fun to spend winter holidays on this Park specially with the grand kids.

My favorite winter travel destination is Southern California. We drive to the Palm Springs area in January and stay there 3 months. It is wonderful to be able to play golf, shop, eat out, etc. in the 70 - 80 degree weather rather than the rainy or snowy weather in Oregon.

In the Wintertime, we stay close to home and go out sailing to say Hello to the visiting humpback whales. As we sit up in bed, we can watch them swimming past Diamond Head just off Waikiki Beach!

My wife loves to spend winter holidays at Walt Disney World, not only its affordable but its close to us its only 3 hours away from home. So its really fun and enjoyable with the grand kids..We are Disney World pass holder so we can go any time of the year.

Since my husband and I were married on the day after Christmas, Dec. 26, and we honeymooned in Pigeon Forge, TN, that is our usual destination for winter. However, last year when I retired, we headed south to Orlando, Florida and enjoyed Disney World and the warm temperatures (70's). We are both retired and love to travel to different destinations, but I guess our favorite will always be Pigeon Forge. The Christmas lights and activities there are wonderful and not so expensive.

My favorite winter is in New Mexico - get out of the LA basin smog and traffic, and it's all good...Santa Fe, Ruidoso, Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Taos are all favs. But I would love to spend a winter vacation in Telluride or Ouray, in fact, Ouray's Best Western has some AWESOME hot springs! I could check out the ice climbing competitions!

In years past we have stayed home for the holidays because we were caring for ailing family members. This year we are starting something new in memory of the loved ones we lost this year. We are having a family movie night and a fancy dinner out. There will be 12 of us this year. All of us are excited to start new traditions.

We often drive to Ruidoso N.M. It's the closest place for us to go to enjoy the mountains. Nice shops,cabins and restaurants. Scenic day trips in all directions.

Have always been with my family doing many different things and going to a casino. I reacently moved to another state a thousand miles away. Due to finances, I am unable to go this year. Hopefully next year it can begin again.

Best place for a winter vacation is Ocean City, MD. Nice and quiet and restful after or before all the Christmas hustle. Walk the boardwalk (watch them WORK on the boardwalk), ride the tram to view the Christmas lights, have afternoon tea and live piano music in the lobby of our favorite hotel at the end of the boardwalk, shop the outlet stores for bargains, check out the conference center for current events, and, of course, eat at the great restaurants.

My favorite winter destination is Saint Paul, MN around Christmas time & Thanksgiving because that is where family is. There is also huge number of family birthdays during those 2 months.

I LOVE Juneau, Alaska in the Winter! Gallery Walk when the shops all stay open downtown and serve refreshments and good cheer! Snow on the roads, clouds hanging low on the mountains, and the way Christmas lights look on trees covered with snow. My cousin Kurt burns the Glogg, we cheer and sing Tog a non-non....

My wife and I love to travel year round and enjoy all four seasons in the trip! Winter is an amazing time to travel to enjoy the different sights and lit up holiday in different towns. We enjoy traveling near and far. Sometimes we travel just to get away and we know our destinations, other times we go for a ride to enjoy the view and take advantage of where we end up. It doesn't have to be expensive, as long as were together, were enjoying the view and quality time together!

Being an Army veteran, home was where ever we were at the time. I loved Christmas in Ohio, Tennessee, Illinois, Germany, and Korea; not so much Iraq. I like to travel to where my kids are. They are grown and sometimes they come home for Christmas, and other times, we travel to see them. The location is never as important as the time spent with family.

favorite destination for winter is Disneyland....the warmer climate is a break from beautiful snowy Colorado home. The decorations are totally worth the drive. Our family still choices it as our annual family trip with young adults ages 22,20 and 18!!

We like to travel outside Canada to visit our family if it is possible, if not, we stay together as a family here in Canada and enjoy the beauty of this Country.

Our favorite place to go in the winter is Mesa Arizona just for a couple of weeks to enjoy some winter warmth and spend time with good friends. Otherwise we enjoy spending time at lakes in northern Saskatchewan snowmobiling , ice fishing, snow shoeing, and cross country skiing.

Since I live in the warmer climate of California, my favorite WInter activity is to spend time in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Snow still facinates me since I grew up in San Francisco. Skiing, snow boarding, snow shoeing, snow mobile riding, and the apres-ski events are the best way to spend a Winter holiday!

Love going to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo with my entire family. Some of our favorite memories are of the lights and music and laughter! We go every year.

We always stay home, build a fire and Dream of faraway places. Everyone gets 5 minutes to share their dream spot. This way we
all get to virtually travel many places in one night. Afterwards, we vote on one to take as a real vacation next year. This makes everyone do some research on their dream spot.

I have never been anywhere for winter holiday, I have always wanted to see Tennessee mountains in the winter and to see the small towns all decorated for the Holidays. I would love to see snow for the first time with my 2 girls who have also never seen snow.

Since we live in Southern California, we like to take winter vacations where the weather is a little more cold. We like to visit family in either North Carolina or Wisconsin.

We love going to Sunriver, Oregon or we also love to stay at the Best Western up on Mt. Hood but can't afford that as often as we'd like. Both are usually in the snow this time of year, my hubby loves to ski, my son loves to snowboard and I usually hang out in the snow playing and building things with our 4.5 yr old granddaughter who's always up for anything snow related! My favourite place to holiday is the Canadian Rockies during the christmas season. The family has made a few trips there and the one I enjoyed was when
we went to Kananaskis for the christmas week. We went cross country skiing, downhill skiing, tubing and the younger generation went snow boarding, everyone went toboganned (the little kids loved it and so did the big kids), we went on dog sled rides, skated, hiked and during all that time ate extremely well in our rooms and at various restaurants in the vicinity. Christmas eve day was when everyone was arriving and we all met at a restaurant in the hotel and a harpoonist was playing various carols. She invited my nephew and niece, they were about 10, to sing along with her. They got a standing ovation, very touching. A choir walked and sang throughout the hotel and stopped at the restaurant and sang a couple of carols for us. We ended each day at a spot to enjoy a cocktail and watch on TV the Canadian Junior hockey team play for the world cup and watched the wolves come up to the window of the hotel and snoop around for whatever was interesting to them. It was one of the my most memorable christmas holidays.

We like to travel to some place warm in the winter after the holidays. This year we are retiring around Jan 1, so I think we'll just get in the car and drive south until we hit warm weather and sunshine. As long as there is a good restaurant, we'll find sites to see and places to enjoy!

Our family heads to Mt. Shasta in CA for the our Christmas tree hunting adventures every year! It is always a blast for everyone involved. We pack lunch and thermoses of hot chocolate. Mt. Shasta is beautiful and the other families we run into are always friendly.

We usually stay home for the holidays but when we do travel in winter, our favorite place is Best Western Cavalier Oceanfront Resort in San Simeon, CA. You really can't go wrong staying there anytime, however, we prefer the peacefulness of the winter along the beautiful central California coast. Watching the sun set nightly from our oceanview room, sitting on our balcony enjoying the ocean breeze and sight of surfers, kite surfers, fishermen, egrets, and the like, room service, two heated swimming pools, firepits lit at night on the bluff, and a fun beach to stroll make this a one-of-a-kind place. Oh, yeah, I'm almost forgetting the best part: they take dogs! We travel with our Border Collie and this place puts us within striking distance of some really great scenic walks. Love, LOVE, L-O-V-E this place!

My favorite vacation for winter was a trip to Washington DC with my husband and our three children back in 1989. This was my first time there my husband spent some of his childhood there. You just have no idea how much there is so see and do there our children were very young 2,4, and 7 and even they enjoyed it something for every age there. I have always said I would like to go back maybe someday. But I have the best memories of that trip.

Living in ColoradoI I enjoy snowmobiling or snow shoeing into my cabin in the north central part of the state. It is pristine with the beautiful scenery, wildlife and cold, cold temperatures, and gazing at the vistas of stars in the nighttime sky.

I love Panorama Mountain Village near Invermere, BC. The snow is great, the people are great, and the mountain is awesome.

I'm a city guy at heart! So my favorite spots are New York, Chicago and Paris (not necessarily in that order!), sitting in a cozy cocktail lounge, with a warm drink, and watching the snow falling in the street outside.

My family enjoys sunny cold Arizona weather; however, when we want snow we travel an hour to Mount Lemmon. When we are looking for a road-trip we travel 4 hours to snow in Flagstaff and shopping in Sedona.

Arizona is a wonderful place to live during the winter season, no matter what sort of weather you're looking for - sun or snow.

I like Florida for vacation and winter home it is mostly sunny and nice all winter and there is lots to do, we stay young because we do lots of activities!

During the Winter months I get away from the cold and snow by taking one week a month to drive to North Carolina where I play golf. I cut the 1000 mile trip in half by staying at the Lee Jackson Best Western on the way down.

We like to take a day trip to Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park. The snow is beautiful up there and always a fun day.

We go to a Broadway show on New Year's Eve. There is an excitment in the crowd; there is an extra excitement in the audience. Then, we go home and watch the Ball drop in the place where we were just at!

CHRISTMAS WEEK IS CELEBRATED IN ORLANDO AT WALT DISNEY WORLD. MY DAUGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES JOIN US IN A TIMESHARE AND WE ENJOY THE WARM WEATHER, POOL, AND ALL THE SIGHTS AROUND THE AREA. THE FOLLOWING DAY WE TAKE THE GRANDCHILDREN TO THE THEME PARK. WE MY RIDE THE MONORAIL OR SAIL ON THE STEAMSHIP TO FANTASY ISLAND. THEN WE SPEND HOURS ENJOYING THE RIDES, PIGGING OUT ON THE GREAT FOOD AND TAKING PICTURES. WE USUALLY JUMP ON THE MONORAIL AND RIDE OVER TO ANOTHER PARK AREA OR TWO. THIS WAY WE CAN SEE AS MUCH AS WE CAN IN CASE OF RAIN. DISNEY DOES EVERYTHING TO PERFECTION. EVEN THE SHOES ON CINDERELLA IN THE PARADE ARE CUSTOM MADE. EVERY PERSON IN THE CROWD SPEAKS A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE AND HAS A DIFFERENT CULTURE. NO WONDER 'IT'S A SMALL WORLD' IS SUCH A POPULAR RIDE. OUR FAVORITE RIDE IS 'SOARING' UP IN THE CLOUDS. SO MANY FEATURES ARE UNFORGETABLE. THE ROBOTS WHO PORTRAY THE PRESIDENTS ARE GREAT BUT SO IS THE HAUNTED HOUSE.

Every Christmas vacation, I take a road trip (from Texas) to California, to visit my family. Last year my husband and youngest kids came with me, and this year it will be my oldest daughter and I. We usually take the South route one way and Route 66 the other way. I love all the snow and beautiful scenery when we pass through Flagstaff, AZ! I have family and friends in San Dimas CA, and then we go to Ojai/Ventura CA to visit my mom, who is 96 now. We always stay at the Best Western Ventura Inn. My favorite place to stay!!! Just across the bridge from the beach and pier, but the rates are extremely affordable for a place that close to the beach! Great customer service, great food, and I love that they have computers in the lobby that the customers can use 24 hours a day. And they always have fresh baked cookies for you, when you check in! =)

Counting the days until we leave for California this year. Hitting the road on Christmas day. And, as always, we'll be looking for that Best Western sign when it's time to pull over and catch some zzzzzz's.....

My wife and Im love to go to Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo for at least a week. The weather is nice and warm, the accommodations are great, the food is good and the local folks are wonderful. It is a great winter time destination.

I would love to play winter sports during this season. Blue mountains is the place i visit more often. Montreal, Quebec city(Hotel De glace) is the favorite spots we like to go every year.

I love going to McCall Id. It has two great mountains really close so I can choose the best snow for my boarding needs. Great little tourist town for shopping and an all around great atmosphere so I can relax.

We usually stay home for the hoidays because my husband works with our local law enforcment agency and can't take time off. He recently gave this job up to spend more time with the family. He is now preparing to be a teacher and coach. We are looking forward to travel more and spend quality time with our kids before they are all grown up!!! We enjoy sneeking of to the coast!!!

Oh, beautiful, blustering winter! NOT! Our tradition to visit family takes us through the deserts of the southwest as we adventure through nature's unique byways and highways. I grew up in the mountains of San Diego and now live in central Texas and don't realize how much I miss their distinct shapes until we hit west Texas and mountains begin to rise from the horizon. My heart dances with glee to see them. Our first stop for the night is always the Best Western on the west side of El Paso and when I wake up in the morning to the sight of the Franklin Mountains keeping watch over us I always grin silly. Then it's onward, into the sunset, more mountains, and what will always be home.

My favourite holiday is Arizona in the winter, especially Mesa and B est western Motel in Mesa. It is so comfy.

Two years ago we spent a little more than two months in Florida during the winter season. Since that was the last long trip my husband and I were able to make together before his death, I would say that Florida would be my destination of choice. We had such a good time camping in our RV, seeing the interesting sights, and visiting with family and friends. We had planned another trip there this year but were unable to do it because of his death in early November. I plan to return to Florida other years. I look forward to going back to many of the sights we enjoyed and visiting with family and friends still living there. Our winters here in Nevada are not too bad but the warm air of Florida is much more inviting at that time of year.

We live in a pretty wonderful place! Red Lodge, MT. Little ski town with no lift lines and great atmosphere! It is a great place to enjoy the winter with a small town feel! Kind of a well kept secret! We usually stay close to home around the holidays, traveling just seems so crazy! When I'm not staying home and enjoying all that Park City, Utah has to offer in the winter time (snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, tubing, etc), then I like to travel to Kauai and soak up some warm sunshine.

We live in Minnesota & this year we've decided to go to Redwing to do some shopping in their little shops & then we're heading to Stillwater to stay at a B&B. We love just traveling around MN because ther are so many places to see!

When the kids were little we took some amazing Winter trips; Park City Utah, Bend Oregon, San Francisco Cali, Ashville NC... we were all together. They are all grown now and live in Cali, Georgia and Florida. We must travel a lot now to see them. We all manage to get together for a family trip each summer. Our favorite spot(s) are Marathon, in the Keys and Singer Island in Palm Beach. We ALL work very hard so when we can vacation, we have the best time with our children AND grandchildren no matter where we are!!!

We spend the holidays mostly at home, but there have been times when we have traveled to Florida for the holidays. They were the best times of our life spent at Disney World. We would pack up the van with presents, tree & clothes and head south. It was a long time but it was worth it. Happy Holidays to all!

I've been skiing at Sugarloaf (Formerly Sugarloaf/USA) in Kingfield, Maine off and on since 1972 and that makes me a genuine Sugarloaf Irregular, a singular honour if there ever was one!! The mountain ambience is super friendly, the terrain is plenty challenging, and they usually have lots of snow so what's not to like?

My best time at Christmas was before my father past away as a teenager. We had lake property and my father would cut a tree down for Christmas. My father would put the Christmas tree up while it was snowing outside. Our Italian tradition was to eat Italian sausage late on Christmas Eve night. And my father would have a fire going in the fireplace on Christmas day. The was the best time of my life. This year I will be staying with my fathers best friends family. I'm starting a new tradition for Christmas by celebrating it in Arizona.

Canada Sun Peaks just east of Kamloops. Dry dry snow, sunny ski days and great accommodations right on the mountain near lifts. Great restaurants and quaint village make fore fantastic family times.

My favorite destination in the winter is New York City!! There is nothing like getting into the holiday spirit running around the city seeing all the beautiful scenery.. From horse drawn carriage rides to the wonderful window displays on 5th avenue and you definetly can't miss the Tree at Rockefeller Center and the people ice skating below. Of course my son would tell you the best thing about New York City is the big Toy's R Us. There really is something there for everyone.

The town is very small has lots of places to bed down and eat. The best place is at a State Park called Blue Spring. There the endangered Manatee flock to enjoy the warm Spring, with lots of family and friends !! Where in the world can you enjoy a great cabin, beautiful peaceful surroundings,
warm water and oh yes a chance to see a rare and endangered species, up close and personal. Orlando the home of Sea World and Disney, Universal
,are just a short thirty minute drive just incase you can't take the quiet..

There along the St. John's River you will get to enjoy the endangered Manate . Where in the world can you enjoy the great sunshine, warm water great fishing from the river, all and enjoy seeing an endangered species with his family and friends? Orlando, the home of Disney, Sea World, and Universal are only a thirty minute drive away.

Duluth MN. The clear air over the lake at night is priceless ... and landing in the Twin Cities, there is a great night at the Guthrie available each side of the trip.

My BEST vacation ever was spending my 50th birthday with my twin sister in Banff, Alberta. Spending our time browsing the shops, going to the Hot Springs for a dip and then an enchanted evening going out for dinner with the snow falling outside. Spectacular!!!

Kelowna BC is my home and choice for travel any time of year. The 4 seasons playground in the Okanagan offers all activities year round.

My favorite Christmas away from home was a trip the four of us took to Costa Rica which included beautiful scenery and amazing birds, animals, ocean swimming, many conversations, an incredible zip line park and river rafting. There was no snow or rain!!! A very nice change of pace from shopping malls, traffic and stress.

My mother is in a Care Facility in Greater Vancouver, BC. Although we travel up frequently during the year the most anticipated visit is over Christmas. We love the beautiful city of Vancouver and our stay at the Best Western Plus Coquitlam Convention Center is always a big "Plus". They make our arrival and stay very special. From Palm Springs to Vancouver's winter wonderland is an most wonderful winter get away.

We have long winters in BC so we like to explore somewhere warm to break it up a little. This year we are heading to Sedona, Arizona.

Winter vacation to the Caribbean Island of Saint Vincent - Bequia. It was the best vacation ever lovely white and black sand beaches, waking up to paradise every morning, friendly people. The sad part was that we had to come back to Philadelphia and to a blizzard. So my boyfriend and I planned another trip there but this time to a different part of the island called Buccament bay resort. They say when its nice you do it twice!!!

Our favorite winter destination would be Florida. It's a nice escape from the winter zone we live in. Whether it be walking the beach, enjoying Disneyworld, golfing, or just enjoying the sunshine, it's the best vacation for us.

Nothing like a snowy Pennsylvania Christmas, except for childhood Christmases in Iowa, or sharing festivities with our daughter's family near Portland, Maine, for a few years. Family is more important than location.

Walt Disney World, Florida-everything is always decorated for the holiday and the weather is wonderful!

Key West, for sure! Warm, funky, out of the way, good food, surprises, laid back, fun.

The Best Western Plus Oceanfront in Virginia Beach, VA is our family's favorite place to visit during the winter and especially during the holiday season. Lots to see right from the balcony of your room with the Holiday Lights at the Beach just outside on the boardwalk. You can see Twelve Drummers Drumming, Eleven Pipers Piping and Ten Lords a-leaping displays right from the balcony. It's a short drive to the Dominion Garden of Lights display at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, the Newport News Celebration in Lights display at the Newport News Park and Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg is less than an hour away. Last year we experienced "thunder snow" for the first time at the beach during our stay in February. Watching the waves break on the snow covered sandy beach was a treat.

Joe DaBiero, the General Manager of the Best Western Plus Oceanfront in VA Beach, is a first class operator. His staff is always friendly and guest oriented. The breakfast (included) is excellent and Sandy makes you feel right at home. The indoor pool and fitness center, with an ocean view, are both bonuses at this property.

If you want to visit VA Beach in the winter this is the place to go. The BW's location is convenient to every thing our family needs or wants to do. If you like Holiday Lights, thunder snow, dolphins, sunrises on the Atlantic and the possibility of seeing a whale this might be right the place.

We hit the road around Christmas time to visit family and friends to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In the winter we like to go to Christina Lake BC as it's very quiet and has the most amazing snow to play in. The big cedar trees are all covered in snow and it's so tranquil.

We like to go to Orlando, Florida in the winter. We love the weather and being close to Disney World and MGM Studios. The rides are great and the best is The Tower of Terror at Disney, although The Kraken at Sea World is the scariest.

since all our kids are gone we (my wife and me ) travel to see them ,or go on our own little excapade to where ever we decide to go .

Love the Fraser Valley...always lots to see and do..close to Vancouver, Chwk, Harrison Hot Springs and Cultus Lake. Beautiful scenery..snow capped mountains and skiing, eagles and walking trails. Perfect for Family recreation in winter and every season throughout the year! A definite favourite!

My favorite memory of the holiday season is to visit my grandma. She made the best holiday cookies, and my favorite one was her Jam Thumbprint cookies. I wish I was old enough so I would have asked how to make those cookies. I miss her. She made my X-mas extra special.

We love a winter break in Costa Rica, When it's winter in the US it's the dry season there. Lot's of sunshine, beautiful rainforests and beaches, interesting wildlife, and friendly people. Volcanoes too!

We love to take a family vacation to Cancun, Mexico in January. Soak up the sun, snorkle, hike, atv's zipline visit ruins, and so much more to do.

We have found going to Arizona with it's warm weather is a nice change and there is so much to do in Arizona. Great to get away from the cold and wind and snow shoveling!

Our favorite winter break is the beach during Doheny Blues Festival. We live where it snows so the beach is our getaway. Make it possible.

We enjoy Prince Edward Island in the Canadian Maritimes any time of the year, but in winter it's perfect, just as it is in summer. Snow but not cold. Stays cool enough to keep the snow but doesn't get cold or seriously cold. Friendly people, local organic food available, and ceilidhs from Celtic traditions almost every night!

I guess you can say that we really dont have a favorite vacation spot we simply just want to be able to go down at Christmas in time to see my husband before he is deported. he is 17 hour away is very difficult journey for us it will be the last time that myself and my twoyear old son will be able to see his father before he is forced to return to his native country

We went there 2 years ago and stayed at a hotel with ski in/ski out place. It was absolutely magical, out of this world. We had been there just before the ski season began - just before thanksgiving....andhence had the ski slopes just to ourselves. We had the craziest and best time of our lives sliding down that slope, hiking up the slop and just being goofy. Best part - we'd walk back tired directly into our patio and have hot chocolate from the room. Oh Boy! Wonderful!

My favorite winter get-away is to Whitefish Montana. Love to stay at the Rocky Mountain Best Wester while there. This hotel has a huge outdoor hottub and an attached outdoor all season swimming pool. The ski hill is just minutes away!

For the last 3 yrs..we have been going to Niagara Falls on Dec.27th & 28th with 2 of our closest friends. It's not "exotic" but it is SO BEAUTIFUL this time of year. I normally visit my family during the holidays they live in the Dominican Republic, and a the same time take some times with my wife to stay in a all inclusive hotel to relax and enjoy the sun and the beach and the Dominican food so delicious.

At home in Illinois is the best place to be at Christmas time. Fire in the fireplace, family coming to our house from across the states and lots of fun and laughter.

Love to go to Watertown NY anytime of year...great shopping, restaurants and always stay at the Best Western.....it is a clean hotel, staff are friendly and a great breakfast buffet is included. Kids and I have always had a great experience. Planning on going soon! The warm cookies at the front desk are yummy!

San Luis Obispo, CA is my family's favorite vacation spot at Christmastime. Whether we are walking on the beach collecting shells or watching a movie together, or enjoying a hot chocolate in a coffee shop overlooking the ocean, it is a great place to spend some family time!

I've been to the Christmas markets in Europe a couple of times. My favorite city was Munich, Germany. Otherwise, we always go to south Texas for Christmas and the weather is always mild (except for a couple do years ago when we had a white Christmas).

Our favorite winter destination is the Outer Banks! We always go around Christmas - it's gotten harder as our family has grown up and away, but we manage to fit in at least a few days around the holidays. It's a winter tradition for us! It may be colder at the beach, but the crowds are gone and we have the beach to ourselves. We can walk and look for shells, or sit in front of the big oceanfront picture window building puzzles and watching for dolphins.

Our favorite place in the winter or over the holidays is Jasper, Alberta. The Best Western there is great. We get a room with a loft and kitchen, cook our turkey, kids go skiing. They come back to the room with the smell of turkey and a fire going. Add some mulled wine and games and the holiday is set! There are always "goodies" to leave behind for the housekeeping staff!!

A favorite place in the winter involves heat! The Caribbean is nice this time of the year!

Ski hills at Blue Mountain! Beautifully stunning, glistening white slopes, air so fresh you can see your breath! Strolling through the village, quaint shops and eateries - Oh, what a feeling!

Panama is the spot, from Ottawa in January to the dry Arc area is about 50 C difference. Given the 30cm of snow here in Ottawa tomorrow, why did I not leave yesterday. Oh we'll 10 more days till lift off.

Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada is the most beautiful place to visit in summer or winter. Winter adds the beauty of snow.

We always go somewhere warmer in the winter...just makes sense to us. How about a lucky trip to Las Vegas to wear your shorts and flipflops and walk the Strip with all the other smartees. Cold to Vegas natives isaround 50 degrees...not too bad when you come from ice and snow!

Vermont is the most relaxing place on earth. Drive through the mountains and all cares just melt away!

Christmas is family time for our family and we aways celebrate the Holidays with family. Either in White Rock BC or Calgary Alberta. Calgary is a very close first as most family members enjoy winter sports and what better ski hill is there than Lake Louise.

I don't do a lot of traveling in the winter, but. I always reach a point where I'm sick of the cold & dreary weather, & just need to get away for a day or 2. Nashville is the perfect spot, because it's not too far to be a pain.for just a weekend trip, & there's always so much to do to take my mind off of home. Not to mention plenty of honey Tonka & live music to warm up a cold winter's night.

I enjoy visiting family and friends in the bay area especially San Francisco, CA during the holiday season.

As a family we either meet at my aunts house in Edcouch, Texas or our other aunts house in Monte Alto, Texas. Either way our Christmas' are usually warmer than some are used to but we always have love and tamales surrounding us.

We usually stay home here in Utah but now that we are retired we plan to travel to see family in California and Texas.

If half the fun of travelling is the getting there then please know that you can travel there by both train and car. If a person chooses a train it is a special train whose
sole destination is Leavenworth. Inside the train cars is great comraderie -
Christmas carolling and jugs of cocoa and some great scenery as you leave
Seattle and travel to this magical place. There is a lot of laughter and joy aboard this train and you quickly become acquainted with the others who are your travelling companions.
You can also opt to drive but you may need to chain up before getting to Leavenworth. The town will be all aglow with Christmas Lights and their
will be a huge Christmas tree in the middle of town that you gather around to
watch for the lighting of the tree.
A horse and sleigh is a great way to enhance your special time in Leavenworth.
The horse is beautiful and gentle and it's a unique way to see the scenery.
Leavenworth is a must-see for this family. It is a small german-like village that
might just capture your heart.

We stay home with family and friends. My mom is 86 and I enjoy every minute God has blessed us with her.This is important since we recently lost a beloved brother.

My husband and I would love just a quick weekend getaway in Key West, FL. Being Fl residents it's an easy drive to just get away to a place we've heard great stories about but have never been able to go to. Times are tough for everyone these days, and vacations are so hard to come by. But knowing there's this great vacation spot within driving distance yet far enough away to be a vacation, taunts us each year as we try to hope that next year we can do it.

The best outdoor winter, sking, snowbording, snow play areas, boldering, hiking, bike friendly, rock climbing, Downtown area (WooHoo!) local restraunts (one rated top 95% in the WORLD with others competing) great food, micro breweries, shopping, art galleries; easy daytriping to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Bearazona, Deer Farm, train ride to the canyon. Visiting friends and family reguardless of age or intrest all LOVE it! My overflow always stay in Best Western hotels in the area.

My favorite wintertime destination is anywhere warm!! I love to go on cruises to the Carribean. This year I am heading to Jamaica for the first time on an all girl trip. I have organized for 4 sisters, 3 neices and 3 girlfriends from Canada and the U.S. to all meet in Jamaica for one week!!!

My parents Eddie and Genny are both retired public school teachers of 34 years service each. My two brothers and I didn't take a whole lot of vacations growing up, but since my parents retired, we've been able to make up for that with wonderful vacations in our national parks. I've done so many national park family trips: Yellowstone, Yosemite, Great Smokies, Everglades, Olympic, Glacier, Big Bend, Crater Lake, and many others. While our younger brother Garett is married with a daughter of his own, my brother Craig is single like me, and he's become quite a fine landscape photographer on park trips. A years ago, for Christmas, we did one of the most iconic American family trips of all: the Grand Canyon, as well as Petrified Forest. We took all scenic byways round the red rock canyon country of Sedona en route to the national park, where we spent a snowy white Christmas. We took hot chocolate at the Hermits Rest lookout point, just soaking up the beauty of the snow-dusted, layered canyon walls above the mighty Colorado River that carved them. I will never forget the peace and joy as a family that we experienced in this wonderful winter place, a real treasure everyone can enjoy!

My daughter and I travel to Bangor, Maine, to shop. There are usually different things there to pick from and it feels more like a vacation than a shopping trip. We stay at the Best Western White House Inn. We enjoy staying there. They bake cookies for the guests and I LOVE their hot breakfast complete with homemade baked beans in the Crockpot. We also visit the Maine State Prison furniture showroom while there. Well priced, quality gifts. We have done this for about twelve years

I like to go to Gatlinburg, Tennesee in the winter. The mountains are so pretty this time of year.

Big Island of Hawaitt is my first choice. Would visit family and friends. I love the sun of Hawaii (warm light rain at times) and sun of Southern California. Lots of entertainment in both places.

We both stay close and travel for the holiday...our favorite? The Best Western Eden Resort of course! Wonderful winter rates, indoor pool and whirlpool, and of course the best Sunday Brunch known to man! A trip to Hershey Chocolate World after for free tours and singing cows!

My family and I always like to stay home for the holidays. It's just nice to be able to spend time together and it is cozy and private to stay at home. Wouldn't mind the mountains though.

It has become a sort of February tradition that I spring-for 2 Myrtle Beach golf trips with my 2 sons. I am retired and work around their schedules and get to spend some quality time with each of them individually. The trips involve flying out of Atlantic City on Spirit Airlines and spending 1 night at the Best Western Ocean Sands hotel. We play golf on the days of arrival and departure, so it is only a "taste" of the more typical golf vacations. However, it's always a fun time and we get a little break from the New Jersey winter, with Spring just around the corner.

You can't beat home for the holidays but by February we are ready for a change of scenery ... Can one beat the Quebec Carnival!!

Yosemite is always beautiful this time of year. Parts of it are not accessible this time of year, but there is still much to see. Lunch at the Ahwahnee in front of a blazing fire, looking out at the majestic, snow capped mountains is an experience not to be missed.

I stay close to home, but drive a short distance to Cloudcroft, NM in the mountains for a winter taste of snow, pine trees, and black bears.

My family and I love to stay in Galveston,Texas for the holidays. The warm weather is a plus. Great seafood and you go back in time in Galveston. A stay at one of two Best Westerns on the beach is a great holiday gift.

On Boxing Day (December 26th in Canada), we leave all the hustle and bustle (and mess) of Christmas at home and drive south of the border to Fargo, North Dakota. It's a much smaller town than where we live and we enjoy a couple of nights in a hotel and a couple of days of after Christmas shopping and dining out. Just the two us, my husband and I, enjoying a much needed mini-vacation. It's an annual Christmas present to ourselves.

We love visiting our relatives in Arizona's Valley of the Sun during the holidays. Best time to be in the desert.

We like to stay home in rural Saskatchewan. Quiet, comfortable and relaxed.

My favorite place to be in the winter is Kauai, Hawaii. Winter in Kauai (the garden island) is warm, breezy, with maybe a little rain, and, oh, such a lovely break from the chill on the mainland.

Bandon, Oregon. The temperatures are mild (for the Pacific Northwest) and the scenery is awesome. On a windy day our dogs chase the blowing sea foam across the sandy beach.

Powderhorn Ski Resort, Grand Mesa, Colorado and Smugglers Notch, Vermont are hard to beat in winter. Solomon's Island, Maryland in the summer, and Sheanondoah Valley, VA in the Fall, Palmdale, CA in the Spring.

Sunshine Village ski hill is our wintertime destination. Family ski day at Christmas is a must.

Oh, this is difficult! Last year for our wedding anniversary (December 9th) we stayed at the Best Western on Coronado Island in San Diego. We had the most wonderful time! Then, this year we stayed at Best Western on Mt. Hood in Government Camp, Oregon. Whether it is fun in the sun or snow, we have found a Best Western close by... You want a favorite place... Oh, alright, I will say the Best Western right across the street from Disneyland! Yeah, we have stayed there THREE times!!! :)

We are winter snow birds and tend to fly south where it is sunny and warm. Well, we really drive south. Florida is our destination. It is a time to connect with family and friends. We walk the beaches, golf, and enjoy eating at new places. Everyday finds us busy and fulfilled.

Bishop, CA is our favorite winter get away. The mountains are so majestic covered with fresh snow, and the open expanse of the area is relaxing. It is close enough to Mammoth Lakes if there is now snow in Bishop if we want to play in it, or we stay in Bishop and enjoy the quaint shops, hot springs and beautiful scenery. There are a couple Best Western's there, so what more do we need!!

We go to the Perfect North Slopes in Indiana. It is the perfect get a way for us. A good time snow tubing with the kids. A great hotel with an indoor swimming pool for playing in after a day in the snow. They make their own snow so you can go anytime.

McMinnville, Oregon is a lovely place to visit around Christmastime. The lights in town are always done up so nicely and friendliness and good restaurants abound.

Anywhere warm! I love Bahamas but also love Spain! I prefer to go right after Christmas so we get the best of both worlds - snow then sun!

Over the years between Christmas and New Years my husband and I would cross country ski into the Forest Service cabins or Yurts for 3 days in the Payette or Boise National Forest. We have seen some beautiful country very few have seen at this time of year. It is so quiet and relaxing after a long trip to the cabins. A time to reflect on the past year and discuss hopes and dreams for the future.

Bradenton, Florida - the best spot to get away from winter snows.

Elijay, GA. There is a great Best Western on the side of the mountain with a great view and we always stay there. There's usually snow when we go and we always try to score the room with the hot tub! There are great restaurants nearby, both chain and 'mom and pops'. There's also a super Spa nearby that always gets the kinks out. Fun shopping too!

Our favourite winter travel is to take the ferry from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver, BC and see all the grandchildren (10) and their shiny bright faces!
We stay sometimes in whatever Best Western is closest to our destination family and tour around and see the award winning house decorations. Sometimes we are treated to snow, which puts a whole new finish on the scene!

I like to go to Montreal at Christmas to see my family. Great shopping and lots to do!

My vote goes to southern California and San Diego. Warm, sunny days, cool nights can't be beat! At low tide, head for La Jolla and go tide pooling to see interesting marine life at your feet.

We love cruising the caribbean at Christmas. Listening to christmas tunes played on the steel drums with the balmy breeze blowing through your hair, aah.

Winter time is a wonderful time to travel near and far. Some of the places we enjoy is Greenfield Village "Holiday Nights", Sight and Sound Theatre "Miracle of Christmas", Disney World. Enjoying time with family and friends is the best way to celebrate the season. Merry Christmas...Happy New Year!

My favorite wintertime place is Hawaii to visit with my cousin and her family. It really is the perfect place anytime.

We don't generally travel in the winter months, trying to leave the time around the holidays for those we work with who have children off during that time to take the time to visit family. We do, however, try to work out a short trip in late winter, early spring (February/March) when children are back in school and families are home. It is simply impossible to wait until Memorial Day weekend to take some much needed time off from work. Favorite destinations include Michigan, New Jersey, Myrtle Beach, or Florida, all to visit family.

I have always liked traveling to Marco Island, FL just after Christmas with my parents and extended family. I love it because I get out of the Iowa cold and onto a warm, sunny beach. My dad and stepmom got married when I was in veterinary school and since then we've gone three times to Marco. Since we've gone with extended family, I've gotten to know my stepmom's side of the family much better and made many great memories with them. Last year I was so thankful that I was able to go with them, as I had not been on a vacation in several years due school, jobs and getting back on my feet since being laid off. I was nice getting away from all the stresses and just relaxing. In past years we've gotten up to see dolphins, done a lot of shelling, gone paragliding and lots of fun things. I am so thankful for those vacations!

Love the suites! Lots of room for our whole family and a great place to cook to unwind form the day so we can relax and not have to eat out every night of vacation.

Our family always travels to the Upper Pensulia of Michigan and see St Ignace Sault St Marie and the Brimley area What a great place to see the snow and to enjoy some gambling. Great State of Michigan

We love Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we like to be close to the beach and shopping etc. You can't beat the Best Western Plus for proximity to everything. A great breakfast, clean and a great pool. Last year we took a jaunt to the Keys and stayed a few days at a Best Western there, our balcony faced the ocean it was absolutely huge and again we had a great breakfast, exotic pool with waterfall and tiki bar. We returned back to the same Best Western in Fort Lauderdale to finish off our vacation before coming back to the cold!

Always make our annual road trip to central Texas to see our kids and grandkids during the family Holiday seasons.

My favorite place to be for Christmastime is Kentucky. I call it home and with its rolling hills, winter weather and cedar trees I think it makes a lovely Christmas. Bourbon ball anyone? Yes there is nothing like a Kentucky Christmas.

We don't travel far from home in the wintertime but we don't have to. We live in Logan County Ohio and have a huge variety of adventures right here. We have Mad River Mountain for skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Indian Lake for ice fishing when it freezes over. The historic Holland theater for special events and the Orr Mansion for exploring our history. We also have caverns open year-round because the temperature underground never changes. Yes, we have plenty to keep us busy.

Warmer weather is always a must when traveling in winter months.. Randy and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary In February. We are planning a trip to Cancun Mexico we have never traveled there and are looking forward to it immensely. We both work in Agriculture and 9 mos out of the year when weather is fine we are very very busy. We do appreciate relaxation and a calmer scene when we vacation.

I have to say Thailand has been my favourite winter vacation. The people, food traditions, culture, and the people oh I already said that. Although a person couldn't say it enough....the people are beautiful in more ways then one...they made our vacation the reason why we want to return some day.

I dream of going some where warm for Christmas but we go to the Grandparents in North Vancouver because it is tradition and it does bring warmth to the heart.

We leave after Christmas from Columbus, Ohio and drive across the country to our winter destination, Las Vegas. We enjoy seeing the sights as we go and we certainly enjoy the weather and the excitement in Vegas. We return in April.

Several Decembers my husband and I have gone to the Grand Canyon for a few days. Our wedding anniversary is December 19th (our 48th this year) so it is always special to go to this unique spot. The Grand Canyon is fantastic every season but with snow on the ground, it is exceptionally beautiful.

The Okanagan Valley in BC has something for everyone in winter. Awesome powder for skiing at Big White and Silver Star. Several terrific Best Western locations to stay at. Shopping, dining, hockey, arts and musical events and tons of outdoor recreational activities to keep the whole family entertained.

I LOVE the snow but it sure is nice to get away for a bit and Cuba is Beautiful. I just got back for my first time and WOW Id like to make that my winter holiday every year :)

The Best Western (of course!) in Squamish is our favourite winter destination. It is close enough to everything to make the stay very enjoyable. There is so much to do that we are never bored and the hotel is the Best!!!!!

My favorite winter spot is in Oscoda, Michigan on Lake Huron. The frozen lake is beautiful. To see how the lake freezes hard in some spots, and then there is open water in others. The shore itself has ice pushed up on it. It is an incredible sight.

this is the first time in 24 years that I would love to hear my girls arguing and making lots of noise....They live in Calgary now and I use to ask them for peace and quiet for my Christmas present. I would give up all presents to hear them again...

There is nothing better than the song that describes a Tennessee Christmas. I love travelling just beause its me and my two teenage kids and we have traveled to Pigeon Forge at Christmas and it is so beautiful. It takes my mind off of being home and no family much to speak of and it is a beautiful place. This is my favorite and I miss i so much since we have not been able to go in five years.

My favorite destination is Las Vegas. When we were kids we use to stay at the Best Western in the 60's. My Father was in the Air Force he always had the Best Western Hotel Directory. My brothers and sister use to like to page thru it all the time and look at the map how far to Las Vegas. The Swimming pool was our favorite spot. As the sun was setting we would look for the Big Gold Crown against the neon lights.

My wife and I are debating if we should visit Miami, Florida or Las Vegas, Nevada this winter. We do agree that they are our our top choices!!.

A stay-cation at home is the perfect place to be this year. Though I love to globe trot to the far corners of the earth, meet new people and enjoy fun adventures, now and then, I like to rediscover my my own community.

Hands down is visiting the PA Dutch Country during the winter. Nothing like a sleigh ride through the farmlands and a ride on the Strasbourg Railroad during a snow fall. Finish the day with hot coco in font of a roaring fire.

Our family likes to visit Williamsburg Virginia. It's wonderful to walk around the town and see traditional colonial decorations, listen to old time carols and drink hot chocolate!

My Favorite destination is home for the holidays. Going into the crisp cold forest and searching for just that perfect tree. Draging it home and singing Christmas Carrols all the way with the family.. Hum, Taking it into the wood stove heated living room with the aroma of freshly mulled cider heating on the stove while mom and grandma were busy in the kitchen popping out sugar cookies. Waiting for the wee ones to decorate them.. Decorating the three with festive colors and lots of tinsel was the style then. Kicking back look at the tree in AWE as the daughters played Christmas music on the piano and trumpet. Ahhh.. those were the good old days.

I stay home in the Lower Mainland of BC, and pray for snow. It doesn't matter where I am, as long as it is a White Christmas...and that doesn't happen too often. I am heading to BW in Squamish for 2 days of snow prior to Christmas with the hope of getting me into the mood. This year at least our ground is white now and it is December 21st...so it is helping to 'set the mood'.

I used to travel to Pennsylvania when I was younger. It's so beautiful there! But lately I have been staying in my own state of Ohio. It's very beautiful on the country side full of snow!

I love the beauty of Juneau, Alaska every day of the year but when the winter sets in and coats Juneau with snow and ice I do not mind anywhere south from Seattle to Puerto Vallarta where I can warm my cold bones. Swimming in nice warm water and soaking in some sun makes the hot tottie just fine. I would love to top it all off with a frozen margarita closing my eyes and praying for a great fishing day next summer back home in Juneau.

We actually go way down to South Texas since it is the only time when the heat is not as unbearable as it can be.

I have been thru 64 winters of snow and cold being raised in Pennsylvania and now living in Ohio. For the first time in my life, now being retired, I am spending the holidays on the South Carolina coast where there is sun and sand. My husband and I do miss our grandchildren tremendously, but we wanted to see what a Christmas without snow and cold is like. I love the ocean, but I love the Smokey Mountains as well. That may be on the agenda for next year. I would love the holidays in a mountain cabin with a crackling fireplace and white snow, a live Christmas tree and my grandchildren drinking hot chocolate.

For the past 20 plus years we go to Christmas Day dinner at our neighbors in beautiful Sarasota, FL. We have shared many laughs & tears together & have watched our children grow up. Maybe next year they (the now grown children) will cook!

Love being in Sarasota Florida for Christmas. No more shoveling snow for me!

I travel to visit family who lives in another state.

My tradition is to spend the holiday season with family & friends.

This is my very first time traveling at Christmas and we will be staying at our favorite hotel BestWestern in Cle'Elum WA. We usually stay there in the summer or early fall to visit our daughters and grandkids and we stayed at this hotel several times and will be staying there at least once a year as long as I can travel. We are always welcomed and we get a nice room and a good breakfast. We also like to travel to the surrounding towns like Leavenworth, Ellensburgh for shopping and history tours with our grandchildren. This will be my husband's first white Christmas and it has been many years since I've had a white Christmas so I'm looking forward to our stay again.

Our favorite Winter location is Waterville Valley,N.H. the Skiing is great and the Best Western is so homey with very hospitable Norwegian owners that treat you like Family.

My favorite place to visit is the wonderful windy city of Chicago, Illinois. The Michigan Mile is lovely with elegant sparkling lights, convenient transportation and glorious stores for shopping. Chicago is beautiful this time of the year.

We would love to visit Disney during the winter! My daughter would be amazed if we got to see the parade of lights! and with a family of four we could always use a bestwestern vacation!!

I just came back from my favorite winter destination and it was Disneyland!! I always try to stay at the BW Anaheim Inn or Park View Inn right across from Disneyland. Visiting during the holiday season with their beautiful lights and seasonal displays is wonderful! The Christmas parade is also a real treat for kids & adults alike! :)

Christmas is about family so as long as we are together its a great Christmas!

We love staying in Calgary, Alberta over Christmas. It is a half way point for part of our family and the only time that we all have a few days off. The other place is Niagara Falls, Ontario, because the other half of the family lives within a hours drive.

My all time favorite place to be in wintertime is at our country place in a little town called Weir which is in the Laurentian mountains in Quebec. We spend the evenings with family, warming up by the fireplace listening to good music with a bottle of great red wine. In the daytime we'll take a walk on the snow encrusted country roads or walk across the frozen lake. Life doesn't get much better than that!!!!!

My family always travels some time after New Year's day. Sometimes we pick the Armenian Christmas Day - JAN 6th, for travel; and sometimes around Martin L. King day. Winter time we choose resorts so we can spend time in the hotel + some activities (e.g. skating, skiing, national parks). The recent places visited are: Carousel Hotel in Ocean City MD, Orlando Florida - Universal, NASA, Skiing in Scranton PA.

This year my husband and I are having a very different Christmas, celebrating both our retirements with a pre Christmas getaway holiday gift to each other. We travelled to the beautiful South of the USA spending a week exploring New Orleans followed by a little over 2 weeks on a road trip through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee staying at Best Westerns all the way. A wonderfully memorable experience which we arrived home from yesterday. We left temperatures of 26c in Louisiana to arrive back to a white cool Christmas in BC Canada's Rocky Mountains. We're enjoying the best of two seasons all in one this Christmas. Now all that's left to do is a little Christmas baking, wrap those gifts and celebrate Christmas day at home with family and friends .... And wishing a very Happy Christmas to all our fellow Best Westerners.

Hawaii is a great choice winter or anytime,however just spent a week in San Diego and that was fabulous as well. Either would be exceptable.

A Cruise to the Caribbean is the best way to celebrate Winter

Our family loves to leave cold rainy Oregon in Jan, and visit the Disneyland resort in our neighboring state of CA. It is such a nice break from the cold, and it's great to see the sun again!

Upper Canada Village 'Lite a Nite' is our favourite to enhance the Christmas season. Brillant, colourful lights frame old buildings in a truely winter wonderland of days gone by. Walk the village, ride the horse drawn sleigh, watch lights rock to music, drink hot chocolate, then warm up enjoying a turkey dinner. (By the St. Lawrence Seaway, on Hwy. #2 between Morrisburg & Cornwall)

Our favorite place is the Blue Ridge mountains. No matter what time of year, it is great but in Winter it is beyond belief. NC and TN have the best views and Wonderful Parkway scenes. Best part is all the Best Westerns in those areas.

I like to get away when ever I can. For the last couple of years we have gone stateside just to get away between Christmas and The New Year. Washington, Oregon, and California.

Today is mine and my wife 10 year anniversary.And as Harley riders we just pick a different place each.But where ever we go we make sure that Best Western is with us.

I used to go to Jamaica for a week every winter. I loved getting away for the sunshine and relaxation during a snowy Canadian winter.
The past several years we have stuck pretty close to home but my son is getting to the age where a Disney trip during the snowy season might be just the ticket.

After visiting Phoenix/Scottsdale a few years ago, my wife and I were so impressed with the area and recreational activites there that we'd really like to get back for a longer visit in the future. And being from the "great white north" as we are, the southern Arizona climate in winter surely beats the snow, ice, and cold up here.

Hawaii would be my favorite winter holiday! We live in the Sunny Okanagan so every day is a beautiful day here!

WE travel to Ocean Shores: Right on the beach with a room overlooking the dunes to the water----usually for a storm, or the tsunami debris---a stormy night with a fireplace---the "Waves" restaurant, the indoor pool and hot tub---but best is the
look-out watchtower above the roof.

We usually stay pretty close to home and family, but there have been a few years that we have been in Florida between Christmas and New Year's Day or on the ski slopes in Colorado with youth group kids.

We love to visit family in RI during the winter and staying in West Greenwich. The Best Western there is encircled by pine trees and you feel like you are surrounded by nature. They are always welcoming there. Our favorite is the continental breakfast.

We like to go to Ocean Shores and watch the waves and drift come in.

My favorite winter destination is Allentown, PA. I stayed at the Best Western Inn and Suites, which has an indoor heated pool. I visited the Martin Guitar Co. where they take you on a tour to the manufacturing plant. Excellent experience! I also went to a very famous with outdoors men, store named Cabella's, which is huge and very interesting. That was a perfect winter weekend!

Spending time in our winter wonderland in northern Alberta followed by a cozy wood-burning fireplace or stove~the warmth from it can't be beat!!!

Jasper Banff Parkway is beautiful. The hwy is sometimes dicey so you must drive slow, but that's a good thing so you have more time to enjoy the scenery.

Jasper Banff Parkway is beautiful. The hwy is sometimes dicey so you must drive slow, but that's a good thing so you have more time to enjoy the scenery

I love to go home to Michigan in the winter. All my family is there and I live in Texas. There is no place like home for the holidays. Something about all that snow just brings back all the best childhood memories.

Although I sure don't get there as often as I would like, my favorite place to go in the winter is Michigan. I live in Texas but Michigan is my home. and there is nothing like home for the holidays with all my family. Something about all the snow just brings back wonderful childhood memories.

Anywhere warm. By February I'm sick of the Michigan winters and want to get away. Last warm play I went was Hollywood, Florida. Stayed right on the boardwalk and walked to dinner every night.

Disney World is the most magical place on earth & the Very Merry Christmas is something that must be experienced.

Our favorite Winter destination is our daughter's home in TX. We live in Illinois; our daughter comes home for Christmas; we drive her home and stay with her for a couple months. However, on the way to her home and back we stay in one of your fabulous hotels. Also, while we are in TX, we often take side trips and travel around the Southern states, again staying in your hotels. Thank you for my entry in your contest! Wish me luck in winning!!!!

Our favorite place is Whistler. The skiing is fabulous. We relax in the hot tub later with a glass of wine. After that we sit in front of a roaring fire and nearly fall asleep until we drag ourselves to bed. Then we do it all over again. What could be better. Gathering in a cabin with our friends and family watching the snow fall. It truly is magical.

Whistler is my favorite place to be. Fresh powder snow. Good Friends, Good food and fresh air. What could be better than sitting in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine and watching the snow fall.

My favorite destination is Fort Myers, Fl. We go there every year in Feb.

I like hitting the road and seeing colorful lights and Christmas displays all around. My favorite so far is the Festival of Lights in Kensington, MD. It's an indoor and outdoor display with over 600,000 lights, musical concerts, and christmas trees on display. Plus it's free so well within my budget.

This is on my bucket list: A trip to Sheridan, WY for a day-trip snowmachine ride across the top of the Big Horns.

For all of my childhood it was Kamloops BC to see my grandparents but now there's more family elsewhere so it's wherever the most of us can be schedule wise - for the past 10 years it's been just about every province but my grandma loves to fly so I think she's arranged it that way!!

Agua Prieta, a Mexican town bordering Douglas Arizona. I go there to work on relief projects a couple of times a year. It is best in winter when it is not too hot. The place is not much to look at, but the people are WONDERFUL.

Home. We like to avoid long-distance freeway travel and explore the many local Washington DC and Baltimore attractions that are easy to take for granted since we live here.

Nelson BC I'm so glad you have a BW there now. This is a real authentic ski town with friendly people who love the mountains and outdoors-no pretentious tourists just people who respect the environment and enjoy the lifestyle. It's heaven on earth.

I live in the northeast U.S., but for two years lived in New Mexico. In winter, I plan to live in Las Cruces, N.M. for 3-4 months, because I LOVE the land of enchantment. Rents for furnished short term leases are reasonable, I love the weather, the landscape, the culture, the people - in short, everything!! PLUS!! I wouldn't have to deal with snow and freezing, wet weather, ice and black ice!!

I explored much of New Mexico with my family when I lived in New Mexico in the early '80's, and some of Arizona. There is more to explore, and to revisit all the places I've been, and see how almost 30 years have changed things!!

We usually go to Las Vegas or Laughlin Nevada, and have our own "snow day"!

Christmas Day is always at home with family. 2 days later we are on the road heading south. Palm Springs is our destination but on the way we do mini tours of various states. Once there we explore all Southern California has to offer. One of the best places we have found for a variety of activities from dining to sight seeing, wine country to shopping, casinos to tourist attractions. Every Thursday on the main drag watching the folks at the street festival. This valley has it all!

I love to go to Gavle, Sweden to visit my best friend. The snow is piled high & you can't even go out the front door without shoveling the snow away! The nights look like day & you have to close the blinds so you can get some sleep. Gavle is about 45 minutes by train. You have to travel out of Stockholm. It is truly beautiful there. You can walk or ride your bike to get to the main center. Swedish people love Americans!
I feel so welcome there every year I go.

We usually stay home around the holidays and our kids can come visit us.We have a great Christmas day together opening presents, having a great christmas lunch then we play family games like Apples to Apples or Farkle! We have a lot of fun. Soon the kids will have to go back to their own homes in Alaska and Portland, Maine.

We love family ski trips! Spending quality family time together gets harder each year and when the kids want to be with you, that's a win! We usually ski vermont or maine since we can drive, but all of us want to try skiing out west. Winter is the only time we can this wonderful sport, so any mountain that has snow is a great wintertime travel detsination for us.

I love to come to Fort Myers Florida to share Christmas with friends. I am here now! The only white Christmas I saw was the white sand at Sanibel! Love it ! We enjoy going to our cabin outside Buckhannon, WV . There we can snowtube, snowmobile and try our hand at winter time fishing, then relax by the fire place or fire ring, with a cup of coffee or hot cocoa..

My folks have 30 grandchildren and now with the great grandchildren starting it is to many people for us to spend Christmas together at someones house. So, we meet at an conference room at a hotel in Fargo ND. The late 2 years we staid at the Best Western, Kelly Inn Suites and it was great. For me I have 5 kids and 3 grandkids and I get 2 joining rooms for us to stay and enjoy my grandkids. If it works out we stay 2 nights. We already scheduled a date with them for next Christmas. They always have treated us so great and anything we needed they we happy to oblige.

we have aged and lowered our health state we now stay closer to home and do
every other weekend trips visiting our grand children in Windsor,Niagara Falls, Sault Ste.Marie and Paradice in the UP Michigan.

We'd love to be able to see our granddaughters, (9 mo. & 4 yrs) in the winter. They live 1,300 miles from us (a 22 hr drive) in Alexandria, VA.

My wife and I plan to spend the next several Christmas's in Mazatlan Mexico. We have a condo in this beautiful city. This is our first year here at this time of year and the friendly Mexican's really make the most of Christmas.
I stopped at a Best Western hotel in Edmonton on my way here, early morning flight.

When you are born in the northern hemisphere spending Christmas in temperatures of 27'C is a treat, one we will easily get use too.

We love going to San Diego in November and April each year. We go in November before freeze up and April before break up. We live in a wintry town. Winter Favorite? Chicago, for sure! I like arriving very early on the day after Thanksgiving, in time to make it to the Art Institute for cocoa and 'wreathing of the lions.' Then it's charging up and down State St and Michigan Ave to plan the excursions for the following days. A little snow is nice, but not necessary!

And the Best Western is so conveniently situated for all this. Hope to do it all again next year!

We usually stay close to home in Colorado, but have made holiday trips to Jackson Hole, WY. We typically drive, but have also flown in to Jackson Hole Airport. The most beautiful mountain range in the lower 48. You have wildlife everywhere. The best skiiing in the lower 48. The atmosphere, staying at the Lodge in Jackson Hole....also the best Best Western hotel! It doesn't get any better.......: )

My Family and I rented two Best Western Suites in Cocoa Beach For Christmas we stayed 2 nights. Our rooms where wonderful I took my Grandchildren Son and his wife, the reservations came with breakfast. Everyone had so much fun, the pool is heated, plenty of waves and walking distance to the pier. We are talking about doing this next year. No one wanted to come home , we have such great memories and photo's of the 2 days.

We love to drive to SW Colorado. Taking Hwy 160 west through Wolf Creek Pass, Pagosa Springs, Telluride and on to Ouray. It doesn't get any prettier than that. We stay at the Best Western in Ouray. The best Ice Climbing in the country. The atmosphere and location is unbeatable.....especially during the holidays.

California is my favorite travel destination. My family and I enjoyed our travel there during winter. We hope to move there one day.

Our favorite place to go is Pigeon Forge Tennessee. There's nothing like staying in Gatlinburg (next to Pigeon Forge) in a rental cabin and looking out and seeing the snow coming down while enjoying the fire in the fireplace. We didn't see any bear this time though. Dollywood in Pigeon Forge is wonderfully decorated for the Christmas season and gets you in the mood right away. All the shows in the park are great and they make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. They definitely know the reason for the season at Dollywood and the live music and songs they sing and the atmosphere make you think about the babe in the manger. If you're not in the Christmas spirit when you leave there, you'll never be!!!!!!!

Our favorite winter place to visit is Fernie! It's SO beautiful there in the winter time, with the fresh blankets of snow on those beautiful mountains, the Ski chalets and the Lodge are spectacular. However, we stayed at The Best Western during the Fly Fishing Championships in 2008, and have been wanting to go back ever since - ultimate in comfort, luxury, and the staff were so pleasant to interact with. Much like the one in Whistler (love it there too, it's too hard to pick just one!).
Alpine Fernie area is beautiful, however, with the majestic Elk River running through, and the Michelle Creek tributary not far from there with some beautiful trails as well.

We head south of the border for our holidays. I enjoy the sun after living in Alaska for most of the year. Holidays in the warmer climates are less stressful, not near as commercially orientated, and the true nature of the holiday is much more appreciated.

For the Holidays it's nice to be home, around family. In terms of winter travel, somewhere warm always sounds inviting.

We loved Tucson in winter! At 87 and 74 years, we try to travel while we still can. What a wonderful vacation it was! The desert, cactus, warm air, good friends were really appreciated. The bonus was traveling north to Sedona and Williams before we left. The best time of year is winter there - not many people in the Grand Canyon which made travel easier and a lot of fun. Wonderful!!!

Alta Lodge, UTAH!!!

Our very most favorite winter spot is Fort Bragg, CA and the Mendocino coast. After all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it is so nice to get away to a place where life goes a little slower and people always have time to say "hi" to you when you pass by them on the street. No matter what the weather, it is always beautiful on the North Coast. And, we do go there not only for the peace and beauty, but also the amazing food, beer and wine the region offers. We are heading up there next week for our yearly winter retreat! And, there is a Best Western up there! Just across the street from the Pacific Ocean, and the views are pretty awesome from the hotel!

San Diego is where my husband and I usually go, but we might try somewhere new next year.

We head south of the border for some less stressful holiday festivities. Great way to re-charge our batteries after running our business in Alaska. I can recommend it for everyone!

In 1966 I traveled from Saigon to Boston, Ma. It was Thanksgiving Day and I was going home on leave after completing my tour of duty. We refueled in anchorage and had to de-ice the wings three times before successful take off. I took a red-eye from San Francisco to NYC and the shuttle at 7:30am from NY to Boston, but fog prevented landing at Logan. The pilot made several attempts, including having to go to Conn. to refuel, finally giving up and delivering us to Conn. where we were then shuttled to Logan. Arriving finally at the front door of my mother's apt. in Dorchester, Ma.; She was not expecting me, did not know I was coming home. The look on her face when she opened the door sealed forever in my heart my favorite travel destination.

Christmas time in New Orleans, Louisiana is beautiful. The perfect place for people who like warmer weather... almost never any snow!!! Christmas Caroling in Jackson Square and beautiful Christmas decorations all thru the French Quarter... Especially the Hotels in that area...

My favorite place to visit in the winter time is Gulf Shores, AL. We just recently got back and are stay at the Best Western was great. We have stayed there several time and always are treated great. Looking forward to going again soon.

We love Sun Valley Idaho. It's a beautiful place, great skiing, beautiful outdoor ice skating rink and great reaturants. The Best Western in Ketchum is a great place to stay.

Our family loves to travel to Corvallis, OR. where the rain sometimes stops falling. We live in Astoria, OR. where the rain never stops falling. If you like "liquid sunshine" come out to Oregon.

Carson City, NV is my favorite winter destination. The area is open to all types of indoor and outdoor winter activities.

During the day I can snow ski several Lake Tahoe resorts without the crazyness of the Lake Tahoe traffic.
I can go hiking or mountain biking in the hills around Carson City.

At night I can gamble or dance the night away in the Best Western Carson Station Casino.

My wife and I headanywhere coastal for our late December anniversary. If we're lucky we encounter a winter storm and are FORCED to stay indoors. ;)

We like to have a winter holiday in Florida, California or Hawaii. We also would like to try Texas this year.

I love to go to Haiti in the winter. Temp 34 degrees and we can help the poor people there recovering from one disaster after the other.

My favorite winter destination is Boston, MA. My mom always took my brother and I to visit with her family there when we were younger. As many times as we were there during our childhood, we have still never seen snow. I would love to go back during the winter and experience the city as an adult!

I love to travel to Daytona FL for Bike Week. It is so nice to leave the cold and be able to ride my bike like a summer ride once you are in sunny Florida. It warms the soul and lets you know spring is on the way.

My husband and I hope to take a break away during the 3rd week of February to celebrate our Anniversary. We hope to visit San Diego and Scotsdale Arizona
and plan to stay at a Best Western as we usually do.
We find they are comfortable, clean and centrally located in most places with good courteous service.
Being from central alberta it is a good time to get away and enjoy a little sunshine and warm weather.

We stay home for the holidays but have chosen March 14 to go to Hot Spings, Arkansas to Oaklawn for horse racing. Hopefully spring will have arrived in central Arkansas by then!

Where's my favorite place? I'd rather go someplace I've never been. I am an old timer retired teacher who was always on a tight budget. I'd love to visit New Orleans. It has been a lifetime dream.

There is no place like home for Christmas with family and friends!!! We used to enjoy snowmobiling in the beautiful Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. A blanket of snow on the evergreens is a beautiful sight!!! Would love to take a trip to warm Hawaii with the whole family to relax and count our blessings!!! Have stayed at the Best Western many times -- for five months recently, while our new home was being built. Great stay!!!

Things have changed dramatically in my life, after recently getting married to an amazing man with 5 siblings & their 5 spouses this only child with no family in this province & most out of the content let alone the country, all I can say is WOW. So now we travel almost 2 hours to 1 & an hour to another. All the while enjoying the beautiful winters of South Western Ontario. So nice to know there is always a Best Western near by so when the snow gets to deep we just spend the night & start over for home the next morning.

My favourite destination during the Holiday Season is Quebec City and Mont Ste-Anne ski resort........which is one of the most impressive mointain in the Eastern part of our beautiful Canada.

Our favorite Winter destination is Leavenworth, Washington. Nestled in the mountains, it is a beautiful, Bavarian themed town located east of the Cascade Mountain Range. For the sports enthusiast, you have Stevens Pass and Mission Ridge for alpine skiing/snow-boarding,and mile upon mile in the Leavenworth area for snow-shoeing, cross country skiing, and snow-mobiling. Not to be remiss, there is a wonderful tubing hill right in Leavenworth at Ski Hill. The town is magical at all times with the serenity of the snow, but the Christmas lighting season is soul-quenching, and the town continues to provide Winter entertainment with the celebration of Winterfest.

The nicest scenery that I've ever seen is in the Queen Charlotte Islands. White sand beaches, lava beds, old growth forests, bald eagles, great blue heron. A terrific place to spend a holiday.

My favorite place in the winter is Salt Lake City. The Temple Square has the most beautiful display of lights for Christmas. It doesn't matter what religion you are. The Square welcomes all visitors and what a better place to witness the beauty of the season as well as the lighting display.

Wintering in the Rio Grande Valley,Texas. Lots to do,friendly people and warm. Got to like it when you come from the Great White North.

I love the snowy mountains of Pa. Where I live especially at Christmas time. It's so beautiful. But, I have to admit I love a warm get away like Florida to visit family for a week or so. Would love to one day go somewhere tropical. :)

I must say, my favorite Best Western was in New York CIty -- the 'President Plus' on W48th & 8th. It was just round the corner from Time Square, where all the great happenings are! Truly looking forward to going back next month (January) for some great site seeing and definitely the shopping!!!

We hit the road this holiday...December. We did the Grand Loop of National Parks from Bryce Canyon, to Arches, to Canyonlands, to the Grand Canyon. It is so awesome to be in the National Parks with very little people. The most incredible experience we had was when a storm hit Bryce Canyon and almost 3 feet of snow fell...overnight! We got up to an unbelieveable winter wonderland, there were only 3 other cars in the park that morning. It was so unblieveably quiet, the snow was still falling and the overlooks were covered in a snow mist with the hoodoo's topped with snow caps. I could have stayed there much longer but being a Californian I was COLD! Would not have given up that experience for anything!!!

Disneyland! I just love how it is all decorated for Christmas with the lights and all the special Christmas touches like the "snow" after the fireworks!

New York City! It is an amazing place to visit in general, but right before Christmas it's magical! So much to see and do, and the tree at Rockefeller Center is worth the trip itself.

For Christmas I took my husband to the Best Western Eden Resort in Lancaster, PA. Your property is beautiful and the designers thought of everything for our comfort and enjoyment. The staff was also friendly and efficient. We enjoyed the Lancaster area as well and visited an amazing full-sized train museum, went for a drive through Amish country, enjoyed a couple of the local restaurants, visited the Wilbur chocolate factory and did a bit of Christmas shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it for anyone!

My favorite place is New Orleans, LA at Christmas time. The special foods that they eat at that time of the year, the Christmas music, & the characters from the past that roam around the French Quarter!!! It is magical there at that time of the year!

When my children were younger, we would take a late-winter vacation by staying the weekend at a nearby hotel with indoor pool. That became a tradition. I might start that again now that I have grandchildren. Other than that, the travel my family and I do during the wintertime is mostly close to home.

Christmas Trips to warm climates are the way to go. I always try to find a bestwestern wherever I go and my lodgings are always up to par.

Mt. Washington, half price week became a tradition - basically the only time we could afford to go skiing. The bonus was during the week, the hill is uncrowded. There'd be a crowd of us, with friends & families.

Our favorite winter destination (and any time of year) is: The Best Western Bridgewood in Neenah, Wisconsin.

No, it is not in an exotic location but has everything we absolute love! It is an an area that has a variety of dining, shopping and entertainment to keep us amused. The hotel is clean with a beautiful interior including the spacious rooms which include a microwave and fridge. There is a large, delicious breakfast served every morning. The staff is friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautiful with a walking path with seasonal mini golf. For convenience, there is an attached Ground Round restaurant with fantastic food. Another amenity is a family friendly and clean aquatic center as well as a great fitness center.

I could go on and on. My only wish is that we could find this hotel in our other favorite destinations.

we love to travel to Hawaii the best, we've been 4 x together & 1 more time my wife & her mother went. It is ssoooooooo nice to just get away & be at peace with nature & all the wonders of the ocean has to offer. The climate is so nice as well as the other people relaxing on Holidays. We taken our granddaughters on 3 of the trips ( twice for the oldest & once with the 12 year old & her friend). So many nice memories. One just relaxes just thinking of being there, HHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA!

The Island of Maui would be my choice of a spot to travel to in the winter.

The nicest place on the world for the winter time is Gran Canaria. It's 26 degrees of warm, possible to sweam on the ocean.

Sooo many places that are wonderful to visit ( and Best Western has always been good to us) but the place I would choose this holiday season to visit would be to Ohau, Hawaii. One of our Grandson's is on temporary station there until July of 2013, he will then be going back to Afaganiston for his third tour of duty.

Skating on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa is a must-do if you enjoy skating outdoors in the wintertime.

Why not enjoy the snow? Every January we head to beautiful Jasper National Park for a few days of cross country skiing. We always stay at the cozy Best Western Jasper Inn, in a room with the loft bedroom, wood burning fireplace and useful kitchen. After skiing in the mountains, we head back to the Inn for sauna and steam bath, and we save money by cooking some of our own meals. The Inn is right in town, so we can walk to restaurants and shopping. Such a wonderful way to enjoy the cold winters of Alberta.

Mt. Hood was our winter-time fun, sledding, snowball fights, lots of winter fun.

We usually stay close to the Long Island/New York City area for the holiday season, visiting friends for Christmas Eve, relaxing Christmas Day, and then going to parties on New Years Eve and New Years Day.

Growing up it was trips to see family in Dade County, Florida. Now, winter trips are not nearly so far. Mostly staying around Indiana and Ohio visiting friends and family. I also take the kids to a hotel with a nice warm pool for a couple of weekends over the winter.

It has got to be Mammoth Lakes , CA!!! Not only is the snow great, the mountains gorgeous and the restaurants deliciously different and yummy, the people are the friendliest you'll ever meet. They are truly happy that you have come to visit them! And this is true in the summer too!!

My family rents multiple rooms (10+) at the Mauston, WI hotel - all on the same floor - for an entire weekend. We gather there to celebrate our family Christmas... One of the suites is set up with a full size fridge and stove, so we are able to prepare food for the entire weekend. We generally stay in doors the entire time - enjoying each other's company, telling stories of our childhood, playing games and just having a wonderful time. The manager and staff are fantastic.....and this is probably why we have returned for many, many years.... The Mauston Best Western is a part of our family Christmas tradition!!

Lake Placid, New York is the winter spot !! Famed for hosting the winter olympics years ago Lake Placid has everything for the snow bound traveler. Snowmobiling and ice skating + cross country skiiing and miles of trails to encounter. We loved the husky sled pull across the lake !! Fine restaurants and a classy town.

My husband and I visited Park City, Utah last winter. It was truly a Winter Wonderland! The most beautiful place, it has great ski resorts, even if you don't ski, they are wonderful to visit. We had brunch at a wonderful resort there, called Stein-Erickson. Also, the town provides free shuttles around town, so you can see all the beautiful Christmas lights downtown and the shops are wonderful there. People are so friendly there also, enjoy!

Las Brisas Best Western in Palm Springs - great hotel and great location! Easy walking distance to so many great restaurants.

Our favourite winter destinations are South! We drive for four days, staying in hotels along the way after long days of driving, sometimes in wintery road conditions. By Day 4, we are enjoying seeing flowers blooming and palm trees waving, in the warm and sunny Coachella Valley. Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indio - all these cities have welcomed us with perfect golf weather, great shopping, and exciting entertainments. We've told many friends about our winter travels and have encouraged them to join the migration south. Our winter trips are now a part of our lifestyle and we look forward to many more.

Leavenworth Washington is beautiful any time of year, but winter is especially wonderful - it makes you feel like you've wandered into an alpine village in Switzerland!

My favorite holiday destination is Hawaii, the north shore of Oahu and the laid back east shore of the island are great places to beat the sleet and snow of the midwest. Flying to california first and then jumping over saves time and money and rooms were very affordable staying at a mix of chains and private b&bs. whole trip ~$1100 for 8 days not bad!!!

We love the beauty of the mountains, the changing of the Smokies, and the beauty of the snow through the Parkway when it is passable. We love to shop, to eat, meet and talk to other visitors and find roads we have not travelled on and ride them and go to Cades Cove and grill in the park and see the deer, bear, turkeys and other wildlife. The lights at Christmastime are beautiful and you can take a trolley ride for the lights, shopping, or just to see where things are and you can travel to Gatlinburg on the trolleys and leave your car parked. Sometimes we go up to Douglas Dam to picnic at the area and look down at the lake. We always have a great time!

A favorite vacation was when our two families got together and stayed at a 5 bedroom home on Table Rock Lake. The home had a theater room where we all watched a movie together.

I already live in a snowy region, so I really enjoy getting away to Tucson. It might seem a little weird, but they have this neighborhood of gorgeous, historic houses called "Winterhaven," and just about the whole neighborhood celebrates all the holidays with a giant festival of lights, complete with carriage rides, and cocoa! It's a comfortable 40 degrees (it easily drops to -4 where I am from), so I can actually enjoy the moment and not dream about setting fire to my clothes to warm up!

We live in the Blue ridge mountains so we try to head to Charleston SC right after Christmas! We love to walk on the beach, eat at Bubba Gumps Resturant and walk the historic market. We love to walk on the Battery and sit in the park while enjoying the beach smell and air! It is our winter beach escape from snow, wind and cold!

I always enjoy going to the western coastal regions year- round from Vancouver to San Diego going to their beaches is a Shore (sure) bet.

The best place for a winter get away is Jasper Alberta - you can ski, skate, snowshoe or hang out in town at one of the local restaurants or pubs.

Any warm beach alone with my amazing husband!!

The best place for winter is Mount Washington on Vancouver Island :) skiing, snowboarding for the kids and tubing for the little and big :) not to mention the special hot chocolates in the lodge ;) we always stay at the Best western in Courtenay when visiting.

The best place to travel at Christmas time is into the Rocky Mountains of southwest Alberta and northwest Montana. Our favorite destination is either Waterton National Park in Alberta or Glacier National Park in Montana! In the winter the Parks are quiet and blanketed in pristine snow, a huge contrast to the bustle of summertime! There are deer everywhere and a walk along the shores of either Waterton Lake or Macdonald Lake is an otherworldly experience because the cold air has a clarity that allows us to see for miles! The quiet air is filled with birdsong and the snow sifts quietly through the pine branches. The sun sparkles off the drifts filling the air with diamonds and rainbows! After a walk, we build a campfire and drink hot chocolate and marvel at these most beautiful places practically right in our own backyard!

The Hanson boys join the Zuchowicz family in Joshua Tree, California. Although it's quite cold for tent camping, it's certainly adventurous. You can't see anyplace like it anywhere else. The kids love to go "bouldering," while the adults do the worrying!

I love being in Chilliwack Bc with all our family!!! Especially at a Best Western, our favorite Hotels!!!!

Banff Alberta in January is to die for. Very few people are there during the week which makes for a very stress free getaway.

Cabo San Lucas-The weather there the begining of this month was fantastic.It was like summer durning the day and in the 60s at night.

Every december, I always travel to Niagara Falls, ON with some friends. In my opinion it is the best time of year to go! it's a great time to avoid all the rushes and the winter festival of lights is amazing. The falls in the winter and the fireworks aren't to bad either. :)

Ludlow VT is the best in the Winter... we love the historic VT towns, the beautiful mountains and SKIING. We stay at the Best Western right in town and always have a blast with friends and family. Can't wait to get there!

Of all the places to vacation at in the cold of winter, I arrived in Stockholm this December. The weather was crisp, and the people charming. I should caution all future travelers that the Swedes are particularly fond of and happen to produce the most delicious, architecturally flawless desserts in the world.

I love staying at the Best Western in Brenham, Tx. The home of the best ice cream in Texas. Blue Bell icream. I would like to take my 81 year old mother to Hawaii next year to visit a little boy by the name of Jadis and surprise him with our visit.

My favorite winter "thing" is having family gather together and listening to their chatter about whatever is going on in their lives, and kids playing in the background either with a board game or the smaller ones, listening to their pretend world . . . and just enjoying all of it. We often have to meet in common locations so that noone is traveling too far . . . we meet in the middle somewhere. Thank you!

My favorite winter destination would be at a small inn in Vermont. I have never been able to travel much, except in my dreams but I would really love to go on a real sleigh ride, at night while singing Christmas carols then coming back to a warm fire and plenty of hot chocolate. I think that would be my favorite winter destination and I hope that someday it comes true...

I go from Pennsylvania to visit "Mickey" in Orlando every winter; been doing it since 1977. I always get great rates at the Best Western on Hotel Plaza Boulevard.

I usually stay in Oregon. However, last Christmas we went to Yelapa, Mexico for a week.

Montana! Is the best place in winter...the tubing and sledding is incredible in the fresh, cold mountain air!

Santa Fe. The luminarias, snow on the plaza, cozy fireplaces, great eating...

North Shore Lake Tahoe. Love to ski at Alpine or Northstar and stay at the Sunnyside Resort. Great location.

My favoriate place to visit in the winter is Moab Utah. That is where my wife is from and it is great wne we get to go back and visit family.

Last night came perilously close to disaster while attempting to navigate snow-obliterated roads along Lake Erie,as a result of a winter storm.
Just checked in to the B.W. in Mason,Ohio. What a pleasant surprise-a medley of festive foods awaited us in the lobby-pies,cakes,squares and corn chips and salsa. A much-needed boost!

My Wife and I like stay overnight in Simcoe Ontario because it is pleasant drive from home plus there is excellent Christmas light display in the Park.

Being with Family over the Holidays is the Best thing that anyone could wish for.

I travel throughout Wisconsin during the holidays to enjoy my grown up children and incredible grandchildren! The best things in life cannot be bought...it's that moment when you walk in the door and just about get knocked over with the powerful hug while the loudest shout goes throughout the house that Grandma's here! Yes, that's the what it's all about! Beautiful WIsconsin...Beautiful Family!

Unfortunately, or fortunately our favourite winter destination is our cottage. We enjoy going up in the winter time and sitting by the fire, enjoying each other's company and planning our next vacation with Best Western.

"Home for the Holidays" with family is always the best place to be. After that, out to Los Angeles, CA, to visit my daughter, would be a great Winter place to visit!

Our best destination is Crystal River, Florida. You can swim with manatees, fish, visit around or just relax. We stay at the Best Western every time.

Last year I spent New Year's in Honolulu, Hawaii.... it's now my favorite winter spot!! The staff at the Best Western Honolulu Airport Rock!!!!!! They took care of me and all of my needs for a week!

Wish i could trade white stuff (snow) for sandy beach... Think i have a desire for sunshine but will gladly hit the slopes instead of the surf. This year we went to Seattle which has neither. Still, great city and Experience Music Project is amazing.

We are "Snow Birds" and love to go to Arizona for the winter. The people are like the weather, warm and friendly.

Every year our family gathers at Best Western Staunton, Va for a mini-family vacation. We have the meeting room where we play games, eat too much food and laugh. The kids love the pool, and the sights in Staunton are entertaining and family-friendly! The staff at Best Western treat us like family, and annually dish up wonderfully clean rooms, polite service and a great breakfast!

Our favorite winter destination is Phoenix ARizona and area. We love Mesa and it's smaller town feel while still being close to the big city. The ability to travel South to the Tuscon area for a more "tropical feel" or North to the Grand Canyon for a slight wintery touch, all possible in a day's drive,....just makes it one of the most unique places we have had the fortune to travel to.

Sedona, Arizona. We live in Phoenix, so its nice to drive 2 hours north when there is snow. Driving along Oak Creek Canyon, the snowlined shoulders and banks with ice covered trees make for a beautiful photo backdrop. It is so peaceful and quiet, you can actually hear winter.

I like to try different places. This year I am taking my niece to San Francisco in Jan 2013. Staying at Best Western, planning on seeing Alcatraz, redwoods, Fisherman Warf and all the major tourist spots.

For the past several years, we've had our family Christmas at Snoqualmie Pass in Washington state. It's great to be away from all the distractions of home and just play in the snow together.

Our family, my husband, two daughters, their husband, and four grandchildren went to Disney for our christmas presents to each other. We left a day early do to a storm that was going to hit the next day. Our flight was the last one out of Grand Rapids, MI, they shut the airport down. We made it to Baltimore, the airport was waiting for our flight, we were the last one out of Balitimore, when they shut the airport down. We were very lucky. We made it to Florida at 1:00 am. The trip was priceless seeing the smiles on our grandchildren's face- it was the first time for some of them.

Our favourite wintertime travel place is to go to Jasper , Lake Louise or Banff national parks in Alberta. They have an ice carving festival in Lake Louise that is just amazing. There are lots of fun things to do as a family in all three places, indoor and outdoor.

The winter wonderland in the mountains is beautfiul.

We live in our own winter wonderland in Colorado! It is absolutely beautiful in the winter but, cold, cold, cold!! Our old bones like to escape to the warmth of Jacksonville or St. Augustine, Florida where we can walk the sandy shores and explore historical sites. A wonderful place to 'snowbird'!

We stay home for the Holidays to be with family but then take off to go somewhere warm for two weeks in January. Last year it was Arizona, this year Florida!

We usually stay close to our home, Ottawa - though we've spent a couple of Christmas holidays in Western Australia - home for me! Talk about contrasts :o)

I love to visit family during the winter/holiday season. My son lives in Colorado and, unfortunately, I haven't been able to visit him in 5 years. I lived there about 25 years ago and my favorite thing to do was go back to Colorado and visit my parents, who lived in the mountains, at Christmas time. Definitely a winter wonderland! We usually stay home for Christmas. But I would love to go to someplace warm and dryer. Maybe a trip to California or Arizona (never been but have seen some awesome pictures). We ride motorcycles, so if taking a ride was included, it would be an awesome time. Really need a REAL vacation which hasn't happened in over 20 years.

Love escaping to Florida with family. Leaving the cold, dreary, grey northeast to bright sunshine, palm trees and green landscapes is uplifting! The best part...no shovelling snow!

Once our two children got to be teenagers we started going to Bennington Vermont every year between Christmas and New Years to go skiing at Mt. Snow in Vermont and Jiminy Peak in Mass. My sister lives in Bennington and her children ski but she doesn't so we got to spend time with family and the young cousins got to hang out and have fun and me and my husband could ski with them and goof off like a couple of teenagers ourselves. At times we have also taken our kids friends along and they still talk about their trip "that year I went with you guys to Vermont for Christmas to go skiing". We would get our own hotel room and get a seperate one for all the kids and they would have a blast swimming or hot tubbing after a long day on the slopes. Our children are grown now and we have two grandaughters, now our traveling party has increased but this year will be the first year our 3 year old grandaughter will be skiing also. We love our Christmas family tradition, we do this in lieu of giving gifts, we would all rather have the memory of our time spent together, it is the greatest gift of all.

I love going to Ocean City Maryland in the winter. It's very quiet and still has plenty of things to do. My favorite is sitting around a bonfire on the beach. So romantic!!!

I know most Canadians want to go somewhere warmer in the Winter, but I'm the exact opposite! My favourite Winter destination is Montreal.

It's cold, but everyone in the city is so used to it that it's business as usual for them. If anything, they embrace the Winter.

I went to school there for a few years and I can't wait to go back!

If you really, really want a wonderful place go. Go to Marina on the Bay in National City, California. They treat there guest in the very best possible way and are there to help you enjoy you vacation. A short dirve to the border into Mexico or go the other way on I-5 and enjoy Sea World or the Balbo Park, Museums and Zoo. Some of the best restraunts are located just minutes away in Gas Lamp or Little Italy for your dining pleasure. I have stayed there in all the seasons and it is wonderful to get away and enjoy sunshine year round with Mission and Pacific beachs close by. Check out Busters Restraunt right next to the Hotel with there Monster Burger, its enough to feed 4 people. This is the time of there year to really get away to Sunny California.

My best winter holiday is going to Taipei, Taiwan for six months. The weather is somewhat like Hawaii and very tropical. The people are the friendly and try to speak English. The food is out of this world and very healthy for you. Great winter vacation

My wife and Love to get away to Brookings, Oregon. While there we love to stay at the BW Beachfront inn. Such a beautiful location. It is so nice to sit on the deck with drinks in hand while watching the sunset!

I love to stay in Saranac Lake NY. It's between Lake Placid and the Santa's Woekshop at the North Pole in Willmington. You are able to experience the best of both worlds and all of the Olympic village magic by day and escape to a quiet hide a way when you've had enough.

Home in Wisconsin with family & friends is the best!! Love to go to the Best Western in Green Bay for New Year's!!

My favorite winter destination would be Fort Walton Beach, FL. The weather is awesome, mid 70's, the white sand beaches are breathtaking, the sunsets are phenomenal! Restaurants are abundant, lots of choices. If it wasn't a 10 hour drive, I probably would go every time I possibly could, but alas, I have only been once!!!

My favorite place during winter time is Lake Tahoe. Beautiful scenery & lots of things to do. They offer a lot of good ski resorts to take the whole family & there are casinos & bars around for the nightlife. I like renting a cabin & just relaxing for a weekend getaway.

I have been going to the Best Western Ocean Reef in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina for the last 20 years...sometimes I go several times a year if I'm lucky...I love the beach in both summer and winter...there'snothing more beautiful than the ocean!!!!!!...The Best Western is the only place I like to stay...the people are wonderful and the rooms face the ocean so I can watch it night and day!!!!!!!

Whistler B.C - so much to do there

Beautiful Saskatoon - You have the beauty of the river running through the middle of the city with parks on either side of the banks, lots of winter activities to do outdoors, like skating at the Meewasin rink beside the stately Bessborought hotel, as well as plenty of things to do indoors if it is too cold, such as the indoor town at the Western Development Museum. It might also be one of the only zoos where the animals are more gorgeous to look at in the winter than the summer.

My family likes to visit Flagstaff at least once every winter. Living in Phoenix is nice because we can go play in the snow for a day or two (my kids love sledding!) and then make the 2 hour drive back to mild weather!

Travelling up to Whistler/Blackcomb for 2 epic days of skiing and snowboarding. It's the one time no one in the family complains about getting up super early to hit the first open runs of the day! Then coming back home and hitting up a hot tub = pure bliss!

Travelling to Carson, Los Angeles from Toronto, Ontario to spend the holidays with all my cousins and celebrate my birthday which follows shortly after.
As much as I love all the winter fulfilled activities, basking in the California sun is always a holiday treat to look forward to.

We stay close to home. Usually to my aunt's house for Christmas Eve.

We love going to Leavenworth, Washington. It is a small Bavarian town and is soooo pretty decorated in the winter. Tons of lights, music...very pretty. Lots of snow so the kids love sledding since we hardly get snow here in the Seattle area. They also have a GREAT Best Western to stay at too!!

We always love to head to see family in the winter wonderland of Wisconsin. There doesn't seem to be any better place to spend Christmas with family. We always hope for snow!!!

Favourite winter destination is to stay at home in Newfoundland Canada. Spring vacations are my favourite, and we always stay at Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort in Kissimmee, FL. Great staff - great service - that is what keeps us coming back to that hotel.

Just Can't Beat Hawaii for a destination to travel to in the winter; escaping from snow, ice, cold and cabin fever to tropical warmth, ocean breezes and the spirit of Aloha! So much to see and do! Wish we could afford to go every year, but once every 30 years isn't bad! Honeymooned there and then recently returned for our 30th anniversary, this time with the two 'fruits' of our marriage in tow! Best Western, SEND us BACK, please!!!

Stateside, we had a great time in CLEVELAND, OH last year (snowless winter!) after traveling from Western Massachusetts; spending Valentine's Day at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and then a romantic dinner 'downtown.' Yay, Cleveland, YOU ROCK!

My favorite winter destination is Friday Harbor, Washington located on beautiful San Juan Island.

If you like quaint towns with lots of charm and holiday spirits then Mt. Dora, Florida is the place to visit. The town and the marina is lit with so many lights it feels walking in a winter wonderland. It also has so many fine restaurants, eateries, antique shops, and gift shops that you can do all your Christmas shopping there. It's in located on Lake Dora with a marina that is so well decorated it must take them a month to set the lights up. Then there is the stroll around Lake Dora and a visit to the lighthouse. There are also historical home and garden tours. With so many things to see and do, no wonder it's a destination for so many people.

It is a toss-up between heading to a warmer climate, like Puerto Vallarta, or enjoying what winter has to offer, and hitting the slopes of Summit County, Colorado.

My husband is unemployed right now because we moved to California to take care of my mom who has Alzhiemers and my dad who is 80 years old. We have to be out of their park at the end of the month and we have no place to go. Our only blessing is our Disneyland passes that help us escape once and awhile. It would be a blessing though to see Disneyland in Florida. If we could go as a family and we would have to take my mom and dad. She has her good days and not so good days. But it would be something she would remember because she still has a little bit of that left.

We almost always spend the holidays at home so our whole family can be together to enjoy the season doing activities together and eating wonder food. Our whole family enjoy winter with many out door activities, but ice skating is a primary one. When the weather permits the drive, we go to Banff and can get great rates on the hotels as a group, find delectable food in restaurants where we can all be seated together. The Banff -Canmore area is one of celebration during the winter, but especially over the Christmas holiday.

We always spend the holidays close to home so that our whole family can get together. We all enjoy the winter weather and the special activities we can all do together, one being ice skating. When the weather permits we do drive up to the Banff / Canmore area to enjoy the wonderful Inns / Hotels and can get good rates as a group. There are many restaurants that serve delectable food where we can all be seated together and eat our hearts away after good exercise. Togetherness is our theme especially to celebrate Christmas and bring in the New Year.
